  1. I have 2017 Fabia MK3. The coolant has not been changed yet. When do you replace the coolant?
  2. Thank you for the message. Do you have to open a bolt somewhere or would it be enough to stick in a thin plastic stick to pull the third brake light out?
  3. The water goes through the third brake light and enters the rear lights wiring pipe. Please see the video. How do you seal the third Brake light?
  4. I have bought this obd2 device in the attached picture which works fine on VW Passat GTE (hybrid) but it doesn't connect to Skoda Fabia 2016, which is an older model than VW Passat. Does anyone know what obd2 dongle works with Skoda Fabia MK3?
  5. I have a 2017 Skoda Fabia, and it gave me an error in the start/stop system yesterday when I started the car. The engine sign light and EPC light were blinking. However, both of them disappeared after a short drive. After reading this thread, my suspicion went to the battery. So, I measured the battery value to be 12.56. However, this is a factory-fitted battery that has yet to be changed. The battery's health condition seems okay by looking at its health checker (color). Does anyone have a suggestion for me?
  6. I'm positive that all factory set sparkplugs opened at 20 ft-lbs (27Nm). So, I have used the same torque on new ones. What would be the side affect of overtightening and is there way to confirm sparkplugs won't damage piston heads ?
  7. I encountered a discrepancy in torque specifications of the spark plugs. NGK told me by email that the torque should be between 7 - 15 ft-lbs but I have noted the torque while unscrewing the plugs. Skoda has used the torque 20 ft-lbs on all plugs. Do you know the right torque specs as I couldn't find it in maintaince Manual?
  8. I haven't changed the Spark since the car was made in 2016 because the car has only 29000 Km on it. However, I have decided to change it anyway today. Please see the picture of spark plugs. Was it too late to change plugs or do they look ok?
  9. I'm struggling to find an extra jack point under Skoda Fabia 2017. I have attached the front and back pictures with arrow showing the Solid bar where I'm supposed to jack up the car. However, if I jack up the car on the solid bar the jack and stand won't fit together. I have highlighted other positions with alphabets but don't know where to jack up the car. Could someone point to right jack spot in the pictures? Thanks
  10. Thanks for the input everyone. I have ordered new NGK spark plugs.
  11. They are almost 6 years old and came with the car. I have been following all other maintenance schedule except the spark plugs change. I'm still not sure if it will be unnecessary expense or better to change them.
  12. I have Skoda Fabia 2017 with 28000 km on it and the service manual states that you should change the sparkplugs after 60 K Km or 4 years. I have pulled a spark plug out but not sure if I should replace it. Could anyone help by looking at the pictures if I should replace them?
  13. SKODA FABIA (2017) started slightly rough idling on start and then it goes away after driving a bit. It started after the service was done last month at 25000 KM. The service included oil change, brake oil change, air filter, cabin filter and oil filter. There is no warning light on the dashboard yet. I have noticed a start stop function failed once or twice but after restarting the car and driving for a while, start stop error went away as well. This rough idle concerns me. Is it a serious problem? Any advice would be appreciated.
  14. What ob2 scanner do you use/recommend to scan the car for any errors after fixing the car?
  15. I have taken off the wheel, removed the pads, lubricated the caliper slide pins and pads sliding position on the bracket to rule out any lack of lubrication. Everything around the wheel seems nice and tight. Nothing seems to be loose. The brake disks seem to be in a good shape. There was no dirt or debri found between the pads and disks. I have ran out of ideas. Annoying rattling noise is still there! The only thing I could think of is to replace the brake disks but I'm not sure.
  16. There is still some padding left on the brake-pads. I have tied braking hard to get rid of any dirt stuck in there but this noise is persisting for the last month or so. Would it be a good idea to open the Calliper, inspect the brake-pads and lubricate the slide pins and calliper?
  17. Please see the video of the rattling noise. There is plenty padding left on the pads but and caliper is not lose either. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 20210708-210954_y0sFUDun.mp4
  18. In my case, VW has replaced the gearbox since the car was in warranty. I couldn't reproduce the gearbox getting stuck while pulling out from reverse. So, I recorded a video for them to see. I must say it was not a pleasant experience as a customer with VW dealership.
  19. I'm getting a rattling sound when I start rolling the car. It sounds as if someone is jangling the keys. I have checked all the door pockets to make sure there is nothing rattling there. I only hear it when I roll down the window and in slow speed. I took the car to mechanic but they couldn't figure out anything wrong. Did anyone experience this? Any advise would help. Thanks.
  20. Are you sure the spark plugs need to be changed at 65000 Km? The dealership told me that you're supposed to change it at 40000 km or after 4 years. The car is 4 years old now but only 20000 km driven. So, I'm wondering when shall I change them?
  21. Thank you for the replies. It misfired the first and second time after I unplug/plug the electronic switch attached to the spark plug and gave me the error (MFD) above. The error disappeared itself after I restarted the car the 3rd time. I'm not really sure what happened but apparently it was triggered by pluging and unpluging of the switch attached to the spark plug.
  22. I have a 3 years old Skoda Fabia with 20,000 KM on it. I have unplugged spark plug electronic switch to check the spark plugs condition as I have not changed it since the car is manufactured. However, I did not had the right tools to get the spark plug out. So, I reconnected the spark plug electronic switch and tried to start the car. It starts giving me "Error:start stop check your MDF settings". Does anyone know if this error can be triggered by disconnecting and connecting the spark plug switch back on? How can I get it fixed ? Thanks
  23. My car is 36 months old with 11 K Miles on it. Shall I still change the spark plugs?
  24. Thank you for the reply. I have only driven 6000 Km in a year since the last year's service and wondering if It is still a good idea to change the engine oil on the prompted oil change time from the car. I have read that castrol slx longlife iii 5w30 life can last upto 18 months. Also, when shall I change air filter?
