  1. Talk of Hulkenberg replacing Perez this weekend.
  2. Silverstone should show exactly where Ferrari are for raw pace compared to the silver arrows, or black arrows as they are at the moment.
  3. Either the switches are wired the wrong way around or more likely the motor itself. Does the passenger window operate correctly from the buttons at the drivers door?
  4. About 7 weeks and 3000 miles into owning the 2.0 diesel L&K combi and the question is do I like it? well, do bears poo in the woods? I haven't used all of the functions available yet, adaptive cruise is very good in the 50 mph average speed camera roadworks on the motorways , but I turned off the lane assist as the state of UK roads it tried to steer the car all over the place at times. It's big, but doesn't feel like it. It's comfortable and drives well. MPG is about the same or slightly better then my old 1.6 diesel Octavia combi. I should have got one of these years ago.
  5. My L&K is the same. No idea if it can be changed.
  6. FIA, I want to protest the Mercedes team for making it rain and causing our leading driver to crash.
  7. Red Bull racing usually do better at circuits like Monaco and Hungary, where their lack of power is compensated by a good chassis and aero package. Didn't Max get pole here last year? The best they could achieve today was seventh and 1.4 seconds off of the pole time. I was listening to the report on the radio when coming home down the M1 and I thought they said that Max had no new tyres for his second run in Q3.
  8. Did you have 2 keys with the car? The key fob battery in one of the keys to the wife's Mk3 combi failed recently so I replaced it with a 'new' battery that I had in stock and the fob still didn't work. I went out and bought a premium brand battery and the fob worked immediately.
  9. Did you look at the diesel?
  10. True, but with an illegal very fast engine.
  11. Only one lap today from Vettel and he qualified 10th. Last week in the dry he qualified 11th and finished 10th 24 seconds behind the winner despite the safety cars. I know the cars has some issues, but Leclerc managed P2 last week.
  12. It's on the BBC, so it must be true, however it's still showing Vettel driving a Ferrari. To be honest it's been a while since Vettel's driven anything with any purpose.
  13. The new aero update performed very well today.
  14. Which lap will Verstappen's Honda expire?
  15. Weather forecast looks OK for tomorrow.
  16. If you are only using the car for short runs I would stick with your current car. The ideal situation would be to find a newer 1.2 SEL DSG.
  17. If the safety car wasn't used the Mercedes would have managed the tyres OK. Hamilton wanted the mediums at his stop, but team politics dictated that he would have the hard tyres.
  18. 23 laps down and the Ferrari's 25 and 36 seconds adrift of Bottas.
  19. Max having a problem?
  20. BBC reporting that Hamilton could get a 3 place grid penalty, moving him to fifth. Red Bull's home track so maybe money talks.
  21. Max has nothing to lose by gambling on starting on the medium tyre as he knows he can't out pace the Merc's. As this is the first race of the season we don't know how reliable the cars are what their true race pace is.
  22. Yes, it was 'fuel flow'. Ferrari allegedly somehow 'stored' fuel after the flow meter to use more fuel when required. RB tried it on in the first year of the hybrids when they realised that the Renault engine was under powered when used legally.
  23. Albon almost a further 1/2 second behind Max. Verstappen went for the medium tyre in Q2, so that's what he will start with. Unlikely to jump the Merc's at the start, but could have a tussle with Norris, Albon and Perez at the start.
  24. Every one knew Ferrari were at it last year, when the FIA issued a 'clarification' to the rules at the US GP, suddenly the prancing horse became a limping donkey.
  25. 1 Ferrari and 1 Renault fail to make Q3.
