  1. as long as we, the users, don't get stung with a bill for their short-sightedness
  2. That's interesting, but I'm getting the impression the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. When I spoke with Trafficmaster they specifically told me that they had turned it off. That said, maybe then did but if the Skoda system is still configured to use them then it'll require a re-config to change to picking up the signal from INRIX.
  3. Aaaand Skoda UK are telling me they can’t/won’t do anything unless I take the car in for a diagnostic. My reply involved sex and travel!
  4. I’ve contacted them as well via email but also via Facebook. But, if one more person tells me to take the car in for a diagnostic I’m not going to be responsible for my response to them.
  5. The standalone sat nav may well be getting TMC information from another provider (Inrix) which is why it works. Trafficmaster were providing it to VW (among others)
  6. In fact, as far as I can tell this would hit VW, Audi, Skoda, Mazda, Chrysler, Honda, Seat and Vauxhall.
  7. Agreed, and it's not just VAG vehicles that are affected, this would hit Chrysler and a bunch of others
  8. Posted on the other thread about this, but after calling Trafficmasted I was told that they turned off the RDS-TMC broadcasts at the end of March as it's no longer supported !
  9. They literally said, "we stopped transmitting RDS-TMC at the end of March as it's no longer supported". That was it, full stop. Not the best answer admittedly. All very well, but I've got a 2016 Columbus with no Smartlink.
  10. So trafficmaster have said that they turned off the RDS-TMC broadcast and the end of March as it's no longer supported technology !
  11. Good plan Joek666, don't let them touch your car. My local dealer even confirmed his own car was showing the same problems (and that was a Golf). I'm waiting for a callback from them as we speak to see if they've had anything on their tech "hub"
  12. I would recommend bombarding their social media now, nothing get's a company motivated like bad press.
  13. I've called Skoda again as one of the things that TMC not working has done is to render the dynamic routing option of their Sat Nav utterly useless as it won't know if there are any holdups along the route. I'm resolutely refusing to take the car into the dealer though as there's stuff-all they can do about it.
  14. Definitely don't take it to a dealer, they won't be able to do anything other than confirm it isn't working. Still worth calling the dealer though and speak to them, they will be experiencing it with all of the cars in their yard I'm sure (along with any of their own company cars if they have them)
  15. I think the vehicle age thing is a red herring. The dealer is spoke to checked his (newer) Golf which had the same problem. He had checked their “hub” for any information and nothing was forthcoming so I get the feeling this may have blind sided everyone. It doesn’t seem limited to VAG group vehicles either
  16. I would suggest and recommend everyone with this issue reports it to Skoda. Don’t be fobbed off with them telling you to take it to a dealership it’s an external problem and they need to provide an official stance
  17. The problem is that Inrix appear to be impossible to talk to. The original provider (ITIS) were bought by inrix, but the phone number I have continuously goes to voicemail
  18. That’s interesting! Trying to find out who is actually responsible for transmission of the information is proving challenging
