I noticed mine was rattling and I was worried it was the timing chain but eventually realised it was just the fuel lines, bit of foam and its not a issue now.

It might be the fuel lines rattling against the chassis, Here

Loving your car mate, did you ever get the Monte Carlo headlights to work properly? You couldn't flash your high beams right?

Mine is exactly the same, has the white anti corrosion stuff on the battery and the scuff mark on the wiper. Looking at used wiper arms on eBay they all seem to have the same marking so must be a common issue.

The Chinese ones are shorter and look worse so might aswell source quality genuine Skoda ones.
