  1. Dam i cant remember the size but i emailed jabba directly and they sold me a pair at a decent price.
  2. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=111028806608 If my phone copied it correctly its this one.
  3. If you are doing your bushes ur self and u can afford the extra £40-50 cost id replace.them male sure they come with new ball joints too if ur worried about the tracking. As for the bushes id recommend powerflex. Alot easier to fit than the seat ones but cost double (£45ish)
  4. TBH if I have to take the sump off either way then I may just get a steel one and hopefully not have this issue in the future. Is it confirmed that the vRS 13 PD engine doesn't have an oil sensor level?
  5. Well a true Helicoil kit is around £55 on Machine Mart - Link, a cheaper kit off eBay is around £24 Link However a steel sump is around £30 (Topran off eBay) but I'm unsure which to get. Does the Fabia have an oil level sensor?
  6. Is there any current risk of leakage?
  7. Hello, My GF has the above Fabia which has drums on the rear and discs on the front. I have a few questions regarding this: 1, I recently upgraded to 312mm brakes on my MK1 vRS. Could my older setup fit hers directly or do I need to buy new carriers/hub? 2, How easy is it to fit discs on the rear? 3, Does anyone know what size discs are normally on her car? Thanks.
  8. I've services my car today and while I was re-fitting the sump plug it failed to tighten completely. While I can't move the plug with my fingers it will move with little force using a socket. After looking on here people seem to think that a replacement sump is required due to the alloy sump thread giving up. Is this the best option? Are there better after market sumps that don't have this issue? Also would the car be OK to drive? After sorting out the oil levels I've left the engine on tick over and couldn't see any leaks.
  9. Couldn't you use a catch can or something similar - only concern is a I have new drive way so don't face oil stains lol
  10. Isn't the dirt going to collect on the engine tray?
  11. When you say no additives were added do you mean you just added the normal mixed ratio of water and coolant? Also I had this issue and topped the level just above the max line - turns out when I replaced the bottle it must be sitting in a slightly non-oem position as it resolved the issue.
  12. IIRC you need to remove the battery to top up the gear box oil. I may be wrong.
  13. Which type of adapter does everyone use? Ive googled elm327 and there seems to be a fair few different models.
  14. I beleive it has a lower one already. Are you looking to fit one to the rear?
  15. It would prob last you a few years but I wouldn't be suprised if you have to replace items like worn console bushes/wishbones etc - esp on a car of that age.
  16. I've swapped CV joints on other cars before - plan for a full day in case you run into trouble. it's do-able but as mentioned some tools are required that might not be in a DIY'er tool box.
  17. I believe it depends how low you want to go. Have a search of the forum as it's been asked before.
  18. I'd say 10 years ago that could have made the cover of Rev's now it's a dated look along with TSW Venoms lol
  19. I always prefer to see how issues are resolved as it helps people when they use the search function. With this said I believe I've fixed the issue. While I wasn't below the minimum indicator level I topped up the bottle to the maximum line (note never fill the bottle up! ) and I haven't seen the light since. So either we've placed the bottle slightly out of line or the indicator marks on this 3rd party bottle are out. Thanks to all who replied.
  20. I beleive they did a full geometry check. At the time the car was still running on the worn tyres but only did so for another 2 days (once I got the part worns on). Also AFAIK you can't change the the rear of a fabia as it's a fixed axel (acording to awesome)...
  21. Just a note my wheels are 17" Spiders and I run 17/40/215 - I take it the pressure doesn't change?
  22. The tracking was done a day after the track rod ends were replaced and a few days later I had the tyres replaced. Also the car isn't lowered. I'll post a pic of the wear tomorrow and AFAIK the tyre pressure is around 34psi for the front.
  23. OK so I'm still getting uneven tyre wear on my car. The inside of the drivers side is wearing quicker than other edges. In the past (last 12 months) I have replaced the following items (on both sides): Console Bushes (Power flex std ones) front and back. Drop Links Wishbone & Ball Joints Track rod ends I've also had Awesome GTI do the tracking as I felt the cheaper national garage might not be doing a "proper" job. They found nothing strange. I replaced the fronts with part worns after I did the track rod ends but recently have noticed the inside of the drivers side wearing quicker than others. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm pretty stuck as to what else could be causing this. Thanks.
  24. The 312mm setup is very good and looks great.
