  1. that's near my in-laws and i use that road quite a bit I'm trying to work out if it happened at the M6 end, or at the roundabout which is half way along
  2. I'm not sure how calculated Bottas is being, either with the qualy run-off which should have slowed down everyone else (esp lewis) or with backing Lewis up to the chasing pack so that his penalty has a worse effect, but if it's helping Lewis realise that he's not going to get everything his own way then I'm not complaining
  3. Something I've not seen people discuss much, either here on in reports of the race was something that David Coulthard said during the C4 commentary when Lewis go handed his 5 second penalty, DC suggested Mercedes should get Bottas to let Hamilton pass, then allow him to build up a gap of the right size (whilst holding up the rest of the pack) so that at the end of the race Bottas would still be 1st and Hamilton could get second, rather than slipping down the order. - too soon for team orders? - if Lewis wants past, let him try it ? - would never work because you can't trust Lewis not to build a bigger gap? - would never work because you can't trust Bottas to hold the others up ? - too many other possible factors (risk of Bottas being overtaken by others) - just a stupid idea showing how biased DC is towards lewis / against Bottas ?
  4. I had the "fix" done. I received a very nice umbrella (which i have since lost - D'Oh), a pen and a travel mug. I saw a reduction in fuel economy of about 10% afterwards. I traded the car in to a dealer last year. I reckon the other condition of the car after 6 years (body/wheel scratches, tires near the limit, due a service etc etc) did more to reduce the trade in price I got than whether or not it had been "fixed". Were the dealers not under obligation to "fix" any cars they received as trade-ins before passing them on anyway?
  5. very nice I still hanker after the W7 KPR in my avatar ( I don't actually own it the photo is from the DVLA website "preview" ) but £400 is a stretch to justify to SWMBO
  6. Fair enough in Carwow if you do submit some sort of request, either with or without options, often the dealers which respond will also have a link to "currently available" cars which might not meet your exact request you put in, but could end up being an acceptable compromise. but yes, in terms of trying to trade off one set of "specifications" against another, carwow isn't that great.
  7. I do a lot of my "what if" car browsing on carwow
