Installing Speed Cameras on The Amundsen MIB2 - Free Database and Quite Simple to Do!
Latest Updated Speedcams - April, 2026. Here goes - Happy Easter lol. Once again here's the latest update of my customised version of EUR Speedcams ( April, 2026 ). They consist of the full EUROPE speed cameras which I've split up into four consolidated poi categories i.e. Redlight Speedcams, Fixed Speedcams , Average Speedcams ( which also include European tunnel speedcams ) and Variable Speedcams. They come supplied with my own preferred personal choice of icons, shown below, to match each of the speedcam categories. Remember to Install them as I explained in the first post in this thread i.e. after extracting the zip file remember to open the newly extracted folder and place only the PersonalPOI folder and metainfo2.txt file onto your sd card ( Please Note: a usb stick will not work! ). Also, please remember to select/tick the relevant newly added poi categories and the poi audible warning alert in your infotainment map menu settings after performing the update or they will not display on your map or audibly alert you. Hope you all enjoy them! I'm sorry but I have no experience of the Skoda Karoq but from your picture I would say no. These files are for MIB2 units only. They will only work on the Skoda Amundsen and Columbus MIB2 versions as well as the equivalent VW Discover Media and Discover Pro versions.

Octavia 3 Front Brake Pad Plate Removal
I guess you're referring to the brake disc dust cover. The same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago so I've just replaced mine. It's held on by 3 torx screws and the plate wears away and disintegrates around the screws causing the cover to become loose and then rattle. Only 1 screw was still holding mine on when I replaced it. Original replacement cover is approx. £30 from TPS but aftermarket ones are available from about £10 to £20 from the usual online marketplaces/motor factors. To gain access to the torx screws to either replace or remove the dust cover its a wheel off, pad and caliper removal, then caliper carriage removal and then disc removal ( the latter was a pain ). I actually cheated a bit because I removed the brake caliper carriage with the pads and caliper still attached. Some users have reported that the cover has just come away when the wheel has been removed and others have said been they've ben able to bend it back and forth to break it away. A lot of people don't bother replacing it because it's not a MOT requirement. My attitude is that it's there for a reason so it's a definite replacement job for me. At the end of the day it does protect the discs and pads and also saves premature wear of them.

Boot Foam Insert
@paulski I take it that you've been lucky and never changed your brake light bulbs or front fog light bulbs ? 😁. I can confirm that it's to undo the 2 torx screws that you need to remove on each tail light to access the rear bulbs. On some models - such as mine - you also need the tool to undo the bulb holder cover. There should also be a silver springy thing with a hook to pull off the rubber covers that cover the two torx screws that hold the tail light in place.

Title: MIB2 Toolbox / Developer Mode not working on MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T (Octavia 2017, Finland)Title: MIB2 Toolbox / Developer
“Error: No data available. Please insert a source with software update data or check the source.” This is usually an indication that the unit doesn't see any files on your sd card. I hope you're not making the basic mistake of placing the folder on the sd card because the unit will not recognise anything if it's contained in a folder. You must only copy the bare files or the folder contents to the sd card.

Installing Speed Cameras on The Amundsen MIB2 - Free Database and Quite Simple to Do!
Yup I've definitely exported it correctly - unfortunately I can only go with the database that's shared and it's from the exact same sharer and exact same database source. I even downloaded it twice because I myself even noticed that it contained a couple of files less than previous source downloads but it's out of my control.

I'm sorry to hear that but that's out of my control. I'm using the same database ( SCDB ) from the same contributor as the July ones. I would revert to using the July ones for now and then check them again in my next upload. That's not saying they will return though - that's out of my hands I'm afraid.

Oil Pressure Warning Light
Ok - just an update - we've solved the issue. As I suspected it was a fractured/broken wire which was causing all the issues. It's our belief that it was most probably caused by work that was done by the main dealer when changing a crankshaft sensor as the the issues started happening shortly after the car came back from them. Obviously this cannot be proven but at least we've sorted the problem. Happy days!!

Oil Pressure Warning Light
No but we will look into finding someone who can perform this. Thanks for the suggestion.

Oil Pressure Warning Light
Hi - my mate has a 2.0L diesel Octavia iv 2023 hatchback which has the oil pressure warning light along with a couple of other error codes persistently returning despite clearing the codes several times and completing the following maintenance jobs as advised by different mechanics. He has replaced the egr valve, oil pressure switch, oil pressure solenoid, wet oil belt ( along with checking and cleaning the oil strainer ), air flap actuator and both water pump c's. It's doing his absolute nut in so I've posted here in the hope that someone can offer any advice or suggestions. I have also included his obd11 log below. Personally it looks like to me as if there maybe an electrical issue but the local auto electrician couldn't find any issue. We both have no faith in our local main dealer after receiving the car overfilled with oil on one occasion after a service and noticing that the fuel filter had been drilled and a wrong screw fitted on another service occasion. Any pointers will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks. Installing Speed Cameras on The Amundsen MIB2 - Free Database and Quite Simple to Do!
Hi assybish - sorry to hear about your issue. I actually have the audible alerts turned off for my normal driving but I've had a quick test passing 4 known cameras in my locality and the audible warning worked as expected in both directions. Admittedly the alert was low in volume and it seemed to me as if the alert distance was a bit further away from the camera location than I expected but that's the standard settings. I would firstly suggest doing a hard reset of your entertainment unit. On the Amundsen MIB2 you just press and keep holding the power button until it knocks off but do not release the pressed button until the unit's splash screen turns back on. It usually takes about 15 to 20 seconds. This procedure does not alter any settings or change anything else so is perfectly safe to do without any consequences. I normally delete my current stored speedcams from the unit before I put my new ones on to avoid any possible data corruption. Are you doing the same? Failing that the only other suggestion I can make is to try a new redownload of my files just in case your original download had a slight corruption.

Amundsen MIB2 (HW H41) – ECE 2025 map update missing metainfo2.txt
Yea - I see what you mean. I've got no experience of MIB3 units only the MIB2 ones. MIB2 Amundsens must have the original sd card in them at all times while the MIB2 Columbus is a completely different method. Any third party sd card can be used to upgrade the map. The map is then stored in the onboard memory of the actual unit and therefore the sd card can be removed or deployed for another use. As you say MIB3 might be completely different and only the contents need to be copied to the sd card. The original poster did say his unit was a MIB2 though. As long as the file structure is kept to the same layout as his original sd card then he shouldn't have a problem but unfortunately he didn't do a backup.
-
Amundsen MIB2 (HW H41) – ECE 2025 map update missing metainfo2.txt
Yup - you're partly correct. I shall explain. This applies to the Amundsen MIB2 unit. The terms that are generally used are " nested " or " nesting ". The units will not recognise files if they are nested within another folder. So, for instance, if you extract a downloaded map then the result will be an extracted folder with the name of the map on it. if you then copy that folder to the sd card then the unit will not see the folder named " maps " or its contents because they are nested inside another folder. This is a common mistake that many people make. I still have my original Skoda Amundsen MIB2 sd card and I can confirm that the only folder on there is the " maps " folder so the the proper method of updating your maps is to delete the old " maps " folder and just copy the new " maps " folder in its place so it is in the exact format of the original card. Saying that, I also know from experience, that the sd card should work with just the contents of the " maps " folder copied to the sd card i.e. unnested.

Amundsen MIB2 (HW H41) – ECE 2025 map update missing metainfo2.txt
I can confirm that the metainfo.txt is definitely NOT needed so that's not your issue. I've never used it when I've updated my Amundsen MIB2 maps and I've never had an issue so your problem must lie elsewhere. I know this is obvious but I will re-iterate the following just in case. Firstly, with an Amundsen unit you can only use an official Skoda/VW sd card to use the map and this sd card must be kept in the unit permanently. Other sd cards won't work unless you perform a hack using the MIB2TOOL. Secondly, only the extracted folder named " maps " should be on the sd card. Thirdly and finally, your issue may be due to corrupted data. I've always used WinRAR to extract the map downloads and you should extract the folder to your pc NOT directly to your sd card. Once its been extracted to your pc then copy the " maps " folder to your formatted sd card. This is assuming that you're using a Windows PC - it's well documented that a linux system will sometimes add files to the extracted folder and cause issues. Also bear in mind that the Skoda Update portal is notorious for hosting corrupted map downloads. You're better off using the VW map links posted in this forum. They're usually 6 or 7 months ahead of the Skoda releases and are exactly the same maps but are renamed by Skoda. The links are here:

Skoda Octavia mark 3 Sat nav update
I wouldn't panic if I was you. It could merely be a corrupt download. I'm assuming your unit is the Amundsen so you must use the original Skoda sd card. From what you describe your unit is not recognising the contents of the sd card. Just format the card again and make sure you DO NOT extract the map to the sd card. Instead, simply extract the map to a folder on your pc then copy and paste the extracted folder named " maps " to your sd card. You don't need to copy the 2 other files if they're present. They're not needed. If that doesn't work then re-download the map and try using winzip or winrar to extract the map.

Installing Speed Cameras on The Amundsen MIB2 - Free Database and Quite Simple to Do!
I would say it's due to the merging of some categories and one of the icons being removed along with the ( invisible to the end user ) camera description data being edited by me when compiling them that's made them smaller in size. Overall the actual camera locations should be the same taking into account any removal or addition of cameras. No negative feedback so far but in any case I will be uploading very shortly a new compilation which will be in the usual original format thanks to a new contributer.

Android Auto Enable
Here's the trick to get his attention. Put the @ symbol in front of his name like this: @Andymod and then he will be notified of this post and if you're lucky he may message you. It's only a 2 minute job to activate those settings. If you was in the South Wales area ( God's country ) I would do it for free for you. An OBD11 is worth investing in if you want to do other mods.
