  1. I went in for an update, and probably change of the SIM hardware, or something similar, and no SOS issues so far. Just go to your dealership and they should know what to do. At least mine did...
  2. Nice. Have you noticed any handling differences?
  3. Thanks, mate. Never dealt with roof boxes to be honest, so not even sure how long the bars should be... :S It's a bit of a drive from where I am, but might make it a day out, lol. Will keep an eye on this thread and if I get to be somewhere around Bristol anytime soon (and the box is still available), I will give you a shout.
  4. Hey, Timmyboy, do you include the bars as well? Also, do you think they will fit on Octavia 4 vRS Estate?
  5. There's no dedicated trip meter/counter on the MK4 unfortunately. You only get "since start", "since refuel", and "long-term"... The reset is done either within the infotaiment (which can be very user-unfriendly) or via the instrument cluster. The latter is done by the right selector wheel. You need to have the counter you want on the dashboard, then longpress to reset (that's on top of my head, so could be slighlty different, but it's thereabouts...).
  6. A slightly deviation from the original post - do you have the ambient light on the rear doors? I only have it on the front doors in my vRS...
  7. That's interesting. Haven't heard of such thing as flat beam headlights.
  8. I've asked before in this forum if anyone knew what the scrub radius on the Octavia was... Noone seemed to know, but I found some info on the internet that usually VW (and FWD cars) have a negative scrub radius. The site I mentioned above default the scrub radius to 0. Anyways, not sure if this helps or makes things more complicate for you, but thought to share it, as I spent some time searching for info on the topic...
  9. oh, just saw that you don't have the submenu after Headlights... then you definitely need to use the stickers. Apparently, the travel mode is for the matrix headlights only... 😞
  10. I can't check now, but I'm pretty sure it was in Headlights, no? What have you got, when you press there? If you don't have travel mode, you will need to put stickers on the headlights. P.S. Travelling in Europe - what was that?? ðŸĪ”
  11. I'd consider the scrub radius as well, which is important for the handling of the car. I know people are putting spacers, etc., but still - I like to play it safe... Check out this site and calculator: https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=225-45-18X7.5ET48&wheel2=225-45-18X8ET35&fcl=50mm&wcl=30mm&scl=50mm&sr=0mm
  12. What is the issue you are having?
  13. You do not have the matrix lights, right? So, what is your issue exactly?
  14. haven't seen them in the UK configurator, though... the 19 anthracite is the only option...
  15. They definitely clean them, of course not to the same level as if you clean them with a towel... I have heard it's a legal requirement to have them installed, when you have led lights. I'm not sure of the base model has the washers, even though they come with led lights, albeit not the matrix led...
  16. That's interesting. I've only ever found the silver and anthracite option. To be honest, the anthracite ones are much darker than what's shown on the picture. They look much closer to the black ones.
  17. The anthracite ones - they are standard in the UK. There's no black version of the Altairs (as far as I'm aware)...
  18. jeez... like the peasants, lol I always thought that headlight washers were great, especially in the winter.
  19. so, how do you wash your headlights if you want to?
  20. I'm reusing my Nextbase 512 dashcam. I bought 1 metre usb-c to mini-usb, as I did not like the fit of the 90-degree cable. I got this one - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B079L5YFJY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1, wrapped it around the rearview mirror mount and you can't see it at all.
  21. Not a problem. I've posted the video in another topic, when I did it back in July... Can't remember which one exactly, but I was prompted to do the test (and record) it by a post on here.
  22. You're absolutely right. I did a video some time ago - It starts with the setting on it's default position "driving on the right", then going in the menu, and actually selecting "driving on the right", which changes the beam. Then, select "driving on the left", then "right" again, etc. It appears, that even though the "driving on the right" option seems selected in the menu, it's actually not. So if you want to change it to "driving on the left", you need to first select "...the right", then "...the left" if it make sense... Long story short, even if the menu says "driving on the right", the lights are actually set up properly for "driving on the left". Hope it helps!
