  1. My dealer quoted 70 for oil change and 120 for oil change plus filter wash. Car is 3 years old but only 23,000 miles
  2. @linni Please read it again; OP said, "does anyone else have this model and is it OK in the snow?" We are trying to answer that. I have 'offroad' mode on my Yeti and I love the reduced throttle sensitivity. But I agree with a previous post, it won't make any difference if you know how to drive on snow. Some all-season tyres have better snow grip than winter tyres, as shown in one of my posts.
  3. But the OP asked if the car will be good in snow! It won't be on the factory tyres. So our answers might be more helpful than yours.
  4. The Kodiak's ground clearance, even on the Scout, is only 194mm (7.6 inches). Not great for rutted farm tracks! A sump protector would make it even less.
  5. "All 4x4 are good in snow." -rubbish! Even a Defender with the diffs locked is useless on snow unless the tyres get a grip - I know!
  6. OK, but tyres can be asymmetric AND directional. Asymmetric tyre could be fitted on the wheel incorrectly and be an MOT failure. Here's a list of insurance companies showing which ones require you to inform them if you fit winter tyres
  7. What percentage discount?
  8. I checked with Aviva and they said there are no restrictions on fitting snow tyres on either axle. The poilcy says the car must be roadworthy. As far as I can tell, the MOT does not consider the subject so long as tyres are fitted according to any instructions on the sidewall of the tyre - such as direction of rotation for asymmetric tyres.
  9. In a previous house, I had Hive. Installation was included in the cost. It took the British Gas fitter four hours! It worked really well. I normally kept the thermostat in the lounge but, as it's portable, you take it where you are spending most time. I worked at sea and it was great to monitor the house all around the world and to turn the heating on the day before we got home. I also fitted a PIR motion detector which was wireless. In my current house I use Homematic TRVs and room stats. All rather expensive but German engineered.

Update your maps and then see.

You won't see the speed limit unless you are driving.

Did you update the maps? Which map did you choose?
  13. Has anyone actually lost a claim or had one reduced? No assessor checked the damage on my car but it was about £1,000.
  14. I was making the point that you would be in breach if you fitted a tyre size that was not type approved for your model and that would give the insurers grounds to refuse payment. Please suggest what rules you would break by mixing summer and all-seasons. Do insurers actually examine tyres after a RTC?
  15. How could it invalidate the insurance? The tyre sizes and therefore wheels have to comply with type approval. TA says nothing about mixing tyre types so long as they meet speed and load ratings.
  16. Any good? https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=octavia key fob spares

Have you current maps? ECE....20/21 - various versions. If in doubt, go to https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-gb
  18. How could an insurer complain? So long as the car would pass an MOT, mixing summer and winter tyres is inadvisable, but not illegal.
  19. "implausible correlation" - could be a shaky connection caused by the engine's excessive movement.
  20. Could be the engine mounts.
  21. Yup, it's always live on my Yeti. The socket in the boot is not.
  22. Here is a summary of Autobild's review of all season tyres https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sngEHycz7MQb1wPF5Viq8QrAM63SDJ_E/view?usp=sharing The original was in German with silly graphs And anothe review from a great website https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2020-Tyre-Reviews-All-Season-Tyre-Test.htm
  23. Don't mix all-season and 'normal' tyres. If you have to drive in snow, the car could spin. Goodyear all-seasons are very well reviewed. All-season plus summer tyres is even worse.
  24. I lived in a mental hospital until I was 12.
