  1. Slowish pan at 1/20th sec. Cameras electronics kept the car nice and sharp.
  2. Knockhill Rally event. Starting to get used to the camera, A firmware update seems to have made the focusing less unpredictable Found a panning assist mode too which works best in shutter priority mode. The weakest link was me with remnants of man flu and a sleepless night and it was bloody cold!
  3. Over at Eyemouth today with the R3.
  4. A few from today. Stayed at a local stately pile over xmas. Back to the lodge tomorrow morning. Also a snap of an old sign which caught my eye a little while ago.
  5. Out and about today, picking up a new floor. Snapped Floors Castle on the camera phone as I was passing.
  6. Hi Lee. You haven’t missed a post as such other than a couple of images of the roof when we finished it as it was quite a mission. It’s more project material than photography so I don’t normally post here except if I’m feeling except pleased with myself🤣 It’s a cemetery gatehouse in the Scottish Borders. Last used by the council for their park keepers etc. We’re extending and converting it. Doing most of the work ourselves.
  7. Plasterer turned up last week and rendered the extension. Had a tidy up and put the fence back up. Looking more complete new guttering and some painting left to finish the outside. We also managed to save the old front doors and use internally which was quite pleasing, not least the £500+ saved for new doors.
  8. A couple of shots from a local flower show and a quick visit to Beamish
  9. Last piece went on the roof today.
  10. A few shots from Knockhill today.
  11. Hope you don’t mind me indulging. Been working on a Victorian gatehouse for a couple of years now, with the roof taking up a large chunk of that time. My son and I have been working with a slater, sorting, holing and cutting bullets out of Welsh slate. The slater does the final sorting and fixing to the roof. The bullets are all done and the last few slate are going on Monday with the roof all completed by the end of next week. We are really pleased with how it’s turned out, with lots of compliments from the locals, though less so from other trades people.. “what you doing all that fancy crap for?..” Still got a way go go with the whole project but another milestone reached.
  12. Another moon lit shot.. Eyemouth Harbour
  13. The northern lights were quite stunning in the Scottish Borders by all accounts. ( I can’t spell ori boriolus..) Too knackered to bother with them tbh as we’re flat out on a property conversion and will be homeless if I don't get my finger out, with a potential buyer for one and another not finished. Also the reason for not much togging lately. We are taking a day off next Sunday and heading to Knockhill for some Rally Cross. Looking forward to posting some mediocre shots of the local scrotes smashing their Poxhall Novas around a dirt track.. In the meantime a camera phone shot taken last night on the way back from the kebab shop.
  14. Visiting Royal Navy patrol boat, HMS Explorer. The hull is good for 50mph, engine dependent apparently.
  15. Been a busy few days so some down time and fish and chips at Eyemouth this evening.
  16. Grey import R3 is £3400 doesn’t make sense to buy secondhand at those prices. R1 is a big jump price wise for not a great deal more. If the resolution was higher I’d think about it. Though ideally an R5ii in an R3 body would do me. @Graham Butcher Glass technology doesn’t date as quickly as camera bodies, though can be expensive so it’s seen as a long term investment. I’m stuck with RF glass and Canon now, unless something extraordinary is produced by another manufacturer. That said it’s just too expensive to change systems nowadays.
  17. Lovely bit of kit, a mate hankers after the RF 100-300 2.8 version, he uses a Fuji.. Sometimes you just gotta get that gadget. Nifty fifty.. still in the box, Macro.. used once. Studio strobes.. as new. We won’t mention the R3.🤣 Better get on, got two pieces of plasterboard to put up, plasterboard gun on its way.🤣 I’m on Stovies for the rest of the year..
  18. Thanks Graham. You can remove the shadows as well, though if you didn’t know there were wires there I’m not sure you’d notice unless you’re a proper rivet counter. I changed the settings on the image as the original had very dark shadows and I wanted a bit more detail. Not to everyone’s taste but I quite like the look Graham.
  19. Camera phone shot of Stewart on the roof. Before and after. Removed the wires and the edge of the telegraph pole down the right side using A.I. in Adobe Lightroom. Left the wire shadow on the fascia board though.🤣
  20. Mine after a bit of a tidy up.🤣
  21. Been doing up an old lodge and been working with an old skool slater, sorting and holing slate, also hand cutting slate bullets. Been a labour of love over the last 10 months. Pleased with a silhouette of the slater chalking his lines and another of some roof detail and the renovated chimney. Popped out today to get a few bits and managed a quick snap of the landscape. All camera phone shots
  22. Thanks PP much appreciated.👍 A few from a wander around the walled garden at Floors Castle.
  23. A few snaps from a local cricket match last Saturday.
  24. Out snapping the local pond life and also trying out a new macro lens.
  25. A couple of cricket shots from an evening match this week in Kelso.
