  1. No issues with temp, 90 all day long, 60 when on longer idle. Never seen a warning light at all re. DPF , DSG not an issue, lowly Caddy van only. FSH with VW van centres until this last service and i'm sure they'd have told us if our treatment could make them money.
  2. so after, say a 2 hr drive home, at M'way /NSL speeds and when you pull up after a 10-12 hr day, IF the tickover is 1000rpm and it smells like a b*****d spitting neat diesel the recommendation is go out until it stops? last few weeks i've spent a good few hrs waiting in an RDC for vehicles to come back and needed to start engine to keep warm. straight into Re-gen mode and still going 45 mins later. normal behaviour? on tickover the engine temp will stay at max 60 'ish deg and never reach normal temp which i'll assume is a VAG feature?
  3. as it's a Co van i have no need to monitor, it fails and out comes the CC. even with a private car i'm not too sure i'd monitor TBH, if it Re-gen's then it's working or at least doing it's 'thing'?
  4. had the 'fix' done to 3 1.6 caddy's i've had over the last 2-3 yrs and i feel all drove better, 1 was a '63 and the other 2 '15 & '65 economy i'm not sure of, certainly no worse, but as they're Company vans....currently showing 52mpg on the MFD pick up seemed better from islands and turns in 3rd. all 3 definitely Re-gen'd more, tickover 950-1000 on start up or when switching off along with the usual heat/diesel smell occasionally more noticeable, i must admit i was surprised by how often they Re-gen'd considering i do an average of 600-800 miles per week and mostly M'way / NSL roads for probably 90% of that.
  5. quick update on this....had all 4 plugs changed in the end, £115+ fitted at Mids VW along with service, way quicker than the usual 'leave it all day' VW van centre, done in under 3 hrs. it was mentioned in the service report of an 'oil leak' somewhere
  6. remote Sim Access Profile...basically hijacks your sim which disables your 4g etc on phone so no streaming, at least in my '10 Superb? just be thankful your BT module does both modes us 'non techy' people post what look like 5yr type of Q's and pray someone answers who pities us or google....
  7. i've just been looking into this, OH going to India and it talks of LTE, i had no idea but a quick Google shows LTE is Long Term Evolution ie the path progression to 4G as a wider description overall
  8. don't worry i got the impending doom warning...just chose to ignore it normally eyeball the trough but in this case.....
  9. loaded up the car yesterday with oven/unit etc to take to a friends and then proceeded to back up to usual space....now i normally use the mirror to judge how far back and ignore the 'beeps' and screen, however with the rear full i was screen watching and forgot about the Killer Plant Trough only plastic i thought, no problem, nope, right where one of the steel supports is i can see a day of trim removal and some gentle persuasion.
  10. i had similar issues, gave up in the end and used the Skoda portal to re-do them. right click > add to list > edit and save > list of destinations when done all needed > save list (i open with 7-zip) > click and open 'destinations and copy files(s) to wherever convenient for you. then SD card into unit and import as usual
  11. not too sure about the Trust Building stuff, for some bizarre reason i've had all 3 vans at some point, bizarre as in the office is in Maidstone and i live South Staffs!! i've had all 3 serviced at some time and all had the 'Fuel issue' done, not too sure what it entailed and TBH i don't care, well apart from when they asked 'do you want the 68 limit back on' , i just take them to main dealer and pay with the Co CC. never had any major problems mechanically as part of the 'cheat', i was just musing over the coincidence and whether the Glow plugs were part of a wider issue? i thought most CR diesels didn't use the Plugs in quite the same way as older engines as in having to wait for the light to go out and pray, hence the surprise at the fault either mechanical or electrical - most likely? the later vans were reg'd Jul and Sept 15 so probably not that close. mines going into an independent ( Mids VW) on wednesday, i doubt any of the VW centres would even book it in that early and it's off lease end of august
  12. our Company at the moment runs 3 Caddy's, 1x '63, 1x '15 and a '65, all same engine (AFAIK?) and all had the Fuel updates done. the 2 newer vans have both suffered EML issues with Glow Plug circuits being the cause. the '15 plate one was all 4 i think along with some other bits @ circa £1500, my '65 reads as circuit no 2 faulty and the '63 plate hasn't suffered. is this just unlucky or do the later ones have 'cheaper' components? and is this now another 'fault' with these engines or something more 'Tin Foil Hat' theory as regards the timings which were of a similar mileage and age? possibly leaving the Oil filler cap off for 2 days and drowning the rocker cover may not have helped!!
  13. i'm sure you'd have been banned by now.....'Carry on and Keep Posting'
  14. can you hurry and go please?........my screens burning out with fluoro green circles get onto PistonHeads if you need to vent, always a thread that spirals!!
  15. i reckon the people that do this have probably replaced every amber bulb with clear/smoked/whatever is in vogue with 'F****n Dubbers' , flyeye'd lamps and then lit up the light as above
  16. i thought something was underneath there , old age
  17. Yes... i had an early 80's Audi 100 5 pot 2.2 auto, longitudinal engine and FWD, i seem to recall gearbox was under the engine?
  18. ...apart from the reminder to refit the filler cap recently checked my works Caddy van level, usually leave the 1l bottle wedged by battery, away to France tomorrow so was off last tuesday and thought i'd check the Superb, needed a bit so open the Caddy bonnet and it's smothered everywhere...around 500 miles in the 2 days previous and luckily the cap was still there, the drive also now has a nice oil slick on the block paving
  19. Thanks for that, easier than opening/closing the bonnet every time
  20. as the car stands for so long between use, will the Battery trickle charge via the socket with a Solar panel charger? or will i need to connect direct to the Battery?
  21. in other news today...2nd time lucky for the Mirror indicator, all back together and working again, not sure the clips will survive a second time though. battery was flat though so after jump starting i had a dash lit up for Xmas, all now sorted apart from the ESP fault which hopefully will disappear tomorrow after a drive
