  1. It is impossible to say in the circumstances. It depends how generous they are being with your p/ex. It is the price to change that counts. Have a look what deals there are on similar new cars and how much WBAC or others are offering for a hassle free purchase of your Golf. You will then have an idea whether your dealer is offering a fair deal or not.....
  2. Dozens of camper vans & motorhomes have LPG tanks and LPG cylinders and go on ferries & Eurotunnel every day.....
  3. Yep, including the new Ford Transit Hybrid. https://www.ford.co.uk/shop/specialist-sales/fleet/phev/fords-plug-in-hybrid-electric To me, that looked like the way forward in the short term, but IIRC wasn't popular in the Vauxhall Ampera/Chevy Volt...? But I too will probably go pure EV next time. Losing the maintenance requirement of an ICE appeals, and my 40 mile a day commute and I already have a plug socket on my drive for the camper van mean an EV will fit in as part of our fleet.....
  4. Possibly a bit more bling, it depends how much you value bling and how sensible you are.... I like bling and I'm not sensible........
  5. I'm not being funny, because I will probably have an electric car next,...... but.....are you saying that you will do 250 miles in a month? and that is a charge at £8....? ( Or did you mean per week ?) My TDi Karoq averages 50mpg so 250 miles is about £25 in diesel at the moment, so that would be a £13 a month saving over a diesel for me and perhaps £24 a month for you (at 40mpg). Those aren't really earth shattering figures are they....? Or have I missed something...?
  6. They can park an assembled car in a muddy field somewhere at very little cost, but a warehouse, full of parts, costs money......? .
  7. I hate Stop/Start too, and disable it each time I get in the car. Despite what anybody says I can't help but think that repeated use of the starter motor will eventually knacker something....!! I've seen these regularly mentioned but haven't bothered buying one so can't vouch for it, to me it is second nature now to disable the stop/start as I put my seat belt on, so no great issue..... https://www.kufatec.com/en/coding-diagnosis/kufatec-coding-dongle/coding-dongle-disable-start-stop-for-vw-seat-skoda-audi-40019
  8. Quoting £288 for three spark plugs just shows that the staff on the desk have no knowledge or interest in cars, have never worked on a car, have no idea what the realistic market price for car parts is or any real interest or enthusiasm for the cars and products they sell. Sadly they are just people plucked off the street, put behind a desk and do the minimum they can get away with till pay day comes around. Probably better to find a decent indie if you don't want to do your own servicing. At least many of the indies have chosen their brand based on an enthusiasm for the marque.....
  9. We've got Lane assist in her 2019 Golf, but it can be permanently switched off in the Menu settings on the infotainment screen, that was my first thing to do on the journey home from the dealers ! Shame that VAG have seemingly gone away from that. It's going to be those Europeans to blame..... .
  10. The mats from a Golf fit and sometimes come up secondhand on that auction site.....
  11. My MY20 Sportline has got one - handy when I'm on call at night !
  12. Hmm..... Would have loved the 190 TSi but didn't want DSG..... But wheelspin on a 4 x 4 Skoda Karoq...? Is that wishful thinking...?.... Are you sure it isn't the rear brake pads...?
  13. It's campaign 60E3 being discussed here....... Had mine done at Mitchell Skoda Cheshire Oaks about 6 weeks ago. They were very efficient, no issues....... I did get a letter from the supplying dealer telling me about it, but as they were rubbish I chose to take it to Mitchells. I could even walk to the nearby Maccies where the government treated me to half my breakfast....... .
  14. I dislike auto lights for all the reasons you've described. Similarly I hate auto wipers which just seem to go like bonkers whatever the rainfall level. But there are simple solutions to both fortunately. But then I am very very old fashioned........
  15. Are you sure the mileage display isn't cycling between trip and total miles...?
  16. I have done several online removal and additions of Private Plates on various family vehicles in the last few months and the new V5 has arrived very quickly, less than a week in some cases. But I am still waiting on a road tax refund after 3 months, but my lad got one within a fortnight. I have found it impossible to complain. They don't (won't?) answer the phone and an email complaint produced a link to their FAQ's. Robbers they are, robbers !!
  17. Interesting, I just did a google search on "where are bosch oil filters made".. It brings up lots of pictures of bosch filters obviously, but you can see that whilst some say Made in Germany, many are made in Tunisia, South Africa etc. I think trying to buy stuff actually made in Germany or Japan might be difficult......
  18. Mine arrived last night about 6.30pm off Amazon. £18.74 now, but hey ho.... Will get round to fitting them possibly tomorrow. Up here I won't have to wait long to test them....!
  19. There was a thread on Karoq wipers ( might have been on another forum) and somebody had fitted these to stop the dragging/juddering and had good results.... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-A864S-Aerotwin-Wiperblade-Set/dp/B00W1KKYUI
  20. Thank goodness, I thought mine didn't have the stupid thing..... Perhaps Skoda could issue the buyers of all 190 motored vehicles a pair of greased up latex gloves and details of their local recycling centre where it can be safely dumped......... Or perhaps a local fairground operator for the dodgem cars ...?
  21. Ahh.........if only Rover were still around ! 😉
  22. Possibly not the same dealer? Mine was Lookers in Manchester....
  23. I don't want or even like the DSG, my daughter has it in her Polo GTi and the Father in Law has the equivalent in a Captur. I wanted the 2.0TSi petrol 190PS as 1st choice, then the 190 2.0 TDi as 2nd choice but both only available with DSG I think so ended up with 3rd choice the 150PS 2.0 TDi Manual which unfortunately for Skoda was cheaper so they down sold me.......😒 But it's all immaterial really cos we'll all be in an EV very very soon............
  24. Sounds similar to me... In over 43 years of buying cars very regularly, best car I've ever had, worst dealer I've ever dealt with.....
  25. You probably spend too much time analysing.................... 😉
