  1. They first will release a fix to solve the problem when coolant is cold and then when they have complains that it kangaroos when warm, they will relase another in a year or so.
  2. VW and motor manufacturers in general never come out to admit a fault or "characteristic" of one of their engines. In the best case scenario they will come back with a fix that will apply every time someone complains or if its hardware they will replace under warranty. There is history with VW and their engines stalling in diesel-polos a few years ago, when driving in first gear under 2000 revs. They claimed back then, for a long time, that it was purely due to personal driving fault and nothing to do with the engine. Not to mention the early 1.4 TSIs that very oftenly had an engine failure (pistons). Mechanical + software issue which they covered under extended warranty if you were lucky. Recalls only refer to safety issues unfortunately.
  3. Honest review from an honest site!
  4. Do you recall having the "over-revving" together with the "kangarooing"? Because i had the 1st on my 1.5 tsi manual Karoq but i experienced the 2nd only after a software update i also had.
  5. The first cars did not have that "feature". So the magazines did not experience the kangarooing (not sure about Australia :P).
  6. Well it had another behavior. It would rev up the minute you started releasing the clutch without any throttle. The revs were very sensitive when pulling away. It was something you got used to very quickly and did not bother me. Back then i thought it was a simple anti-stall mechanism but now it comes to thought that it was just a way to camouflage the "feature" of kangarooing.
  7. I got mine end of June and did not have this behavior initialy. After a software update of the ECU, the problem appeared. So it must me from some point onwards that they have the problem.
  8. Disapointing VW group, once again and Skoda is no different unfortunately.
  9. When will they stop this Bull-**** anyway?
  10. Could that be the ECO mode at low speeds (2 cylinder mode)?
  11. In my case, i test drove the car and it didn't do it. Nor did mine until i had the ECU update. Thus i was convinced that it could be corrected with software. As I’ve said before when bought the car, the revs would go up without foot at gas pedal when releasing the clutch. Something you easily adapt to and quite liked it since the car would never stall. I've started thinking now that this was not an anti-stall mechanism but it was a way to "hide" the kangaroo problem. But eventually it caused other problems and thus the ECU update. Maybe it is a built issue after all and won’t be easily solved L
  12. They advise the dealers not to tun any inspections/ or maintenance regarding the problem and that there is no fix available at the moment. As soon as there is one they will update the TPI. The communication was with the service manager of the skoda dealership and he replied with what i wrote above
  13. Here in Greece, i mentioned the problem to my dealer's service manager and he responded that the information they have from SKODA is : At the moment there is no fix and as soon as there is one available it will be updated in a TPI. This means they r aware of the issue and they are working on it. It cannot get more official than that
  14. I read an article a while ago that pointed out that VW has fired many head engineers from their RnD after the diesel gate (as this was their fault) and as a consequently they have lost the brains to cope with the changes of WLTP and most probably the ability to solve such problems quickly and effectively.
  15. In addition do you all guys experience the problem with cold engine? or Any time? I do the latter.
  16. Could you tell us what are the other issues you are facing with the car?
  17. Plus when is your car built/ baought?
  18. I still don't get it. The maping o f pre-WLTP models is by definition different from the WLTP ones. Why should we have the same softwrare? That will be a huge down-grade to our performance, propably. It just gets worst and worst
  19. If it is a characteristic, then why is there a fix being developed? It doesn't make sense. It is pure bullshi**ing by formal lips. It is sad. It is definitely not a characteristic, since in my case, it was not present when i bought the car but it only appeared after an ECU update. I believe there will be a fix though that hopefully will not have a counter effect. Someone mentioned WLTP would be a reason to slow things down but it is not, because our cars are pre-WLTP productions thus any update simply does not have to comply with WLTP.
  20. Bear in mind that the 1.5 TSI runs in Miller cycle (hence the rougher noise, especially in ACT mode) and in general is quite different from the 1.4 TSI. It has a lot of improvements in order to reduce tempertures in the cylinders and every part of the engine. So that to achieve better fuel consumption and overall performance-emissions.
  21. My car is a Karoq 1.5 TSI manual and according to the skoda app was built in June. I had a software update after an ECU fault that occurred followed by weird behavior of the engine. The fact is that i had am ECU version f around 400 and went to 600 something. Since then i have the Kangaroo problem. Until then i only had the reeving a bit high effect at pulling away, which was easy to adapt to.
