The two weeks build is weird, indeed, but the delivery time is quite right, I would say. My car was built week 10, and was in the UK in week 14. Still to get a delivery date though. The same here - currently having 41 tabs open, lol.

So... update from my side as well... the car arrived at the dealer, so should have a delivery date soon... I hope...

How come it's just sitting there... have they given you any explanation at all?

Just got an update that my vRS is already at the UK port waiting to be delivered to the dealership... so coming soon I guess...

It used to be standard in the UK, wasn't it? Only when looking at the configurator of the MK4 I noticed it's a free option... why put it as an option if it's free?? I've driven Octavia 2 hatchback without a rear wiper. Not great, not terrible... used the rear window heating a lot.

Oh, well... just got an update on my order: "Current Status – In transit from the factory to the port of exit where it will await a ship to the UK." Has anyone got an idea how long the wait is from this moment on?

Not entirely sure, but I placed my first order on the 23rd of December, then added DCC on the 5th of Jan. I believe they had to replace the original order, as I signed a new PO. Originally, I was told unconfirmed build week 7 for March delivery, then week 15, now it's supposed to be built last week (week 10), but still waiting for an update... My point is that changing the order could cause some delays, as I'm not sure if they're just updating the placed order, or creating a new one...

well, it will help finding your car in the supermarket parking lot...

Mamba Green looks quite nice, actually. Not sure if I prefer the subtle look of the Meteor Grey or the pop of the Mamba Green, lol

Well, I don't say they're planing their production around the individual customers, but I guess when an order is placed, the dealer has an idea when you need the car. At least they asked me about this. I guess, when they move the order up the chain, they put the desired delivery date/month, so my guess is the factory has this info. Whether they work around it, or totally ignore it - have no clue... Hopefully, I will get mine this half of the year, lol...

I think they try planning according to when you need the vehicle... for example - they tried to get mine for March delivery, as my lease was supposed to end on the 10th of March. So initially, it was unconfirmed build week 7. Then it went to unconfirmed week 15, then 10, which got confirmed in the end. Will find out next week whether it was built or not... My point is that, while there are some delays, they're still trying to accommodate the building and delivery to your needs. So if you need the car further down the year, maybe they're planning the build week according to that. Yet, I had to extend my lease once, most probably will extend it with another month next week, so yeah - a bit of a mess...

I'm sure that when you compare to Canton, the standard sound system is crap, but I find it much better than the standard stereo on the Fabia for example. I've got the standard one on my 2019 Octy 3, and while it's not studio quality, it's not too bad either, especially when playing quality music from your phone...

I know it's quite subjective, but how do you find the ride of the MK4 on the 19s?

Can you not extend your current contract until the new car arrives? This is what I'm doing...

I've got the order for my meteor gray vRS Estate TSI DSG placed just before Christmas, but then added the DCC option and sort of re-ordered the car on the 5th of Jan. I had the "unconfirmed" week changed several times, but they "confirmed" it to be week 10, which is this week. Will wait until next week to see whether it was built...

I have mine hardwired to the rear wiper fuse, even though I don't have a battery pack connected. Not sure of the amps, though, but it works flawlessly.

Agree... It's also valid for the city/town too, especially parking by the curb.... Maybe a stupid question, but do you plan to get winter/cross climate tyres? As a Bulgarian I'm used to drive with winter tyres in the winter months, I even have a set on my Octy III at the moment. Even though it's not snowing, the car feels much more stable in the low close to and sub-zero temperatures... Everybody I tell I've got winter tyres on is laughing at me, so I was wondering what's the situation in the North...

I'm thinking of doing the same, mate.... where are you looking to get the aftermarket alloys from?
