  1. After reading this, I'm after some guidance... A friend of mine had, what he describes as a "Temperature Sensor Mod" that he had on his VW Bora TDi 150, that he said fooled the engine into thinking that the fuel was running hotter than it actually was, so it squirted more fuel in. He reckoned it gave him a 10-20bhp boost with only a few mpg degradation in economy. Again, he's said it's a 10-15 minute job to fit, and this all sounds very, very similar to the kit that been described as the "Evry" mod in this thread. He's now replaced it with some other full engine tuning mod of some sort, so he's put if up for sale. So, has anyone used one, had any experience of them, and does it actually make any difference? Also, does it have any warranty / dealer upsetting implications? I'm also deducing, by everyone's scepticism on this mod, that the
  2. Chaps, I'm happy to bring along laptop with 6-in-1 card reader and built in CD burner as well, if need be if people want to clear off digital still camera memory cards, as a backup. If that would be useful? I can get about an hour and a half out of the battery on a good day, so as long it was for occasional use, or dumps in middle / end of day it would be ok. Chaos
  3. Evenin all, As I live more South-East (East Hampshire) than South-West, I will probably go A3>M25>M1 as it'll take me about an hour and a quarter to get to Chievely / A34, by which time I could be nearly at the M25/M1 interchange. :ashamed: So, keep me involved in the planning, and I'll try and meet up with you wherever the A34 intersects the M1. All the best, Chaos
  4. Joe, It is a nice site, and the people are very friendly. Welcome! All the best, Chaos (arrived from Ovlovland just one week ago)
  5. Many thanks for the words of welcome and the friendly remarks. It's really nice to find a group of like minded people with egos large enough to deal with Skoda envy. Plus, as often requested across the site, I have started waving and flashing at other Skoda drivers, particularly vRSers! All the best, Chaos
  6. Hello all, Just a week now into my Furby vRS ownership, and I'm trying so hard not to push it, got to run it in, blah :( but even so far, it's great. After mostly motorway journeys so far, I enjoyed a run cross country on the A272 this morning. Despite getting stuck behind a digger at one point, the windy road showed me what I'd been hoping for. With
  7. Hi TaviaRS, thanks for the words of welcome, I've found everybody to be very friendly and approachable so far, so thanks. I'm borrowing a lid from a mate of mine (who sadly has a VERY lowered Pug 206 GTi, but I don't hold that against him), so I'd love to have a ride around in your "mobile chicane", thanks Colin's Avatar probably says something along the lines of "if you've got enough free time to sit and work out what this says then you're a sad ######" it's either that or it's some kind of feng shui blessing like "light the fires and smoke the tires".
  8. Please can you add me to the list to come along to the National Meet on April 24th. Unfortunately, my Furby vRS is a company motor so track days aren't really an option (bummer) :( but after talking to Colin and ffelan, they both stressed that the day is a "two-part" meet and is as much a social and a good day out as it is an excuse to rid the world of it's over-supply of oil and rubber. I will of course be bringing a crash helmet and a lot of cheek ... and burger money, obviously.
