Chargers compatible with Elroq 85
Actually, ignore that. I worked out you needed to set home as a saved charging location first and then it all appeared.

Chargers compatible with Elroq 85
Hi. I’ve just got an Elroq 85 and Hypervolt charger. First time I tried a scheduled charge using the Hypervolt app to schedule it, it charged correctly. Last 2 nights though it won’t charge via the schedule. You mention you used the Škoda app to set a time based schedule. I don’t know if I’m going mad but I can’t see any settings in that app to set a schedule. Can you tell me where it is please? Thank you.

Octavia taken off sale (possibly)
Dealer says they can’t spec any either, and oddly for an SEL for example what they can search is showing as a 1.4tsi 150 (ie non iV), not a 1.5. Be interesting to see when they come back on sale what has changed.

Software
Is it bought or leased? If leased go to the lease company and make it their problem, that’s how I got mine sorted so quickly. Skoda customer services / dealer couldn’t care less, VWFS stepped in and within a week I had various options / offers. None of them fixed the car, but there were various incentives put on the table, in the end I chose to get shut and order something else.

Yep my car was an absolute disaster area. I’m not surprised VWFS took it back so eagerly though (even returned my deposit pro Rata) as they knew it would be straight in to the dealer network as an approved used car and in current climate would sell for loads.

My returned 2020 SE Tech was put on a Skoda main dealer forecourt within days for £24k.

Anyone actually happy with their MK4? 😂
Mine has been collected this morning, no doubt will be on a forecourt in about a week. More new issues over last couple of weeks including two activations of emergency braking for no reason at all, and a complete failure of the instrument panel (not the infotainment screen) and a red EML. BMW 128ti ordered as replacement.

Anyone actually happy with their MK4? 😂
Nope. Hate it. Fortunately the lease company have upheld my complaint and it’s being collected 2 weeks today and I’ll be shut of it. On top of all the other issues, tonight it has developed the popping noise and then activated the sos emergency system. Then as soon as I dropped someone off in the centre of Manchester (which I’m unfamiliar with) CarPlay and Satnav packed in, seemingly triggered by someone getting out of the back door, leaving me with no clue where I was going. Anyway I’ve ordered a new car, definitely not from VAG. The only positive was how helpful VWFS have been in the last couple of weeks. I feel sorry for the poor person who is going to buy this car used.

Talking to the lease company has done the trick, they called today with 2 options, both very good, and I’m incredibly happy that they have stepped in to sort it for me.

I suspect Simpsons will be getting mine back soon, case currently with Skoda UK case manager. I’ve mentioned this potential theory before, but it’s been hot here the last few days and it is playing up more than usual again. Exactly same thing happened when we had a hot spell in July, literally every day there were multiple issues with it. Might just be coincidence, but if the hardware is struggling to stay cool that could explain some of the issues. Exactly the same as with a PC or laptop when they get hot, the performance is impacted.

Software
Yep I suspect the older units are lower spec and therefore prone to more software issues, so replacing the hardware is the logical solution. They won’t want to do that too often though as it will cost them.

Software
Yep the dealers go to great lengths to make out that you’re a special case 😂. They know full well you don’t believe a word they say. I just straight laughed at them when they tried it with me. Waiting for VWFS to come back to me about my car, it’s still not fixed so as owners of the car I’m making it their problem.

VRS iV seems to have a mind of it's own
I never use the in car satnav, only either apple or google maps via CarPlay. When CarPlay is working properly that is!

VRS iV seems to have a mind of it's own
Yep has been in 3 times now for a long list of software issues, have had the car since new in October 2020. This was their last chance to sort before I contact the lease company (fortunately it’s Skoda Lease / VWFS rather than an independent) to ask them to get involved. I suspect you are right and the software is as up to date as the hardware allows, so only changing the hardware will resolve the issues. To be honest though I’m happy it’s a lease car and only on a 24 month lease so I can give it back in just over 12 months. If I owned the car I’d be a lot more upset about it.

VRS iV seems to have a mind of it's own
I’m sure that detail was populated before it went in for the update. It’s a 1.5tsi se tech estate I think made august or September 2020.

VRS iV seems to have a mind of it's own
Mine doesn’t have a letter at the end of the device part number. Have had so many issues, latest updates applied by dealer last week (although the software version still seems to be some way behind what others have), still got issues. Next up is a letter to the lease company to complain about the car to see what they will do about it.

This is the same Simpsons Skoda service dept who told me on Monday when I picked mine up they’ve fixed every car which has been in for these issues and nobody has come back to them with any issues I guess…
-
Software
And if any of this isn’t done properly / funded / prioritised / tested you get the issues we’re seeing.

Just picked mine up from Simpsons in Preston. They assured me it now has the latest software and is now all sorted. Also assured me that half a dozen others had been in for updates and none had experienced issues since. That’s confidence for you! Software version on mine now is 1668 which clearly isnt the latest version, but may be the latest version available for my unit. Will give it a chance to see how it goes.

Software
That’s my view too. Tomorrow will be the second attempt / chance to fix it. If it’s not sorted after that then it’s a conversation with the lease company (VWFS) about reducing the monthly payments. I’d happily give it back completely tomorrow and end the lease agreement but with the delays for new cars at the moment that’s not feasible. I’ve never disliked a car as much as this one.

Software
Mine goes in on Monday for the software issues, although it’s been behaving a bit better the last couple of weeks. It was far worse when the weather was really hot, literally every day there were multiple issues with it for about 2 weeks. Only had a handful of issues with front assist / unresponsive screen and steering wheel controls in the last couple of weeks. Probably completely coincidental of course!

Software
Mine is going there on the 16th for a load of software issues to be looked at. Will be interesting to know how you get on. They weren’t surprised by the list of issues I gave them, but I don’t hold out much hope unless VW have got more recent software updates for them to apply.

Software
Mine is booked in the be looked at in a few weeks for a very long list of software issues. The dealer wasn’t surprised by most of the list, I suspect they are very used to them. I do sympathise with them though, I work in IT and nothing is more difficult than trying to diagnose and fix an intermittent software issue. I suspect whoever gets to look at my car will just shake their head, update the software and send it back out again. Not a lot else they can do. VW are responsible for not testing the software properly and then not putting enough resource into understanding and fixing the bugs and rolling the fixes out quickly. I suspect my best course of action is to see if the issues are resolved when I get the car back, and if they are still there contact VWFS and arrange a reduction on the monthly lease cost.

Software
Been off here for a while, but just checking in as the software on my car is a disaster so wanted to see if anyone had any solutions. Software was updated at the dealers a couple of months back following numerous issues, improved for a little bit but now is worse than ever. Every day for the last 2 weeks there has been at least one issue. Park assist errors (rear sensors intermittently not working), front assist warning messages, seatbelt pre tensioner warnings, unresponsive infotainment screen where nothing works at all, CarPlay not connecting, radio stations wiped, no sound from stereo, rear passenger compartment interior light coming on on its own and staying on, steering wheel controls not working, refusing to switch between connected phones, infotainment system restarting and then getting stuck on spinning wheel, the car is a mess. I’ll be calling the dealer again on Monday when back from holiday and also contacting VWFS as the lease company, this is genuinely the worst car I’ve ever had. Not good when on holiday wanting to go to unfamiliar places and having no idea which bit of the car is not going to work on any given day. The only positive is it’s on a short 2 year lease so in just over 14 months I’ll be arranging to give the stupid thing back and never going near any VAG car with this system again.

How good is the Octavia 1.0 TSI?
I have a 1.5 estate, and had a 1.0 Scala as a courtesy car earlier this week. Performance of the 1.0 in the Scala was ok, but the main difference was how much smoother the 1.5 is. No 3 cylinder drone and much less vibration. The fuel economy in the 1.5 was also pretty much identical to the 1.0 on the journey to and from the dealers.
