Disappointed in off road performance
My last 3 cars have had same drive system, never had an issue driving them. I had kept drive on, all it was doing was spinning fronts and creating a rut. I'll book it in to be checked.

Disappointed in off road performance
I'll answ Qs raised by KennyR and e-Roottoot Servicing : I have had the car since new ... it has had every service by the main dealer who supplied it - so if oil changes or filters were required then they should have been done, when you service with main dealer you expect them to follow manufacturers schedules. 4WD mode I appreciate this is a 2WD car, It is Intelligent AWD, so it runs as normal in 2WD, but when you select off road mode, it provides electronically controlled drive to all 4 wheels .... this was what didn't happen, no drive at all to rear wheels. If front wheel were having no traction the system should be at least supplying power to rear wheels (OK they may slip as well)

Disappointed in off road performance
The standard tyres that come with the car ... Pirelli Scorpion Verde 235 50 R19 As supplied with the car so therefore deemed fit for purpose by Skoda. That isn't the concern though, if all 4 wheel were driving and it couldn't get out then I'd consider the tyres. Fair enough if car was 12" down in mud all sucking against the wheels - the concern is no drive at all to rear wheels.

Disappointed in off road performance
I bought my Kodiaq as I need to tow my boat. low tide, so drove off the of concrete slipway and rear wheels in water front wheels on gravel. (Only to 2/3 depth of tyre, not even wheel in gravel) Launched boat … went to drive off with only trailer attached ….. had selected 4WD mode …. Front wheels just spinning no grip. The strange thing was rear wheels did not try to drive car at any time. It’s simply as if it was in 2WD I even selected snow mode - no difference. Had another boater pull me onto concrete with his Fiat Panda ! Anybody else had poor 4WD performance.? I don’t expect Landrover mud plugging capability, but this was very poor. I’m assuming if it was not working alarms would display.

Headlight washer
Thanks for link ... but when you add shipping cost is the same. Maybe I'll wait for part and collet it and spray myself
-
Headlight washer
£32 for the part and £55 to have it painted .... Arrrgh plus fitting charge on top. (unless it will just clip-on)
-
Headlight washer
That sort of looks how it should work ...... getting colour matched flap will be the issue ... I'll call dealer
-
Headlight washer
The Kodiaq has headlamp washer hidden behind a flap. My offside front headlight washer 'flap' is missing, is this an easy pop back on spare, or does it need additional work ?

Updating Map f/ware
When I went to the download site ... entered my VIN ..... it did not give me any options of different files ...... so no 2MB update .... just the HUGE 29GB one. You can't fit that on a 32GB FAT32 card. Anyway for me update is now done and my Kodiaq has 2 x SD card slots so I used SD1 I did ask my dealer, they will not update Maps as it takes too long.

Updating Map f/ware
OK ... update for anyone else interested. Skoda map update WEBpage is WRONG Skoda Columbus update instructions document is WRONG The download file is now too large to fit on a 32GB SD card Skoda states to format SD card with FAT32 using Windows OS ..... you can't format FAT32 on larger SD cards using Windows OS as W10 does not support greater than 32GB. (you can use 3rd party apps but that is not what Skoda advises) Fact .... you can use greater than 32GB SD cards ..... I used a 64GB card formatted to exFAT I just carried out the latest update so can attest that this works.
-
Updating Map f/ware
W10 does not support formatting to greater than 32gb ..... as soon as you put in an SD card or USB stick that is greater than 32gb Windows removes option to use FAT32 Yes you can go to 3rd party Apps .... but I do not like the idea of formatting a file structure that W10 does not support. Windows only gives you NTFS or exFAT ..... I'll try exFAT first as its already formatted for that

Updating Map f/ware
This is the issue I have The file may be only 29gb but with overhead it will not fit on 32gb memory stick Managed to borrow a 64GB card Added issue ... FAT32 does not support greater than 32GB so cannot format to use FAT32 ...... so currently stuck
-
Updating Map f/ware
I was trying to a 32GB USB stick I'll have to try and borrow a large enough SD card For some reason I thought you updated with a USB stick

Updating Map f/ware
Skoda site advises new update ..... doenloaded and the zip file is 28GB Pretty amzing file size ... my first desk top business PC had 30MB HDD and that was OS, Microsoft office and all my own documents. Anyway ... I have a 30GB memory stick but the file won't fit. Anybody know if you can use a USB SSD drive ..... I have 1 TB one of those ..... formatted as NTFS. Otherwise I'm stuck.

Extended warranty
Not decided yet .... will look at 3rd party to see if price is fair one.
-
Extended warranty
. Could see older t&c’s but would not be relevant to a new contract, so did not look at them.

Extended warranty
Plugged the details into Skoda calculator, based on my Edition with 29k current mileage, All component warranty 10 k mileage pa £0 excess £387.21 10k mileage pa £100 excess £326.16 15k mileage pa £0 excess £403 15k mileage pa £100 excess £339.16 You can also pay monthly for 10% increase .... useful if you may not keep for 12months as warranty is NOT transferable. Booklet confirms: ŠKODA Extended Warranty Cover from ŠKODA Financial Services is sold and administered by Lawshield (UK) Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.ŠKODA Extended Warranty Cover is underwritten by Volkswagen No limit to claim other than claim must be less than full market value. If you have All Component Cover the maximum we will pay per claim and in total in the period of cover is the market value of your vehicle including VAT. Attach a copy of the conditions boolet in case anyone interseted. An interesting compariaon is that the LandRover equivalent is £650 ... Extended warranty
Approaching 30,000. Just had its service & 1st MOT ( 3 weeks early) Tempting to run it without warranty, but get full breakdown cover. I would have got a new one, but they have no 5 seat version that can tow 2.2T

Extended warranty
My Kodiaq Edition, is 3 yr old next month ... thinking of buying it (bubble purchase) and have received email pushing extended warranty. What is the view on the extended warranty ? Worth it or save the money. Not had a single thing go wrong in first 3 years, had all services by the main dealer.

Skoda Kodiaq 2.0 TDI 200 bhp thoughts?
Dealer pushing me on this engine ..... current Kodiaq has the 190 Surprised they came out with new engine - 190 was a new design, must be some reason ... emissions or manufaturing cost ?
-
Delivery timescales - 2.0 TDI Sportline 200bhp
Dealer quoted me 12 weeks as well

Tow bar
Yes do that - same as I did ... I know the poster seems to think its nonsesne ..... but when you have it in writing by a main Dealer, you tend to accept that position. The position may have changed - my car was 2018 ....but it was 100% the offiocial position form Skoda delaer and Skoda UK 'at that time'
-
Tow bar
This was not the 'Salesman nonsese', at the time they even engaged Skoda UK ... who also confirmed that the 7 Seat could not have a tow bar fitted. The position (and maybe capabaility) may well have changed but that was a clear position from Skoda UK when I bought in 2018 If I wanted to Tow I had to have 5 seat and if I wanted to tow 2.2 T (max capacity) I had to have 190PS and DSG gaerbox. Having manual reduced tow capacirty significantly. I spent many, many calls & emails on this with Dealer, they with Delear Support and myslef with Customer Support for Skoda UK.
