deleted wrong thread

After having a read on here it is concerning. The oil isnt much i ride bikes and top oil up as a chore. But and a bit but the oil consumption also leads to a lot more worrying problems.

A team manager apparently Skoda tech said “They weigh the oil then i drive away for ex amount of miles” im terrible at remembering things due to illness when i take the car for the oil consumption i am go to ask for a full breakdown on paper

Ok will bare that in mind and cancel the waysrpump inspection as skoffsi said justfix when it goes? Im heading to stockport to have the oil test done but will probably return to simpsons for the work to be carried out as you said yours has been fine for 3.5 years i think thats the safest option

Im not sure what check they will do on the waterpump i just asked if it needed doing anytime soon. Then asked if i would like it checking for peace of mind as its 8 years old and never been done. I agreed he said takes around 30min so will be just a labour charge. i have no idea on oil usage as iv only just topped it up but i know i did roughly 1200 miles then checked and it didnt even read on the dip stick since then i have topped to full i have it booked in for the 27th feb so will post the consumption from now until then. The engine is for sure burning oil im hoping kobayashi gets back to me on his fix as skoda said they had not been aware of this fix and asked if i could source the job number so they can check the details of the fix.

My vrs was bought from simpsons in colne. I have booked it in for oil consumption i also asked for a waterpump check he said im looking at about £200 inc vat i have sent you a private message regarding your fix

Awesome this is what i need to fix my fab i love the car and want to keep working restricts my time but hooefully get to skoda this weekend.

Just a quick question. Ever since i change my plugs to denso’s it idles really lumpy on initial start up? Mellows out after a few minutes... i have noticed it runs (SOMETIMES) a little lumpy when at the lights etc etc. Is this a concern i ahould be worried about or is it due to the bigger gaps on the denso plugs? Regards

Ok so i did a cold dip earlier on today then a warm dip and it sropped so i topped up matbe a little too much im not very good at these things if i come across a bit thick lol will check once every week from now on and post results

Oh dear. Then what happened? Is it fixed now?

I dipped at 90 degrees temp ? Should u fill to top of cross hatch area when hot?

I dipped at operating temperature i have added 1ltr of oil by dropping the sump i meant the plug. Will fit filter without the o ring as suggested too.

I did notice in the oil filler cap smelt a lot like unburnt fuel very petrolly

I do mainly very short cold start journeys to work and back then an average of 100miles on a weekend will see how it goes for now. I was looking at the SA tuning boxes £400 or an APR £489 but u cannot have switchable maps because i do not have cruise control stalks

No lights came up in dash i have dipped today randomly as im looking to book in a remap but with the oil issue im holding out. What is a gubbed engine? I use 99 momentum i have changed plugs to the denso’s i will be dropping the sump and changing oil and filter.

No yellow light mate just a random check, i can live with putting £20 of oil in monthly lol

I intend to keep it and check weekly and yes of course i gave give it a good thrashing, just was a bit shocked upon initially checking oil level and seeing nothing

It has had oil service at independent garage the past 4 services i presume they will of gone off the manual or recommendation to which oil to use so was probably long life 30’s. I purchased the car on the 5th of jan it had just had a fresh oil service, i have done approximately 11-1300 miles with no topping up i have check today not registering on dip stick i have added 1 litre of 5/40 which you recommend. It is now at the top of the hatched markings on the dip stick. Iv got 18mth of finance left to pay on this vehicle otherwise i would sell it now but cery unlikely to get anywhere near what i paid.
