  1. Happy to say, it is an 18 plate - one the early 'special edition' 245 models (I think that's what they're called!) BCA will be getting mine at the end of April at the latest, possibly earlier depending on when I buy and if they have spare slots etc.
  2. Hi folks, my car is also with VWFS and it is due back at the end of April. I don't know if it is well known, but BCA inspect and collect on the same day so if anything needs doing, you have to get it done in advance of the inspection. I thought they inspected, then you had some time to fix identified issues - alas not!. Thankfully (touching wood), I think I will be ok. If anyone wants to know, the purchase price for my manual 245, in the standard red with 16.5k on the clock is £16,200. I won't be buying, but gives people an idea. Also, I am allowed to buy it directly should I want to - I wouldn't have to purchase through my better half etc.
  3. I am keeping an open mind, but it is good to know the ball park I am looking at if I were to purchase it. My mrs has back issues, so I am having a hard time finding something that matches the seats in the VRS. I am kinda loathed to pay out so much money for something that won't be new to me - or is that just my own flawed logic! I guess if I had spec'd mine better, adaptive suspension being one of them plus DSG rather than manual, then I might be more tempted.
  4. Thanks for the responses everyone. I think I will sit and wait to see what gets flagged, then go from there. Will make sure I get the kettle on for the Inspector!!
  5. Hi folks, does anyone happen to know much about diamond cut scuff repairs / end of lease / BCA charges etc? Just wondering if anyone has been there before and what people tend to do?
  6. Yeah, not going down that road again! Mind, not so bad if you know up front, it was the not knowing when or if you were getting it that was the worst of it - I’m having flashbacks lol
  7. Yeah, I am fairly sure I will end up with the XC60, around a similar age as it happens. Going push to for a D5, in the hope to get a bit of performance. Will try the A6 just to be sure before I give in.
  8. Good idea, sadly out of budget from what I can tell. Will keep an eye out though.
  9. Always thinking about it! Cuppa sounds great, will be interested to hear what you make of it. I am on polar opposites at the moment as I am struggling to find cars that don’t knacker my wife’s back, all the seats on things we have tried are a lot lower to the floor than the vrs, she needs to sit relatively upright. My last hope of something good, is a 3l A6 saloon. Need to find time to check out one locally, see it passes the test! Failing that will be looking at a total opposite, XC60! Should be upright enough lol
  10. Can’t seem to edit my post, just checked the Skoda site it looks as though they should be inclusive prices: Interim service An interim service is carried out every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes sooner. An interim service includes: Oil & filter change (fully synthetic oil), Vehicle inspection test and report*, Full vehicle road test**, Vehicle & software enhancements from ŠKODA’s database, Replacement pollen filter^, Diagnostic check including report, Re-set service interval display, Wash and vacuum, ŠKODA stamp in service book. Also, fixed service prices are on the same page: https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price So refer them to their own page if they’re trying for more: SERVICING MOT £39 Interim service £179 Major service £289 @martysparty99
  11. Hmmm, they didn’t mention anything about charging for the oil. I expected that to be a part of the price! I will call them to check that they aren’t planning to sting me for the oil separately. Still, not a lot I can do if that’s how it is. At least I can still threaten to go to another dealer.
  12. I have mine booked in for the so called oil service in around a week. I had to negotiate them down from £179 to £159! Clearly I am not a good customer! I am hoping to duck under the 20k service before it goes back (on pch deal).
  13. Yeah, despite my best efforts I have two minor scuffs on the alloys, plus my daughter has scratched the sill getting in and out over the past few months. No doubt they will clobber me for both! I can see why leasing is good, but it’s just not for me. Happy hunting though!
  14. Sounds like a dream and so would a v8! I'm not looking to lease again, so going for around 3 or 4 years old and get best I can for my budget. Just too many things annoying me about leasing, from timing of putting new tyres on, to the dreaded inspection.
  15. I think I would hit the floor @martysparty99! I’m tempted by either a chilled out 5 series, Audi A5 or merc c class coupe, around 2015. Good luck on those quotes though, will keep fingers crossed for you!
  16. Tell me about it! I knew the pch etc deals at the time were bonkers, well and truly spoilt! I've given in on looking for equivalent performance and I simply don't use it anyway. I think I am going to cheat and look for similar torque, that way I might not feel it too much (maybe). Means going going to a diesel, but that doesn't bother me to much. I'm also after smoother ride, two years older and I have had enough of rattling around!
  17. I’m in a similar position, as my pch runs out in April 20. You had any thoughts yet? As I haven’t seen any deals anywhere close to what I have, I think I will go back to buying something. Have been looking at the typical things outside of Skoda though. I always like to have a change.
  18. I'm pondering what to do with mine as I have caught the rear passenger on a couple of times, thankfully only minor though. I'm leading and it will be going back in a year, so really not sure what to do for the best. I will have to check out the leasing charges and tolerance first I guess.
  19. Thanks for sharing this. I have it booked in with the dealer for this and a couple of other minor bits. Hopefully it will all get sorted.
  20. I get about two car lengths and that's it if I am lucky. Will give them a call.
  21. Yeah, my usual motorway is fine as other cars light up the road etc. Will see what’s possible.
  22. Thanks, thought as much. I doubt I will have much success with the dealer, but will try and see if the settle point is too low or can be changed.
  23. Anyone finding that the settled angle of their lights only gives about two car lengths? I find it’s simply too short and will be calling my dealer tomorrow to see if there is anything that can be done. I went home the country route this evening and the visibility is simply too poor. My previous cars had adjustment near the steering wheel, but I can’t find anything on my VRS.
  24. On the topic of the lights, is it just me or does the range of the lights seem rather short? I feel like I could do with a control to lift the angle to get more distance like i have had in previous cars. Or am I missing something?
