keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
Yes, the information dial straight in front of the steering wheel not the Infotainment screen, not sure what its correct name is.

keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
Yes, I had a Low battery Key fob warning on the round screen, but it only appeared once.

Tramping
Thanks for all the advice, I never bother to swap tyres front to back as I prefer to change tyres 2 at a time rather than fork out for 4 in one go.

Tramping
The front tyres on my SEL 1.5 manual, Bridgestone Turanzas on 18" rims have been very noisy especially on some motorway surfaces have also worn quite quickly (14,000 miles) and in this wet weather have poor grip although the tread is now fairly low. What would owners advise as a replacement?

Removal of mudflaps
They may not fit. There are two types of mud flap to match the different wheel arches, no doubt someone on here will be able to advise whether the Sports line is the same as the SEL Is it worth changing them? They are hardly expensive!

Time for a change !
"PLUS, I'm helping save the planet !! " Do you really believe that? Electric vehicles are clean while being driven and no doubt bring benefits of cleaner air to City centres but what about the pollution caused during manufacture and especially producing the batteries not to mention disposal of the batteries when spent. Compared to a conventional petrol or diesel car I doubt very much that the overall saving by going electric amounts to very much if everything is considered, politicians are quick to claim the benefits but much slower to acknowledge the true figures. An old say 2000's car kept running for 20 years is I believe much greener if everything is considered when compared to modern cars that many folk change every 3 years. Provided they are kept out of city centres. If all cars were electric how would the National grid cope? With several Nuclear generating sites closing over the next few years electricity is going to be on a knife edge anyway without the huge demand a surge in electric vehicles would bring. Just my opinion.

KESSY PROBLEMS
Measuring the voltage of a battery alone can be misleading as you are reading the voltage with a high resistance voltmeter so the battery is effectively on open circuit ( i.e.no current flowing). Voltages of 2.77 and 2.5 are both low and suggest duff batteries. Perhaps the fob is discharging your batteries? Even if the battery voltage read 3.0 volts there is still the possibility that it would not deliver sufficient current.

Karog Stop start not working
While on the subject. On an 140 mile journey today I plugged a digital voltmeter (Available for a few £s on eBay) into the 12v auxiliary socket. The charging voltage of 14.4 volts was only apparent during overrun ( i.e, engine not pulling) and on braking, again the engine not pulling. While in drive ( engine pulling) the charging voltage dropped to around 12v so virtually no charge as the battery voltage is most likely above this. This seems an awful lot of fuss to get a slightly improved mpg. And as the car ages a great deal more to fail !

Karog Stop start not working
As CJJE says to have a car without stop/start is a real bonus. Regarding your voltage readings were you measuring direct onto the battery as 14.4 after a nights charge is fine. I keep a voltage monitor permanently plugged into the 12v auxiliary socket and it rarely reads above 12volt but the Stop/Start always works provided that the engine is warm and that the heating and or aircon are not drawing too much current. The lighter socket may however be not measuring battery voltage direct and I understand that the battery is purposely kept on a low charge to allow charging during braking etc. to aid emissions. Others on here will know more precisely how the system operates My car: 2019 build, built September 2018 1.5 TSI SEL Manual.

1.5 TSI Software updates
A few weeks ago my 2019 build 1.5 TSI SEL had its first service at 13,000 miles ( 2 years) at Telfords Skoda in Carlisle. Without prompting they also updated the software to eliminate some hesitation when starting from cold, the first update last year corrected loss of power when e.g. approaching a roundabout. The hesitation never really bothered me as living at 1000ft starts were always downhill. The car now feels so much smoother so it would seem that the 1.5 TSI problems have finally been fixed. Full marks to Telfords Skoda for a job well done.

Boot protection
For the boot area I cut some ribbed rubber matting to fit: https://www.screwfix.com/p/general-purpose-floor-mat-black-2500-x-915mm/49538?_requestid=641450#product_additional_details_container There was ample over to make some mats for the drivers and passenger carpets as they seem of rather poor quality and wear quickly It took a while with a sharp knife and scissors but looks quite neat.

Battery failure in Keyfob
You would need to tow a service department behind with specialised computerised test equipment to be able to tackle the same things as a decent tool kit would manage with your Spitfire. Its called Progress!

Battery failure in Keyfob
The message only appeared once, and as I changed the battery presumably no need to repeat it! For once a Gizmo that proved useful! Yes agreed, there are far too many clever features on most modern cars and this is the main reason that my wife refuses to change her 6 year old Hyundai as the new model has nearly as many questionable features as the Karoq. These things are OK when working but as I tend to keep modern cars for 10 years I suspect many faults will be lurking only to appear in a few years time. I much prefer Classic cars, very simple, more fun to drive and they generally appreciate in value, in some cases quite dramatically. www.bertram-hill.com

Battery failure in Keyfob
A message " key battery running low" appeared on the screen. Measured the fob battery and sure enough the volts were 2.7. Changed battery and all OK. Car 2018 and done 13,000 miles.

Car emergency brakes in reverse when not needed
It can be annoying but it saved me while reversing around a very narrow tight bend with rock on either side, I had not noticed a bit jutting out low down but the sensors did and saved a graunched panel.

Tow Bar
I am in a similar position but am going to wait until the car is out of warranty as I only wish to tow a small trailer and a basic system at half the cost will be OK.

Road rescue and guarantee
Many thanks Shy, Just the job!

Road rescue and guarantee
I understand that Skoda's Road rescue and the guarantee lasts for three years. I bought my car new with 0 miles on the clock from a main dealer some 100 miles away as they had the colour I wanted. The car had been pre -registered by the dealer. Does the start date for road rescue and guarantee commence when I took delivery or when the dealer first registered the car? I could ask the local dealer but from past dealings with them I am unlikely to get a sensible answer. Thanks

Retro fit tow bar
From Phils "pfJones" link above , if you have a tow bar fitted other than from a Skoda dealer the Warranty is invalid. This is a farce as some Skoda dealers just farm out the work to pfJones and take a rake off.

Karoq Fuel Flap won’t open
Dont push it, just a sharp tap across the centre should free it.

Karoq Fuel Flap won’t open
Its a known problem Just give it a sharp tap in the centre of the flap, works every time for me
