  1. Inside black rims, they would even use weights that are painted black instead of the natural bare lead look.
  2. I too always keep the keyfob in the trouser pocket, together with house keys and change. So my wife has sewn a custom pouch made of thin leather. The keyfob never leaves the pouch, as the Kessy function works unhindered and I can locate the right button through the thin leather when I need it (to temporarily disable Kessy or to open all four windows). Keyfob like new after 16 months.
  3. Just to make certain that my expression "pry the old battery out" above doesn't mislead someone. In fact, you are not supposed to lift the battery from the resting position by levering with the flat tip screwdriver. Such a brute force action might actually brake the retaining tab. The proper approach seems to be to turn the screwdriver blade in the receptacle (as if undoing a screw), which pushes the battery against the springy contact and slides it from under the retaining tab. My keyfobs are the MY2019 edition.
  4. Haha, that never happens, I carry my driving license in it.
  5. Thanks for the hint, Gomezz. I'm already following your example. I added a small tool, made of thin SS sheet, which helps to pry the old battery out.
  6. How did you silence the alarm?
  7. QI6: flexible service interval, oil change after 2 years max. QI1: fixed service interval, oil change after 5000 km or 1 year QI2: fixed service interval, oil change after 7500 km or 1 year QI3: fixed service interval, oil change after 10000 km or 1 year QI4: fixed service interval, oil change after 15000 km or 1 year. QI4 is what mine is set to.
  8. Castrol Magnatec 5W-40 complies with the VW 502 00 standard, thus being the right oil for annual change.
  9. I've never had a Yeti but from here: https://www.skoda-auto.de/service/serienbereifung it appears that Yeti came with two different 16" rims, neither of them matching those approved for Karoq.
  10. I'm happily running at the lower (1st row) sticker figures, which on 4x4's, fitted with 225 mm wide tyres, are factory set 0.2 Bar higher (see pictures above).
  11. Here in Slovenia, I also got the Castrol Magnatec Pro 5W-40 at the first annual service.
  12. Let's not forget that 4x4's come with 225 wide tyres vs. the 215 width of the 2x4.
  13. Quoting from this site: https://www.wewantanycar.com/news/car-speedo-how-fast-are-you-going/ "The current UK law is based on the EU standard with some minor changes… A speedometer must never read less than the actual speed or show more than 110% of actual speed + 6.25mph. " Hence, to be safely within the prescribed tolerance, most manufacturers calibrate the speedometers to about 105% actual.
  14. The Karoq online manual says 6J:
  15. The official chainable wheels for Karoq are 6Jx16 ET43 with 215/60 tyres, They require no spacers. I bought these, which are also compatible with the OEM bolts. Affordable and quite decent looking. Let alone drive comfort... https://www.platin-wheels.com/en/wheels/alloy-wheel/platin-p-93-black/
  16. You should have kept the parking brake engaged while starting reversing. The brake would release automatically when the torque applied is high enough to push the car uphill without any slack.
  17. agedbriar replied to Channel's topic in Skoda Karoq
One of the early review videos showed a 4x4 Karoq climbing a twisted ramp. As one of the wheels lost ground contact and started spinning, it was immediately slowed down to a turning speed that seemed to about match the speed of the wheels in traction. From that, I assume that it would pass the roller test you describe.

And I felt like a dino' for disliking the OEM silver trim around the windows and silver rails... 😄
  19. You guys should taste the luxury of the 16" wheels that I mount in winter. 😊
  20. The offset should be ET45.
  21. The prescribed tightening torque of the wheel bolts is 140 Nm.
