great, thanks for the info, Carlston! I guess it depends on the design of the wheels, as while I was looking for 18inch ones, there were certain models that were only recommended for the rear axle of the vRS only...

I don't think you can put 17 inch wheels on the RS - I think the minimum is 18 inch, because of the brakes... Not 100% sure, though, so happy to be proven wrong. I got a set of DEZENT TY graphite 8 x 18 (LK 5/112, 70.10, ET 48) grey / anthracite with Bridgestone Blizzak LM 005 225/45 R18 95V XL from mytyres.co.uk. Not the greatest of the experience with them, as I had to chase them for like a month and a half. They were delivered from Germany and still ended up 30% cheaper than the UK sites... I paid £1,031.72 for the whole set an year ago...

I'm pretty sure I've seen you somewhere - are you in a movie or something? How do you find the ride with the DCC? Did it meet your expectations?

I also played a lot with the DCC in the beginning - now I mainly drive in comfort, or individual, where everything is set in sport, and the suspension is softer than comfort... What can you see in ODB11 related to dampeners?

I'm sure you'll like it! Please share some pics and your experience. I'm a bit surprised the iV vRS is not as low as the petrol one. I guess the battery pack makes it heavier, but I'm sure there's a way to lower it. Is it lower than the standard Octavia then?

I did some search in the forum and found the below: Just a quote - "...Autocar where they described DCC as being something you buy to access the stiffer Sport mode, so implying Normal is close to non-adaptive." How close - it's a bit subjective, I'd say... @timster, I read in another topic, that you're getting iV vRS - have you already got the car or still waiting for it? Bear in mind that in Individual, you can set the dampers to be slightly more stiffer than in sport if you'd like. But yes, you will have to select Individual Mode at every start, as the car resets to Normal...

It was an opinion I read either somewhere here or on one of the vRS groups in Facebook. Not sure if I will be able to find it, but seem to remember that the post said that the standard suspension sat somewhere between DCC normal and sport. Why is it disappointing to you - did you order the standard suspension only?

Well, the DCC is making the ride softer or harder, whereas the drive mode changes the throttle control, the gear change and the steering... I've got the DCC so can't comment on the difference with the standard suspension. I've heard the standard vRS suspension is slightly firmer that the DCC in normal settings...

My 2.0 TSI vRS stayed at the airport for about 6 weeks last year, and I didn't have any issues. It was a few months old, though, if this matters, so the battery was in a good condition.

Do you mean the view of the virtual cockpit - the two dials, the "sporty", map view, etc.? This one?

Yep, tried that and it works. Also, if you press and hold the - paddle, it will jump down a few gears to the best one for acceleration...

Hi guys, not sure if hijacking the topic here, but I've got a question regarding the manual mode on the DSG, and since I didn't find a more suitable topic, decided to ask here, lol. So, when I'm driving in Normal and decide to change a gear using the flaps, the DSG goes into Manual mode. Then, in about 10 seconds it gets back to D. A guy on Facebook said his doesn't go back to D, and stays in Manual, so I thought to check out here. What's everyone's experience with this? If I set the DSG into Sports, then it stays in Manual mode, as expected...

I took my MK3.5 to the dealer to sort it out... They took it to a wheel-alignment place and said the front tracking needed alignment... and charged me twice the amount they'd charge me at the tyre shop, lol... The dealership guy forgot to disconnect my dashcam, so I saw where they went. A week later, went to the same tyre shop, as the wheel was still tilted to the right slightly. The guys there checked it and said everything was fine with the alignment, and the wheel was like this because of the road camber. The tyre wear was even, so in the end I wasn't too bothered about this...

Thanks and wow, didn't know the trick with the throttle release - just tried it and worked like a charm! I used to click the gear-down lever once and it did the same job... The e-Tec is a mild hybrid, so that's why it turns the engine off. Never drove it but I would feel a bit ... nerveous if I have the engine off at 70 mph... 😅

I'm a bit confused with the whole coasting thing. Let's say you're driving in "Normal" downhill and lift your foot from the accelerator. The DSG will "put" the car in coasting, and the ECO icon will appear on the dashboard. The feeling is like you've depressed the clutch pedal on a manual car. The instant consumption shows "coasting", but the engine is still running, so it definitely is using fuel. Yet, if you leave the car in gear (in the case of DSG just pressing the gear down lever), now it really feels like the engine is "properly coasting" downhill and the fuel is cut off... Am I getting this wrong?

I had the same with my mk3.5 and now with my mk4 vRS. It could be caused by the road camber. What direction is the wheel tilted to - towards the centre of the road or to the side?

This defi itely is a known issue that's solved by either a software update, SIM hardware change, or both. I went in for a software update a few months ago and never had this issue since (fingers crossed).
