  2. The oil leak is at the front of the engine, possibly the sensor as it's a very small leak. Two part worn tyres are Β£60 and they are nearly new, it's not worth putting new tyres on now as I do low mileage in a year.
  3. I've had the exhaust advisory on the last 3 mot's but the inner case is fine so I just ignore that one. There was plenty of tread on the tyres still, but that's not included as I get my tyres done somewhere else.
  4. The car just passed it's MOT by the skin of it's teeth. I've been quoted with parts and labour nearly Β£800, that's not including the exhaust or tyres. I had the front tyres replaced, and it's only outer part of the silencer that's corroded. The front tyres lasted well as I had them put on 12 years ago when I first got the car.
  5. I know the blokes at Fakenham tyres just 20 minutes down the road would do that for me, they are a good bunch there. They were the ones who welded a new flexi pipe onto my cat to save me money.
  6. They are pretty good at that garage. It's worth the 45 minutes drive to go there. They don't charge you for the use of the car you have, you just have put your own fuel in it.
  7. Got my car back 😊 bill wasn't as much as I thought it would be.
  8. Thanks for that sepulchrave, that's even better.
  9. They only knew what I told them had happened on the phone. I was going along & had a loud bang & something came off the car & hit the road, then when I was going uneven/bumpy road I was getting a knocking noise which seemed to be at the back & sometimes seemed to go along the whole of the passenger side. Because the garage is about 45 mins from where I live they only got a chance to look at the car late Tuesday afternoon.
  10. Hopefully it not going to cost as much as I thought then.
  11. It must be the front then. The mechanic said he wasn't happy with the thread on the drive shaft when he had it off to do the spring so he decided to replace it. I don't really know much about the drive shafts apart from cv joints and bushes.
  12. Has anyone any ideas on how much to replace the suspension spring and drive shaft on the rear passenger side
  13. He couldn't see exactly where the leak was coming from, but he said it was definitely at the front, he said if the seal has gone there is a thin wire that goes into the sensor and the oil tends to run down that wire and drip off it.
  14. I've had the car for 8 years and not had them done. She's doing pretty well for an old galπŸ˜†.
  15. The car passed it's mot with some advisories. I have had the exhaust on the last three, it's only the outer skin on the silencer. He said the oil leak is most likely where the oil pressure sensor is the seal probably just needs replacing. The bushes will need doing before next mot. They're ringing me back later with a price for the bushes and oil leak to be done.
  16. No I have cleared today and took it for a run and it hasn't come back on so far.
