1.5 TSI misfiring when started from cold
probably. on both cars i didnt feel nothing when driving, normal driving, just until mil occured, when i scanned errors were multiple random misfire detected and missfire detected on cylinder 1, 2, 3, and 4. on renault wrong sparkplugs were in engine, replacing solved missfires and MIL. on tsi intake was full of carbon buildup, after cleaning, also solved..

1.5 TSI misfiring when started from cold
missfires are serious defects detected by ecu and after certain number of them check engine light will occur. if not, those are not missfires, maybe jerking or something, but not classic missfires. with missfires you cant pass MOT. BTW, act i good system, when driving in city when you lift throttle pedal it engages and make lean mixture to clean GPF filter, it is not just about economy. i dont see any economy benefit because driving sporty.

Engine symbol warning light showing yellow
you have to put some OBD2 scanner in port and scan for errors. if you dont have any, go to garage. it can be anything.

Skoda Felicia 1.6 gearbox oil check
it is unusual way to check gearbox oil. if gearbox is not leaking visible, oil level is correct, if it is not changed for years, change oil, you need 1.5 litre ow 75w80 oil and 17 allen key. if you dont have it, use M10 bolt long about 5 cm and put 3-4 M10 nuts on it and tighten them. this should be good as tool.

Scala 1.0TSi (2023) for short trips?
sure, every engine is made for work on torque rpms, not idle.. i always had gasoline cars, this is first DI engined car i have, 75% i drive in rush, but once a month i go to open roads and flooring it hard. since on highway theres noregular control i often go to maximal speed and holding for few minutes. if you do it regularly, no problems, and oil changes in 7000kms max, because half of engine work is in idle or low rpm. it contaminates oil more than anything. i am changing oil every 8 months, its about 6-7000kms, and should be no problem, also i did carbon cleanup from intake ports 1 year ago. this year i will check ports with endoscope camera for deposits. last time was very much, but it was from previous owner. after 80000 kms.

Scala 1.0TSi (2023) for short trips?
Topics title is skoda 2023, so i was thinking he is looking for newer car. VAG last mpi engine was 15 y ago, or dual ported.. other producers had it longer, specially Japanese, Korean cars..

Scala 1.0TSi (2023) for short trips?
but those are all older cars. any car with GPF and euro 6 eko norm have DI.

Scala 1.0TSi (2023) for short trips?
1.5 tsi dont have egr.. in city driving no issues, i drove it for 4 months only in town, average speed 20km/h but driving sporty, full throttle, and then brake from here and there if it is not wet, will keep GPF regenerate normally. it is not functioning like on diesel. combination full throttle driving and no throttle cleans it best, lean driving clogging it. only what is clogging always are intake ports of carbon deposits from oil fumes.

How severe carbon build-up happens to EA288 engines (2.0) ? When to start cleaning?
i had Yeti 2.0 tdi EA189 110 kW and on 150000 kms i removed intake shutdown flap and see 10mm deposit od intake mainfold, all was covered in black dirt, restricting airflow. it is because EGR didnt work properly, many short trips etc. need to be clean earlier, as you say at 100000km.

Type of Oil

Type of Oil
i did, i got answer Dear Sir/Madam, The timing belt replacement interval is 210000 km or 10 years. Best regards
-
Type of Oil
of course I will replace it, I am a trained car mechanic. although I haven't done it for a living for 20 years, but I have done it all myself on all my cars. in fact, I do everything I need to do myself if I can. I cleaned the intake ports by hand and saved 800€, I have a set of ATE brakes, discs amd ceramic pads and fluid and I will replace that soon, and the toothed one, the only difference is that it needs to be set within 2-3°, that inclinometer can measure that, but if you ask me, that's how it should be set that way on every engine. and not half a tooth left, half a tooth right tolerance. now I read on German forums that the interval is 240,000 km or 15 years, although service centers still advise after 10 years.

Has anyone fitted Bilstein B4?
yes improved, but look the difference in construction. B6 are at least one level up from B4. B4 are really same as stock, B6 are not. look at piston diameter, ready for hard condition, and double price in my country. B8 dont even cant buy here..

Type of Oil
why? its same engine like in VW, Seat and Audi. same service intervals. all of them agree its 15 yrs and 180000kms. aldough, mileage is less important, 15 yrs. for tdi was 10 years and 210000 kms last 10 years. on 10 yrs i think is not to early or to late. to late is when belt snaps. there are less components on that side, only camshafts and 2 tensioners. it waterpump is there it will increase force on belt and on pump itself. since pump had its own belt which is not in such tension, pump belt should last forever, longer than tdi oil pump belt, same proportions but alwaxs in contact with oil.
