Splitter now fitted using self tappers. Thanks for replies. Chuffed with it

I put Goodyear F1 AS3's on the front of my mk2 about a month before I got my mk3 and thought they were fantastic. Like JohnnyType2 I have kuhmo on the mk3 as fitted by Skoda and don't think they are anywhere near as good as the AS3's

Well that all makes perfect sense. Hope the wife likes it too (wink wink)

Fantastic looking. Well done mate. Really looks great. Pity about the delay on the spoiler cap. But it's something to look forward to. Can't believe you want to stiffen it up even more. I had a mk2 before my mk3 on I find the 3 very stiff as standard compared to the 2. But each to their own.

Looking forward to seeing it fully done. Looks super so far. I got my front splitter and side skirts on at the weekend. Just waiting to give it a clean before I take photos. Looks very similar to yours obviously. We have good taste

Seriously mate! We are so on the same wavelength. I'm very tempted to go for a spoiler cap too. I'm thinking gloss black. What did you go for? I'm also thinking of smoking the rear lights

@A18kny yes it's the Maxton one. Only slight issue are 2 of the fins not exactly flush to bumper but otherwise fitted very well for me

Never getting down my road like that mate. Tooooo low

It does look amazing. Great job mate. Yes I know the diffuser is extreme in comparison to the Rieger one. But each to their own eh! Hoping to get my splitter and side skirts fitted on Sunday. Got lower front bumper sprayed today. Looks great. looking forward to seeing your diffuser on. I'll post pics of my finished product soon

Was going to ask the same question. I was thinking about 12mm front and 15mm rear

Cheers Johnny

Cheers man! Sounds like a much easier option than trying to fit nuts and bolts. Also, I watched a video where some guy caught the splitter on something and wrecked the bumper because of the nuts and bolts. He said a friend of his did similar but with self tappers and it just pulled out the screws and no real damage to bumper

I definitely agree that lower and wider look way better than standard but lowering is not an option unfortunately. Have you used spacers before? Looking forward to seeing your rear diffuser. I'll post a picture of my Maxton one soon

Absolutely loving what you've done so far. A man after my own heart. I got a 2015 Race Blue TDI combi VRS in November and have started the transformation which is similar to your own. I only came across this project today and had to get in touch. I have the Maxton rear diffuser already fitted (looks very aggressive- not to everyone's taste) and the Heko wind deflectors. I have black plasticoated all the chrome badges and did the exhaust tips too. Not perfect but I'll work out how to get it right. I have the Maxton front diffuser and side skirts to go on yet. Was it an easy job to fit the front splitter? I really love the black front lip so I'm going to copy that if you don't mind. Looks fantastic. And I'm very impressed with the black eyebrows. I didn't want to fork out the 50quid for the blue ones so I'm thinking the cheaper white ones sprayed black might just do the trick. Looks better than the blue anyway. Pity I didn't see that earlier as I purchased a bumper guard and touch up paint from superskoda during their sale the other day. I'll wait till I need something else to save the €10 delivery! I'm not going to lower mine as there are 7 "speed bumps" (road mountains!!) on the approach to where I live. Wouldn't be worth while. I am thinking about spacers but I'm not convinced due to what I've read about tyre wear and wheel bearings. Do you have any experience with them?

I have the Maxton front splitter to put on my VRS. For anyone who has fitted one already, can you tell me what you used i.e. Nuts and bolts (as provided), or just self tappers, tape etc.?? Did it require removing the front bumper? Overall, easy or difficult to do? Thanks

Let's see your dirty cars! :)

It looks perfectly fine. You'd never notice. I work for a bus company and got the lad in the body shop to spray the Skoda emblems black. Did a super job. Only had to give him a few beers as payment. I've ordered the name badges in black but am regretting it now that I can plastidip them. I might try that first and if it works well, I might try selling the ones I bought
