  1. Hmm if your doing the work yourself I'd suggest the following: Jabba RARB - £200 ish Powerflex Bushes for console, anti-roll bar - £70ish for both Powerflex Dog-mount bush (some one here don't like it but I don't mind) £45ish 312mm Brake system £250ish Maybe some new tyres/wheels depending on what ur running. Perhaps a new head unit or a leather retrim.
  2. TBH I regularly pop into 6th at around 45ish. On a motorway trip I'm lucky to get 450ish. If it's driving to work and back I usually get around 330-350ish as I tend to be heavy footed.. lol
  3. OK take it with a pinch of salt because I don't beleive the computer however I did a journey down to London earlier this year and by the time I came off the M25 my car was reporting 72mpg! Now I didn't go over 60mph and most of the journey between stoke and the toll road was sitting at around 45mph (traffic - not my choice) so the trip was pretty boring but it does rack up the mpg rating Urban use I normally get around 45-50mpg while 60mph motorway use normally sees 55-65mpg. Again all the MPG figures are what the computer in the car claims.
  4. I think either Aldo or Lidl have a caliper that is pretty handy for messuring the thickness of discs etc - only £9 IIRC.
  5. Also add a little copper grease on the rear of the pads. This should stop them from squeeling as much. Also check to see how thick the discs are on the surface (not the rusted outer edge). Some times they'll wear below the limit but with new pads on it'll be hard to tell.
  6. I did run Hankook V12's which weren't bad. I moved to T1R but have found them to wear pretty badly around the edges. Car set is fine and I will be moving back to V12's once the part worns I have wear out. Just a note - I think the Toyo T1R's are now discontinued.
  7. Christ - I still haven't put mine on - bought it back in 2008 from seat for £22 (IIRC). As usual stealers putting their prices up :(
  8. Ahhh didn't realise it was a PD - same oil as my vRS - nice one. Might see if I can get a large drum of it
  9. Best of putting a post up in the Wanted section.
  10. Thanks for the reply. Do you know what VAG rated oil you use?
  11. Seems to be the going rate for dealers although I have hear of quotes around the £500 mark! I replaced mine at 61k but a lad at work replaces his every 40k (he drives a Golf though).
  12. Christ I didn't even think about looking at it! D'oh! lol Thanks for the pointer.
  13. Does any one have or know of a guide to remove, clean and refit the EGR on a Fabia vRS? I've had a look in the Technical Guides section there just seem to be the Delete Guide.
  14. Most VAG cars suggest replacing it every 40k so the dealer is right that they suggest replacing it at around 120k. TBH I'd get a quote and ring around - some dealers charge a small fortune.
  15. I have access to VAGCOM and I was wondering if there is anything on the mk1 vRS that can be enabled or changed via it? So far I've carried out a standard scan but nowt much else. Cheers.
  16. Hello, Mid last year my missus purchased a mk2 Fabia 1.4 TDi. It's a basic model (IE no glove box etc) but has AC. While I found the filters it takes are the same as my mk1 vRS does the 1.4 engine also take the same 505.01 engine oil? Also besides adding a seat storage box is there any other cheap-ish mods that improves the day to day use of this cheap and cheerful runner?
  17. Well the tank was fitted when I carried out a cam belt change at the start of the year. It pinged today while the engine was heating up (needle around the quarter mark) - any other suggestions?
  18. Check your water. If a HG has gone you get a milky deposit on the cap. It's an MG pic but the deposit is the same:
  19. My Dad use to do this for his Occy but the Fabias is covered over and part of the plastic tank. Hence the replacement of the tank/sensor. I'll try topping it to the brim.
  20. Thats pretty handy - I didn't know they did different versions so I've just got the std replacements.
  21. About a year ago my car started off showing the engine coolant warning light on start up however once the needle had moved off the bottom a engine restart would clear the issue. Around a month ago I replaced the coolant bottle as the common resolve with this fault seems to be the sensor. A month has passed with no problems except it's started doing it again. The coolant level is correct (around 5mm off max). Can anyone help with this issue?
  22. I have to say my rear osf door panel rattles. TBH I've never gotten round to sorting it out. :(
  23. Have you tried Hobins? theres not bad but I haven't a clue on prices. I know Awesome are a VAG specialist and their based in Irlam.
  24. I've had my vRS SE from new back in may of 2007. not as much as others on here.
