  1. Same problem last month, my local rural garage with limited diagnostic software box came out to check via Skoda Assist/AA, the box diagnostic data said it was an issue with a passenger side airbag. Took it into Hawco Skoda Inverness a fortnight or so ago for a £100 diagnostic check, I'm told that the airbags are OK and the fault is in the airbag warning light module. Off to Inverness tomorrow (160 mile round trip) to get the module replaced.
  2. Going online to the VWFS website and login in to the "Dashboard" the info for my account with regard to just the Service Details states the following:- Contract end date x Nov 2027 https://myaccount.vwfs.co.uk/
  3. Purchased the All-in from Skoda last month and on the "paperwork" the following is stated:- Servicing & MOT ends x/11/2026 Warranty ends x/11/2025 Roadside Assistance ends x/11/2025 In my case there is a 30 day no-claim period on the warranty so it starts on x/12/2023 as the Karoq was out of it's previous warranty period (the original at time of purchase 2019 - 2022).
  4. The "Summer" sale (2023) had a discount of 20% whereas this "Winter" or "Black Friday" sale/discount (2023) call it what you will is "25%, so yes I agree with kodiaqsportline it is a good deal, infact I purchased it yesterday. For my Karoq there was no worshop/dealer inspection instead there was a Warranty 30 day no-claim period:- " *Warranty 30-day no-claim period Our records show that your vehicle hasn’t had a ŠKODA UK or ŠKODA Financial Services warranty for more than 30 days (prior to when you took out this All-in Plan). Therefore, a no-claim period is applicable to your policy. This means you will not be able to make a claim on your warranty during the first 30 days of your policy. For full details, please refer to your attached terms and conditions. " So it becomes a 23 month warranty for my vehicle. You do indeed get Roadside Assistance as you would have done in the Summer sale, the list of exclusions I copied and pasted from that Skoda website were conflicting in places which is why I said at the end:- "What a load of nonsense" and had ??? after Roadside Assistance. I checked to see what it would cost to renew my current Roadside Assistance and the cost for 12 months was £110 and unlike the previous renewal in 2022 quote there was no 24 month RA plan option.
  5. My nearest Skoda sales and service is around 74 miles away heading east to Inverness, Hawco Skoda and their current service etc pricing is:- https://www.hawcogroup.co.uk/skoda/service-parts-repair/ Will look into the All in One package as will keep the Karoq for a couple more years and more things are likely to fail. The Inverness VW Audi Independent charges similar to/the same as Hawco Skoda for servicing.
  6. After some communications with Skoda UK executive whatever I got a network goodwill gesture/email voucher re. the issue of the failing front shocks which were out of the 3 year waranty period, they would not give a goodwill gesture to the actual cost of replacement as I had used an indipendent garage and not a Skoda retailer or as others would say a Skoda dealer. The couple of hundred quid can be used against the next retailer service or whatever from the Skoda network but not from any Skoda finance products e.g. a Skoda service plan. If you don't ask you don't get .............. something.
  7. "I wonder how easy it is to get at the pollen filter." A bit fiddly the first time I guess.
  8. Will be interesting to see how the "Monroes" https://www.monroe.com/en-gb/blog/5-year-warranty-new-packaging.html do the boys in Inverness fitted to my Karoq.
  9. Just checked the speck on the current on offer "All in Plan" my 2019 Karoq at a cost for a one off payment of £672 to see what is not covered/serviced/etc. etc. :- What's excluded All non-standard service work Glass including windscreen glass and headlamp lenses Roadside assistance Body repairs Tyre replacement or puncture repair Oil, air and fluid top-ups between services (including AdBlue) Fuel Air conditioning Any repairs or maintenance associated with the Diesel Particulate Filter and catalytic reduction systems Filters, unless otherwise stated Maintenance and repair of non factory or non standard fitted items/accessories MOT Camshaft belts/chains Spark Plugs Damage caused by: Negligence, abuse or misuse and accidents Any form of corrosion including, pollution, water, chemical, salt and weather Using incorrect oil or fuel Any additions to a service unless otherwise stated. I noted that camshaft belts/chains are not inspected? Roadside assistance excluded??? What a load of nonsense.
  10. I live beside a sea loch so the "salty air" probably does not help along with the low weekly mileage, the mechanic mentioned that not all discs are manufactured the same quality wise plus the brake pad compounds can vary in how hard/soft they are depending on the make, driving styles vary in that some use a combination of gears and brakes to slow down while others just push down hard on the brake padal most of the time.
  11. Yes you are correct, my maths error, it is 4 years and 7 months sine the Karoq was first registered, bought it new from a dealership in Ayr. The two units were more or less done when changed last week.
  12. The two leaking/failed front units plus one new anti-roll bar link were replaced last week by an Inverness independent garage at a cost of £606 and after that hit on the plastic they informed me that the inner faces of the front discs were scorred/corroded and would eventually need replacing, Anything else likely to need sorting in a 3.5 year old low mileage Skoda Karoq in the near future?
  13. In your case and location I would replace with the same.
  14. Thanks for the replies. Just a matter of choosing where to get them replaced.
  15. Disappointed to find that both the front shock absorbers appeared to be leaking and then later confirmed by Indy VAG Audi garrage in Inverness as the mileage is only 19700 miles, OK there is wear and tear, potholes and rough surface on some roads but for both shockers to show signs of leakage makes you wonder how good the original VAG ones are, anyone else had this issue happening at low mileage?
  16. I have a pair of Climair wind deflectors on my Karoq purchased when they became available, they are on the front doors windows and are good at what they do,strong and easy to fit, I have bought many pairs for other vehicles over the years and never had any issues, they were always a little pricey but like everything else nowadays they are really pricey.
  17. HAWCO are now the local SKODA retailer in Inverness, previously it was Arnold Clark and prior to that it was Delmore Cars the first SKODA retailer/dealer in Inverness AFAIK. http://www.skoda.co.uk/dealers/hawco-inverness
  18. Out of curiosity what make and size were the original factory supplied tyres?
  19. My 1.5TSI SE was factory fitted with 215/55 R17 94V Hankook tyres, OK not 18" wheels and tyres but V rated none the less.
  20. The 3rd image looks like the image of a Trinity 7Jx18" in the brochure.
  21. See if this is of any help to you:- https://www.wikihow.com/Put-Music-on-a-Flash-Drive#
  22. People noticed this a few years ago, see the following posts:- https://search.briskoda.net/#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=KAROQ%20AIR%20CONDITION&gsc.sort=
  23. Thanks for all the replies, the idea of putting the tyres with the most tread or when fitting new tyres to front wheels and then getting those wheels on the rear has been around for many a year, plenty of explanations online.
  24. The Karoq will be in for a 2 year/second service (my choice as do lowish mileage per year) so planning on getting the 4 wheels rotated, the 17 inch Hankook tyres are asymmetric so what is the better form of rotation I.e. NSF to NSR etc. or NSF to OSR etc.? I take it the only other thing to do afterwards is reset the TPMS after checking pressures?
  25. As far as receiving and answering calls go when the radio is on there are no problems either end of the conversation using my MOTO G7 (Android) connected by bluetooth.
