  1. Just been to take a photo, two buttons I was talking about are circled in red.
  2. There are two buttons on the steering wheel for this, on the right. The nearest to the wheel centre is for the driver assistance tick boxes. The one on the right of the scroll wheel is for changing the maxi dot display category. At least that is how it is on mine 🙂 Then the scroll wheel itself changes what is shown in the selected category.
  3. Hi @plutus, This sounds like it isn’t configured correctly. If you got it from a car dealer, you really need to go back to them about it ASAP. If you bought privately, probably the only way you’ll resolve an incorrect configuration is to get the configuration scanned using something like VCDS and then compare to a working configuration. A local VAG specialist should be able to investigate, or find a kind person with a decent scan tool near you. Also, as the car was pre-owned, are you sure it didn’t have a towbar previously fitted that someone has removed but not put the configuration back to original? Check under the rear of the car to see if a cutout has been made in the plastic valance where the towbar swan neck would come out.
  4. @kewals Would you explain if the Skoda dealer offered you a range of replacement brands, or if you said what you wanted, or if you supplied the parts? Thanks.
  5. Most people just run the power lead down to a piggyback fuse holder on an ignition-switched fuse position. Just see how it goes. If it isn't satisfactory, do that.
  6. I’ve got similar. I still ran the rear camera cable down the left side, up the left A-pillar and along the headlining. The power lead goes across the headlining on the drivers side, down the A-pillar and to the OBD2 port. The power adapter was one from Halfords (not their brand though). One thing I would say though is, I find that the BlackVue camera cycles off and on when the voltage drops and rises, usually after a while on the motorway. I’ve not decided if that is a function of the camera (I vaguely remember it having some set up about battery levels before putting in the car) or if it is the power unit that plugs into the OBD2 port, preventing you flattening the car battery. I think this happens when the charging system shuts down as part of the “eco” charging, so the battery voltage drops. As soon as there is some electrical load (like seat heater on one light) then it comes back on. I keep meaning to investigate further but haven’t been too bothered 🤪
  7. Sorry for slight change of topic but your posting @roottoot has got me a little worried. Can I respectfully ask if wet DSG oil change has become (or always has been) time-limited at 4 years? I’ve only ever read 40k miles being written and not time related. I declined the offer of this at my 4 year service (a few months ago) as was still some way off 40k miles, and the service booker agreed it was 40k miles for my car.
  8. I think you can only go to 30 if you’ve already got 10. If you’ve only got 3, you’re stuck with them.
  9. I park in my garage. Once you’ve started reversing, turn OFF the auto hold so that the DSG will creep nicely with you controlling the foot brake. And turn off the parking sensors. First time, get someone to guide you in. Then if one side is close to a side wall, use a marker pen to put a line on the wall to line up with your door mirror. You just have to line up with that each time, no particular need for camera. Also, a couple of those interlocking martial arts floor mats against the wall behind the car will give you a bit of peace of mind if you go a bit too far.

  11. Here you go @ApertureS, hope this helps. adpmap-05-3Q0-959-435.CSV
  12. Exactly like my Superb 3 mats (maybe slightly dirtier 😁) p.s. they do clean up really easily with a stiff brush and water.
  13. Hi, Do you mean that every time you start up you get the warning that the tyre pressures need attention, with the amber bits on the car graphic, or just that this is the page that appears (assuming you have changed the page to something else before switching off last time)?
  14. I was looking at this recently due to a family member going to France. I was surprised to find on the NHS website that EHICs are still valid until expiry. Might be useful info for those who have a card still with a good length of time left until expiry.
  15. L&K? They’re the foot pads that go under front seats, to give the rear passengers a bit of a footrest.
  16. What a bizarre menu! Eggnog, Truffles, what on earth are these???
  17. I get something similar and when I get chance intend to look at what is described here:
  18. Roof rails on the estate can be handy.
  19. There is usually a white sticker under the boot carpet, stuck to the metalwork next to the spare wheel well, with the option codes on it. You can search these online to find out what you have.
  20. If you’re going to have to do it manually, I’d filter the script down (in Excel or something) to a colour at a time, and put the same filter into VCDS, so you're only doing a bit at a time. At least you’ve only got to do it once
  21. From this car size comparison website, Superb is 18cm, 3.5cm wider. So not a massive difference if your wife was happy enough parking the VRS amongst other school traffic. Plus it can park itself That price sounds high to me but I haven’t been following the market. I paid that sort of money for an ex-demo, with a couple of thousand miles on it, back in Feb 2018, only a few months old. I really suggest seeing if you can test drive a DCC Superb, particularly as you’ve been used to what must be a relatively firm setup in the VRS. Pot-holed, patchwork town roads really benefit from soft settings to soak up the unevenness. Then hard settings for twisty country roads. Without the DCC you’re stuck with a “middle of the road” setup that has attracted lots of disappointed comments on here.
  22. Does the Superb also include DCC? I wouldn’t have another without it. Had some PSA experience - would say that the Superb has a much more solid feel to it, plus the DSG far nicer than the PSA auto box (if you were wanting auto there). I find the Superb is fine in towns. It doesn’t feel like a massive car to drive, there are plenty of “executive” cars that are wider. Length isn’t excessive for normal parking spaces either. I don’t have a rear camera, just the all-round sensors. Never found it a problem, just make sure I look up the space to see what is there before reversing into it. But – from the posts on the 280/272 thread – are you bothered about the eye-watering consumption you’re going to get if all you are doing is town school runs? Is a VRS Octy just as fuel hungry? If not, you may want to factor that into your monthly cost. (p.s. I would love to change to a 280/272 if I had the opportunity!)
  23. Do the rear doors unlock when you use the central locking button inside the car?
  24. Have you tried pulling fuse 12 (20A) to take the power away from the Infotainment system, leave it out for 10s and then plug in again? The front USB is certainly directly connected to the Infotainment unit. As well as de powering the Infotainment unit, pulling fuse 12 cuts the power to the USB (just tried it).
  25. Any fluff in the socket? Vacuum it out? Use the Magnifier on your iPhone (several quick presses of the on/off button) to inspect the socket for damage? I doubt the USB port is going to have a dedicated fuse - USB power limiting/short-circuit protection is usually built into the USB controller itself. I can only think you maybe could get to the back of the Infotainment unit in the glove box to check that all the connections are seated okay, but they are usually latching so unlikely. Unless someone knows if there is a separate box for the USB functionality?
