Yep, Water Pump and Thermostat
Wet Kipper replied to ScottyNS's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
well, Skoda UK say "you need to get the Dealer to check it out before we can decide if any Goodwill can apply" and that the diagnostic check would cost £100 It's probably not worth paying even more for the extra check, in the hope that there might be some money off what will likely be a more expensive repair bill -

Resurrecting this thread to say I have a 19 reg vRS 245 with less than 30k miles on it, which gave me the "COOLANT WARNING" beeps 8 weeks apart. Local independant has comfirmed it's the water pump, quoting me all in roughly £900 said it was common thing on some VAG cars due to plastic pump he suggested getting in touch with Skoda to see about a contribution but I'm not sure it's worth trying -
Love the sunflowers, Beefy. We've been growing some, and one of them grew weird at the top making it look heart shaped. We have lots of bees on our ball thistles (echinops?) as well

There's a pottery & crafts cafe near us called Maisie Gray, and the reg on their vehicle is MA15GRY

There's no company name on his van but there's a mobile valet guy in the car park with D12T DR (dirt doctor) on his plate

"This part here is loose - you probably don't notice day-to-day, but I can see when I push it. It'll need to come out and a new one fitted better" "And up here at the back, where you can't see, there's deterioration around an old repair that we'll need to patch up before it gets any worse" "you can have cheaper parts that people might notice, or a less noticeable replacement with a premium product and an associated increase in cost" "I'll send you a quote and you can arrange a time for fixing" No, this was not a dodgy mechanic, looking to get some car repair business from me. It was a check up at the dentist today.

That's exactly what I'm doing. But the right hand part of the clip is facing the wrong way to connect properly

Aww, that makes my annoyance tiny and petty in comparison Starting to prep the car for our holidays (driving+ferry to Holland). First time I've needed to use the straps in the right rear cubby for a warning triangle, and find this. You can't take it off to thread it the right way round

Advice on buying a mk3 vrs
Wet Kipper replied to Phil Tomlin's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Look in the used car section of local main dealers *- the 3 garage dealership group nearest me doesn't put any of their used cars on Auto Trader *yes, yes I know they are likely to be overpriced but it does give you more ideas -
Visually etc. My car of the day -today

Have now seen a black / dark grey iX in the metal at work, it doesn't look too bad to me. -
I think I saw him -the clue was a big help

Why remove the feedback just because you get a refund?

Front differential service VRS 245
Wet Kipper replied to KyleHa's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I asked about it when I collected the car, was told it was "just advisory" and I could get it done another time -
Front differential service VRS 245
Wet Kipper replied to KyleHa's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
My vRS is in for 3 year service today. The visual health check just came back and mentioned the front diff oil (amber) needing changed after 3 years, £110 I had no idea beforehand that it was a job needing doing (have had separate specific emails /adverts about servicing and brake fluid based on car age) nor did they mention it when I called to book it in. They haven't (yet) called me to ask if I want it done today either. -
The Song That Was Stuck in Your Head Today...

This has been in and out of my head for the past few days http://youtu.be/CF2ebEXi-cw -
I guess what's important is the distance from the clip to the free end, rather than the overall length of the blade
-
I need to replace the rear wiper on my vRS estate. The current one is 14 inches long, but when I looked in Halfords the suggested replacements (both own brand and Bosch) were either 16 inches (would be too big) or 13 inches Seems odd that there isn't a direct match. Has anyone else faced this recently? Did you just put up with the decrease in swept area?

C4NVM Not particularly special at first glance, but I needed to remember it after what looked (and sounded) like someone had just slapped a sticker of a reg plate onto a racecar I couldn't place that passed me on the M8 last night. Just looked it up and it was an Ultima Can Am. I guess C4NAM was already taken

Listened to the race this morning in bed, and then actually bothered to watch the C4 highlights in the afternoon.
-
It was a great race - I watched it "Live" and even had the family watching too (it meant bedtime got delayed) That icy chicane did seem a little extreme. I'll need to watch it back again to try and look for Roldo.

Is the racing faster this year?
