Thanks for your answer! My Android browser doesn't give me any select option, unfortunately.. I was wondering if I needed extra badges/points to enable this kind of feature, or expand my quota. Well, I should try with another browser, as is the only alternative I see right now. Thank you, anyway!

Known compatible USB port&cable with the (old) SWING radio - MIB2 Entry 5E0 035 871 A ?
Hi! I am looking for a way to re-enable the USB functionality that ”greyed-out” after the retrofitting an old SWING (without AppConnect). I have the old Bolero double port - USB and AUX jack, but the USB is not working and I am blaiming the port and/or the cable. Is there a list of compatible ports and cable for each media unit? Thanks!

On the old part it's near the camera lens. What new part are you talking about?

Reversing Camera Retrofit
And further down it says that it also works on a 2013 Octavia I also retrofitted one on a MY2014 and it works just fine.

If the one posted repeatedly above is insufficient, I'll add more: Radio Swing 5E0 035 871 A - MU-E-ER 852 6490 SW ver: MEN2_EU_SK_P5040L

Mine is welded on the board, without a socket. You can read the code from these pics. My 5F - LCH is also blank, but I have triple checked to make sure that the byte and bit work in my MY.

Hi! As I said in my last post, my 5E0 035 871 A (MIB_Gen2) is compatibile. My HU is rather old, but to my surprise had the video processing chip. Yours - the 5E0 035 871 C newer Swing - seems to lack the chip and the video signal. The only way to be sure, is to unscrew it, but judging by the signs it doesn't, as it should have worked right out the box. Anyway, I also coded it to make sure: M5F-Information Electr. Coding-07: LCH -B19: enable b4 Depending on the MY, there might also be another one: M10-Park Assist Security-16: 71679 / 20103 Coding-07: LCH -B03: b4-5 – enable (10) RVC installed Good luck!

Hi! Check if you have the TW9900 chip. That was the only way I was sure that my 5E0 035 871 A (MIB_Gen2) is compatibile. My HU is rather old, but to my surprise had the video processing chip. The C newer ones seem to lack the chip and the video signal. So, to sum it up: after I was sure that the HU has the chip I ordered the ~90mm camera, as it was the only one fitting. As a sidenote: it was missing a screw, but I improvised. Good luck!

Hazard lights on in reverse gear
In our Road Code there is not a specific ban on using hazard lights when reversing and I do that every time manually - moreover, heavy trucks and machinery have that feature autoenabled, including sound signals and I don't see why lighter vehicles wouldn't. I, for one, would gladly add an extra safety for pedestrians and I would also look for means to activate also the sound actuator when reversing but my car lacks one. Anyway, if there is a coding referring directly to the hazard lights please be so kind as to share it.

Hazard lights on in reverse gear
Hello! I believe that hazards blinking when reversing makes a lot of sense, because it makes the car more visible, especially nowadays when engines are quieter and most kids walk with their eyes down to their phone and ears plugged with max noise. Blinking could/should be more easy to see - plus I don't find any norm forbidding it.. Anyways, this is the only coding (VDCS/ODB11) discussion I have found on this topic. Is there a coding/adaptation that controls the hazard lights? Can it be done enabling the turning signals when reverse gear is engaged?

Lo and behold:) my 5E0 035 871 A (MIB_Gen2), without glove-compartment unit(!) is compatible with a reverse cam. The worse is yet to come, but I hope I'll manage to install it swiftly. Glad we got that out of the way and I hope it will help others too! Thank you guys and especially you langers2k!

(more than) happy to report that my 5E0 035 871 A (MIB_Gen2) has the TW9900 chip. I'll order the cam and return with info if and when I'll set it up.

Spot on! I missed the J. I think I shall split the can and look for the chip. On the other hand, it looks cheaper to fit a new unit, but I believe that if we factor in the ODIS activation and the service hours, it could be cheaper to buy the unit and the cam and fit them myself - I'll work out the math.. Thanks for a great help!

Yes, I've seen that - thanks! Apparently A is compared to B on that pic, and A lacks the chip. I've found this https://www.edotec.ro/vw-skoda-seat-audi-porsche-mib-interfata-camera-video-auto-spate-si-fata-rl-mib.html that seems to convert the video signal. I'm contemplating.. :>)

I have a 5E0 035 871 A - MU-E-ER 852 6490 Radio Swing, Software ver: MEN2_EU_SK_P5040L. The thing is that there are people who seem to have found solutions: https://autofidelity.com.au/product/integrated-rear-view-camera-system-with-dynamic-guidelines-for-vehicles-with-swing-radio-for-skoda-octavia-5e/ Not in Europe, though..
