  1. I think Red Bull Racing would fill that gap.
  2. Both Ferrari's out in Q2, 13th & 14th about 1 second behind the lead car.
  3. Yeah, politics eh. F1 without Ferrari would be like Christmas without Santa.
  4. I wonder if Sainz is checking to see if his Ferrari contract has a 'get out' clause.
  5. Ferrari have obviously sorted out the 'crack' in Vettel's brain chassis as BOTH Ferrari's have been outstanding in practice at Spa. FP1 Ferrari's 14th & 15th FP2 15th & 17th FP3 17th & 20th (out of 20) On average they are running 1.5 - 2.0 seconds a lap slower than the lead car. Monza next weekend,I expect Ferrari are relieved that the tifosi won't be in the circuit.
  6. Don't know if this works or not
  7. Traded in my 14 plate Octavia 1.6 tdi DSG in June after 165,000 miles without any major problems. Warranty is 3 years or 60,000 miles whichever comes first. Condition and service history and HPI checks should be made before purchase. Skoda service is electronic, but I don't know how you can view it.
  8. Err..... It’s 500 miles. Add 4 laps and call it the Indy 501. Levi's could sponsor that one. Then we could have the Le Mans 24 1/2 hour.
  9. Alonso managed to finish 21st after starting 26th on the grid. Renault reportedly have said that he won't be able to run the Indy 500 while driving for them in F1.
  10. When you get a tear in a side wall at 3 o'clock in the morning you'll know a spare wheel is the only way to go.
  11. Well, at least he's qualified this year. Still chasing the dream of the 'triple crown' by equalling Graham Hill in winning Monaco, Le Mans and the Indy 500. Dream on Fernando
  12. Mercedes appeared to have the tyres under control this week. Red Bull appeared to be struggling. What a difference a week makes. Vettel stormed to seventh place and only a lap down.
  13. I think the only crack they found in the car is the crack in Vettel's character and perhaps a loose nut on the steering wheel.
  14. Vettel on top form again.
  15. Alonso hits the wall in Indy practice.
  16. I think it will depend on which tyres Pirelli bring along.
  17. Max in 2nd place in the championship. Vettel flying along in 13th place.
  18. A few years back a friend of mine was stuck in our local supermarket car park when his Volvo wouldn't turn over. He had called the AA, but there was a delay, so he called me. I went out and check the battery, 12 v OK, just as I did that the AA guy turned up. He reached down and pulled off the 'exciter wire' (his description) to the starter motor, he then pushed it on and off of the terminal a few times and the motor fired up straight away. As he said, it's a common problem with a corroded terminal.
  19. This weekends hard tyre was last weekends medium tyre. Problem for Max if he gets passed in the first lap and doesn't get pass again as the Mercs stretch away. I can see teams going for 2 stops rather than risking tyre failure.
  20. The team principle of Racing Point was on the radio yesterday saying that all the parts were approved by the FIA in March. Now they get a fine and a 15 point deduction, but are allowed to continue using the parts? If the parts breached the rules, then why are they allowed to continue using them? Ferrari with their 'dodgy' fuel system / engine last year received no fines or point deductions, but were basically told to stop doing whatever it is you are doing. FIA still means Ferrari International Rescue.
  21. Are the O ring seals on the pistons?
  22. In reality Verstappen was the 'lucky boy' as he was gifted 2nd place when Bottas had the puncture, at the time he was around 10 seconds behind Bottas.
  23. Three stops next week if Pirelli bring softer tyres and the temperature is up in the 30's. Horner to Verstappen at the end of the race 'he's a lucky boy'. I assume he was referring to Hamilton's puncture, sour grapes?
  24. A 205/60 would have given you the nearest size on a 16" rim. Does a 225 tyre fit in the spare wheel well OK?
  25. It looks to be cooler today and tomorrow so it might be business as usual. I was listening to Radio 5 Live yesterday during P2 and they were discussing the tyre situation and the temperatures. They said that next weekend the Pirelli tyres will be softer, also next weekends temperatures are forecast to be 30c.
