  1. On the pre FL version it was easier to replace the std bulbs with LEDs. The pic is crap, shot at night with my mobile phone.
  2. My my 07 VRS came with the puddle lights as a package with the dimmable outside mirrors. Dont know whether these are orderable in the UK.
  3. 8.5 ET 48 (for example original audi wheels) in 19 fit and are even approved in Germany. Those 3mm wont do too much. Maybe some small changes to the rear arches, but no big ones.
  4. You dont have to convince people Bryan, i love the way you love your car and alter it the way YOU like it. And changing the design of the wheels so once in a while is part of it.
  5. Onmeheadson #4 already showed his interest in the Bluefin. (I would have made a deal already )
  6. The best part of your reply, Bryan, is "highly unlikely" It is always good to keep faith in oneself.
  7. I think you could call me a BBS fan Summer: Winter
  8. As I would have had the opportunity to go to Ben, I would have let him manage my maps. I already had my Bluefin before Ben started with the STS and buying another one is just a waste of money. On the other hand, I had very good support by SC and they always sent me revised maps if I wasnt 100% satisfied. Also sent me revised maps after works updates. So I cannot complain.
  9. The problem is, that you cannot tell whether the ECU is encrypted or not. It wont do the thread opener any good, if he thinks his ECU isnt encrypted to find out it is
  10. It will definately work on a 2006 PD, had it on mine and was very satisfied. Bahnstormer had it on his and this also worked very well. For that price it is a bargain. (had my bluefin flashed and reprogrammed for my Audi and am still very satisfied with SuperChips) To the first question, better go to Shark Performance and let the car be checked there.
  11. 8.5 ET32 will not fit without some major pulling of the arches...... But they look definately GOOOOOOD
  12. Blue smoke after a cold juddery start can be unburnt diesel. If the engine runs very rough after a cold start, it can be (a) faulty glow plug(s). The engine light might be a faulty pressure sensor (measures the pressure before and after the DPF to measure the soot load of the DPF). This is a well known fault in VAG DPF engines. Should be stored as a fault code.
  13. Hi Steve just read your post and was shocked. Doesnt sound good to me.... Hope you get it all sorted (and better than before ) soon. Cheers from Germany Mike
  14. I will try to upload these here, all pictures stolen at octavia-rs.com Sorry Bryan, forgot that you have to be registered to look at the Gallery.
  15. Here were the first pictures of the car that was at the Essener Motorshow. Black with red/smoke: http://octavia-rs.co...3687#post123687 post 376
  16. I think from page 18 on. On page 18 the first pictures were posted. In the gallery their are also a couple of pictures of black VRSs with the black tail lights
  17. It is a known problem, that the 170PD engine doesnt cope well with the DPF. The common rail engines are much more faultless and dont have the same problems the PD engine has.
  18. Go through this thread and just look at the pictures. At the beginning of the thread the Dectanes werent yet produced and only the China ones were known. http://octavia-rs.com/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=6664 Answer to the honeycomb grill. The lever has to be shortened and doesnt stick through the grill as the original one. If you look at the Milotec webpages and search for their grill, you can download their instructions and see how they alter the lever to be able to open the bonnet. After cutting the lever you will have to fiddle from under the grill to move the lever. Link to the manual from Milotec: http://milotec.de/media/content/pdf/octavia%20II%20facelift/260001_260004.pdf?XTCsid=42821c528d8a3f0627bfe0ae0f9a214d
  19. OK, makes sense. It will never be a totally problemfree engine. Had my 170PD for almost 100t miles and had all the little troubles. Sensors, almost all of them, PD injector short cut, ECU, changed wiring harnesses. But I loved driving every mile in this car
  20. If it runs normal, you should be able to drive it. If not in limp mode the car will do its normal regenerations, so driving shouldnt give any problems. My guess still is the pressure sensor, it will come back. Maybe not for a while, but than ever more. (my own experience). You should notice a very unregular distance between regens. My car even started a regen in front of a stoplight, just about half a mile after I cold started the engine..... If your car ran in limp mode, the dealer should be able to see the fault. If you want to have this checked, try to find one of the members with VCDS to do a scan.
  21. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 32
  22. Hard to tell. Italian? Over 370bhp?
  23. I had original skoda rubber mats for winter and the carpet ones for summer. Same for the audi, although the rubber ones are still in the garage. (have the thicker exclusive carpets still in the car. Much comfier)
  24. The sensors are still a weak part of the PD engines. Had broken pressure sensors as well as a broken exhaust temp sensor. The broken exhaust temp sensor made the coil blink and sent the car in limp mode. Problem with the limp mode is, that the car will not regenerate. I still had to do about 125 miles with the car. Did this and light throttle without much accelerating (producing soot) and got the car to the workshop where they replaced the exhaust temp sensor. In my experience (about 100tmls), you can still drive the car to skoda. Here they can hook it up to the computer.
  25. Probably one of the sensors gone. Mostly it is the pressure sensor that measures the difference in pressure before and after the DPF (to measure its load). Another sensor that can break is the exhaust temp sensor. Just let the car be checked by skoda, the OBD will tell the fault.
