Weird clicking/popping sound O4, vRS Estate Petrol DSG
Fingers crossed. You could've asked for an auto, no? 🤔

That's very odd. Seems like a combo of a software and hardware issue.... What software version are you on?

Apparently, every car is different.... what software version are you on?

What version are you on? I had an update to 1788 some time ago - the SOS pop never happened since then. Still some minor bugs, such as the ACC, the sync of the climate control, but nothing too big.

Clicking noise when ACC switch between brake and accelerator
I haven't noticed such a nosie either. Will keep an eye (or ear) for that next time. Is it coming from the pedal area?

Best must have accessoaries for Octavia
Well, my vRS is just under 5k miles, and I only had problems with the infotainment, which had never prevented me from reaching my destination. (Touch wood)

Well, that's a bit harsh....

Kopacek don't deliver larger items (such as the wind deflectors) to the UK (apart from Northern Ireland) any more, unfortunately. yeah, me too!

Best must have accessoaries for Octavia
I had it done myself, after watching some youtube videos... I had the dashcam hardwired to the fuse of the rear wiper, via a fuse piggy back kit I got from Halfords (https://www.halfords.com/technology/dash-cam-accessories/nextbase-dash-cam-hardwire-kit-159302.html). It's dead simply to do - the trickiest thing was to take the glove box and the a-pillar trim apart... In the case of vRS MK4, though, there's a usb-c port in the rear view mounting, so all you need is to by a relatively short cable (for my 512 it is mini usb to usb-c, 0.9 m, which I tucked nicely behind the mirror, so you can't see it at all) and you're done. There would be a bit more work required to mount the rear camera, but you just need to hide the wire in the roof lining, I think.

I've kept the 512 version from my previous O3. I think the difference with 612 was just the resolution, but 1440p is good enough anyways, so don't think it's worth upgrading. I think mine also has the parking monitoring mode, but haven't tried it....

you can still see through the window, it's just darker

Yeah, I needed shades for the baby, so firstly tried one of those that you stick to the window itself. Yet, it's rubbish, as it doesn't cover the whole window, so there was always an angle, where the sun was getting in. So, I went with these - https://www.carshades.co.uk/shades-skoda-octavia-estate-2019-full-rear-p-9186.html. They're not great, but much better than before, even thought the windows are tinted.

I'd add a dashcam. Not really an accessory, but quite good to have one. I also added shades on all rear windows - quite a nice addition, especially for the little one during the summer (therefore highly recommended for Bulgaria). Also, being free-standing, I can now open all the windows via the remote control, which is great!

That's a nice touch from Euratek... You pay for the comprehensive insurance cover (a.k.a. "kasko" in Bulgaria) I guess. Not sure if it covers the stone chips, though. As far as I'm aware, the paint on the cars for Eastern Europe is slightly more durable than the one for the UK. At least this is what my detailer ( a Romanian guy) said. My vRS got so many stone chips for the first six months of driving it, even though I tried to keep quite some distance from other cars and lorries in particular. So I ended up doing PPF on the bonnet and front bumper... My Mrs. is like "oh, you're loving the car more than me" lol

Scrub radius on vRS
Yep - I call them cold weather tyres. Such a better handling and traction in the cold weather compared to the summer ones, especially what I expect from the sporty Eagle F1's...

Scrub radius on vRS
Thanks, Ken. I did some research before posting, so I am aware (well, sort of) of the term and the consequences of changing it via different offset, or spacers. I am looking at putting winter tyres on 18-inch wheels and just wondering how much I can play with the offset without any major effect on the handling. I've seen posts of people putting 10 or 15 mm spacers, and apparently the car handles well. Yet, I'm more of an analytical sort of a guy and need information, lol. Hence my question. :)

Scrub radius on vRS
Does anybody have an idea what the scrub radius is for the stock vRS 19 inch wheels ET48. I managed to find info saying that "usually VW group cars have negative scrub radius", without mentioning what it is exactly...

Dashcam Cable
I tried several different cables, and ended up with buying a 1 meter long one and just turn it around the mirror holder (or whatever the name is of the thing holding the mirror to the mount). You can't see the cable at all, so works for me and have some extra length if needed...

Software Campaign Update
I've booked mine for a SW update on the 27th of Oct - will provide an update after that. My major issue is the SOS pop, the rest is not that annoying, but the SOS error is frustrating!

Stone chips
The same... I always get that look - oh, so we're going to turn in circles for 5 min just so you can find a suitable bay, huh... My favourite - the whole parking lot is empty, but when you return to your cat, there'll be someone parked right next to you... I wonder if this is the reason for the garages to be so small? I barely manage to park my MK3 Octy in my absolutely emptied garage with one mirror folded to go through the garage door. Then I barely managed to get out (well, I'm kind of big, though)... Done this twice, never again...
