  1. Looking at the approved used warranty T&C online it states you need to get Skoda approval for any modifications to the vehicle. I suspect they will only approve mods using their parts and if a dealer fits them. The OE bushes will be covered by a 2 year parts warranty on manufacturing defects.
  2. I recall having a similar issue which was the phone defaulting to usb charging mode rather than file transfer. Try this link to see if it helps: https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-set-the-default-usb-behavior-in-android-10/
  3. Yeah, that's what I thought. Even down to the sealer overlapping the plastic trim.
  4. Actually, I think I'm talking rubbish. Hopefully the pics of mine show up.
  5. Yeah, tbf mine looks painted. Just looked at your pics again, just wondering what that yellow line is on the boot and on the grommet? On the second pic the seam sealer overlaps the plastic trim, therefore thinking about order of assembly the seam sealer was possibly applied last?
  6. That looks similar to the seam sealer in my boot. I tend to look for subtle clues such as trim not fitting properly around the wheel arches or interior. Check around and under the bumper for any signs it's been removed. Missing grommets, screws, carpet not fitting under the trim etc.
  7. I've just been through the same decision. Tbh there wasn't a huge variation in cost but one of the vag specialist included the auxiliary belt in the price and they changed the expansion tank at cost for the part only. Turned out they were the cheapest anyway so went with them.
  8. IMHO I would get skoda to do it so it doesn't affect your warranty. Nothing warranty companies like more than a bit of DIY wiggle room when it comes to a claim.
  9. Thanks all for the replies. I ended up adding the missing logos one by one, which wasn't a big deal in the end. There were a few missing from the skoda portal download but I found them on https://media.info/radio/stations which worked fine.
  10. How do I update all new logos into the unit? The instructions on the update portal say to change each radio stations logo in turn from the source media. I don't want to keep plugging in the usb drive each time I have a blank logo if there is a better way of doing it. Thanks.
  11. I don't think its anything to worry about, quite normal.
  12. The supplying dealer is legally obliged to repair your car foc as you have just purchased it, irrespective of the Skoda warranty. If you take it to another dealer for them to assess under the Skoda warranty, then you could technically be charged if they deem the fault isn't covered by the warranty. Probably best to liase with the supplying dealer.
  13. Yes they did but then recently changed to G12Evo, which is what they used looking up that part number.
  14. Doesn't look the right colour or clarity, should be sorted under warranty though.
  15. Just out of interest was that caused by the silica bag splitting in the expansion tank?
  16. Yes I have has it twice. Its the Emissions Control Light. Both times it was a glow plug so a simple repair. Needs the fault codes reading for you to know what is causing yours.
  17. When I first bought the car it had 16k miles on it and was quite noticable. I never did anything about it, never thought that it was an issue really. 3 years later its got 61k and its been fine. I have probably changed my driving style so I'm slightly slower into second so it doesn't crunch.
  18. The only way forward really is to get the car scanned for historical fault codes and / or get a garage to see if they can replicate the fault while doing the diagnosis. Cycling the ignition sometimes resets the fault and only triggers the light when it occurs again. Stop start always seems to throw a wobbler when there is another fault on the car, I wouldn't be too concerned about that.
  19. My car has always been like that. When I first set off and I hurry the gear change into second there is a slight crunch. If I slow down the change it doesn't crunch. Worse when the air temperature is cold.
  20. Unless you get a warning light just ignore the fan, is working as designed. Yes, if a regen starts and you drive far enough for the regen to complete the fan will not be on when you park up. Another indication of a regen in operation is 1k revs at tick over and stop start not operating when parked.
  21. If the voice control is the same as I have on a 2016 Octavia Admunsen unit its not worth having imho. Google assistant is far superior.
  22. If you remove the glove box it should be marked on it somewhere, bottom or back at a guess. Your owners manual should show you how to do this unless something changed on the face lift that I'm not aware of.
  23. seems quite common as mine came off last week, 2016 plate. Thought my exhaust was dragging it made that much noise. Looked similar to yours with the mounting holes damaged. Haven't got it sorted yet, as my pads need changing soon so will do it then.
  24. I was in a similar situation to you only yesterday. I was looking at a car with my son. I picked up that it was one year over its due service date but under miles. At first they said it wouldn't be a problem but I pushed them on the warranty claim issue and they got a bit windy and finally said it may not meet approved used standards. They would have to do some more checks and come back to us. I suppose the only real test is in the event of a claim.
