Jacking up the Yeti
Point taken Yety, thanks. A couple of pictures I found on another forum with markings indicating the jacking points as being 5 1/2" back from the front wheel arch edge, and 7" forwards from the rear wheel arch...

Jacking up the Yeti
Not doubting you (as I haven't even got my Yeti yet!!) but do you think where he felt for the thicker seem he should instead have looked for the triangle and got his head underneath? Is there a chance he got it in the right position purely by luck, or did he definitely get it wrong? I've added that pad to my shopping list for when I've collected ny Yeti, thanks for the tip.

Jacking up the Yeti
Thanks Yety, when I collect my Yeti from the dealer at the end of the month I might ask them to put it up on their ramps so I can see the jacking points and photograph them. When you refer to that VAG Jacl Pad, is that one different to the type that x19 referred to which he doesn't recommend, or is it a different type?

Jacking up the Yeti
Seems to be some doubt over where the jacking points are, can anyone help with locating them please?

Winter tires
Has that been updated since 2010 to include the 17" wheels.

Winter tires
The 215 is the width in mm, and the 55 is a percentage of the sidewall to the width, so the side walls will be 55% of 215mm = 118mm Whereas your original tyres have a sidewall of 112mm So almost identical size.

No, they said they replace the whole unit, not just the gauze/seive as they can't be replaced separately.

One local indie told me they don't clean it, they replace with new unit instead, but that obviously made them more expensive than others.

Rear mounted bike rack
This rack is no use for my ebike, but on my LR Defender I have a Karritek tilt n slide roof rack which i use for carrying bikes and roof box. I also have a Maxxraxx rack which mounts behind the towball leaving it free for towing...

Rear mounted bike rack
Do you know which models they are e-Roottoot? One problem I foresee on the latest Thule tow bar racks is the clamps that grip onto the bike frame, they don't seem to account for non tubular shaped frames. My crossbar is kind of square and I can't be certain the clamps will fit. The older style racks just have an upright posts to lean the bikes against, and then secured using simple straps...

Rear mounted bike rack
Another option is to have a low bar fitted if you haven't already, and then get a tow ball mounted rack. Though if your never going to tow its adding more cost. I have a 23kg ebike, and whilst I'm currently researching roof bars for carrying my sons bike, I would like a tow bar mounted rack for my ebike. P.S a very good ebike forum is https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/

Thanks J.R I've started a separate thread regarding the Haldex, as the replies here will no doubt be missed by anyone searching under the subject. Im looking forward to picking up the Yeti though. I need to ask the dealer if the Appleplay smartlinkk thing needs activating, and find some floor mats.

Haldex service on Yeti
Agreed. I think I just need to take it somewhere who will actually carry out the requested work, regardless of whether they think it should be done.

Haldex service on Yeti
Just put a deposit down on my first Yeti (2017 2.0L 4x4 TDI Outdoor SE L with 35k miles) from a Skoda dealer who says the Haldex service has been done, though i've not seen the paperwork yet. Having read up on here I'm aware that the Haldex service was originally set by Skoda at 40k miles, but has now been brought forward to 30k miles/3 years, however the Skoda dealers don't normally acknowledge that the gauze/sieve requires cleaning, so I can't confirm if that has ben done or not. I know owners typically get charged around £100 for the service, so for peace of mind I've set about ringing two local independent VAG garages to get it booked in, and they are giving me conflicting advice.... Garage 1 says it doesn't need doing until 40k miles and they charge about £100 for the oil change and sieve clean. Garage 2 acknowledges the shorter 30k mile period, but charges £220+vat as instead of cleaning the sieve they replace the unit (this was a price off the top of his head and she's finding out the exact price for me). My preference is garage 1, but it's strange how the info differs between Skoda and the different indie garages, and also when compared to owners experiences.

I'll inspect the service paperwork when I collect the car. Surprised that a local independent VAG garage told me the Haldex doesn't need looking at until 40k miles and no cleaning needed. I won't be using them. Thankfully theres another one local to me who I'm going to phone today.

Cracked Haldex Unit
Good luck with this John Just bought my first Yeti today and am keen to get the Haldex oil changed and gauze cleaned. Is this DIY'able, or best done at a garage for the sake of £100 or so?

Make sense, theres a couple of independent VAG/Skoda garages where i live in Sheffield so I'll book it in, especially if its no more than £100.

Just put a deposit down on a 2017 Yeti 4x4 2.0L SE L 150PS DSG in Pearl Grey with 35k miles, 1 previous keeper. Took it for a test drive and it drove lovely. Has some nice extras. I wanted this model for towing my caravan, I know they are well thought of for their towing capabilities. Think I'll call it 'Spag' (spaghetti) but I'm guessing thats not very original by now? It's supposed to have had its 30k mike Haldex service, but only got the Skoda dealers word for it. Is it worth getting my local independent Skoda garage to do it, just to be safe? Does it cost around £100?
