Alternator output
I disable Start-Stop too. But we still have to deal with the frugal battery charging algorithm, which often brings us home with an only partly charged battery, which in turn leads to premature battery sulfation (taking place when the battery is resting below 12.4V). Quite inappropriate for lockdown times. Moreover, the battery voltage dropping speed at rest on my wife's 2006 Golf is much lower than on my 2019 Karoq. Due to all the electronics on standby, I presume. Is the Start-Stop disable button banned already?

Alternator output
The battery charging algorithm avoids charging at the expense of fuel consumption for as long as that policy is sustainable. But driving downhill I'm getting 15,0V, i.e. fast battery charging for free. The voltage drops as soon as the engine starts pulling again. To charge the ESB battery with my Ctek MXS 5.0 charger, I select the conventional battery mode, which tops at 14.4V (while in the AGM mode it would top at 14.7V). In fact, the newer Ctek CT5 Start-Stop model, apparently designed to fit both ESB and AGM technologies, doesn't go higher than 14.55V.

Changes for MY22
My son says that I start to like a car style only when the new one is announced.

Changes for MY22
Must say that I prefer the current, smoother front.

Skoda tyre pressure monitor
That makes sense, thank you.

Skoda tyre pressure monitor
What does the ABS-based monitor memorize then, if the car is static at reset time?
-
Skoda tyre pressure monitor
Being ABS-based, shouldn't the Karoq tyre pressure monitor be reset while driving? The manual doesn't specify.

Are all Karoq 2.0tdi 4x4?
In Slovenia, the 1.5TSI DSG 4x4 has been on the list for only about a fortnight in February 2019. But after nine month's wait for it, I was ready and placed the order in time, not knowing it would vanish.

Wheel question
6J x 16" ET43 are factory approved rims and of course they do clear the brakes (I use them with winter tyres), but the calibration weights used must be low-profile.
-
Wheel question
Skoda doesn't list any 6.5J rims, but the approved 6J rims are ET43 and 7J are ET45. Hence, 6.5J ET41 seem a bit off.

Driver's side windshield wiper adjustment
If the wipers are parked higher than as factory set, they may get caught and forced up by the rotating bristles on the auto wash line. Happened to me with the previous Octavia. The wipers were in their original position, but the auto wash line was just opened and the bristles still new and stiff.

Driver's side windshield wiper adjustment
Mine do the same as what your first picture shows. Original squeaky wipers and Bosch Aerotwins alike. Your second picture seems to show a wider unwiped section, though. Edit: Have just taken a measure and yes, the unwiped section width is an even 6 cm. A lot, sure, but I wouldn't want the wipers to rest that much higher if that was the only solution.

Karoq 1.5TSI PF
Mine is a DADA as well (MY19). Does that make the 5W40 oil suitable?
-
Karoq 1.5TSI PF
Thank you for the tip, xman. I'll investigate and discuss the issue with the Skoda representative. It's funny though, that the manual redirects the user to the specialist garage to learn what the correct engine oil specification for their vehicle is. I wonder if, in this situation, the car owner could object to the specialist's choice of oil without jeopardizing the warranty.

Karoq 1.5TSI PF
My 2019 1.5TSI has just had the second annual oil change at the official Skoda service facility. Both times it got Castrol Pro 5W40 oil. I think it was the Magnatec line, which is supposed to better cling to the metal surfaces while at rest (for more effective lubrication in the first seconds the engine is started), but isn't recommended for variable service intervals.

4 Wheel drive
It's worth noting that with 4 wheel drive you also get a more robust DSG transmission with oil bath clutches and a 4-link rear suspension.

New car spec slightly changed from advertised.
Going from manual to DSG is like getting married: not everything is quite your way anymore, but things still work surprisingly fine.

KESSY: Unresponsive passenger door handle
Got it, thank you.

KESSY: Unresponsive passenger door handle
Checked again today: two days of rest are enough to put the passenger door handle to sleep. Thanks to everyone who replied - I feel reassured.

KESSY: Unresponsive passenger door handle
When that happens, can you unlock by the key fob button or must you turn the old-fashioned key in the lock?
-
KESSY: Unresponsive passenger door handle
If that really is a battery saving feature, I can easily live with it. What I'm worried about is that it may be the beginning of a problem that will fully manifest itself after the warranty expires.
-
KESSY: Unresponsive passenger door handle
Could be, as it works flawlessly once awaken. If so, more users must have noticed the feature (the times are right ) and will perhaps chime in.
-
KESSY: Unresponsive passenger door handle
If my car has been sitting for a few days, gripping the passenger door handle doesn't trigger the unlocking as it should, while the driver's door handle, the Start button and boot lock work as expected. Unlocking the doors from the driver's side and even opening and closing the boot (which doesn't unlock the doors), brings the passenger door handle back to life for as long as the car is used frequently enough. A fresh key fob battery doesn't help, neither does wiping the offending handle with alcohol nor using the spare key fob. And the car battery state of charge is solid as well. Anyone with similar experience?

Trouble auto locking car
It comes so natural to grab the handle while touching the sensor with the thumb...
