  1. I've got that one too - picked it up for £5 second hand Fits perfectly and is pretty sturdy - great purchase
  2. I've got a 2016 Superb L&K. The seats are comfortable - I'm 5 foot 9 and 68kg. They don't have much side support (unlike my hot hatch) - but they're very comfortable for cruising. No complaints here at all.
  3. Thanks - yes it was press fit and no need to bring out a hammer - much easier to use fingers (and trim removal tools where necessary). I did this today and wrote more about it on my Build log.
  4. How to replace the inner door rubber seal Skoda Superb 3V 2016: I finally got around to replacing the broken / worn inner door rubber seal on the right front door (drivers side) - it had been torn by a previous owner. The first job was to remove the panel on the side of the dashboard using a trim removal tool (photo shows the clips - no screws). Second job was to remove the existing rubber, which was quite easy to do - but to get the last piece out I had to remove the trim on the A-pillar. This is just clipped in. At this point I managed to get most of the rubber seal in - but couldn't get the last bit in the top left in as there wasn't enough room / give in the B-pillar trim. Consequently I had to remove this trim - which was a bit fiddly. Most of it unclips, but there is a Torx screw hidden under the airbag logo at the top - use a screwdriver to pry this plastic cover off (it's very right). The two bits of plastic have to slot together before re-assembly (see photo) - otherwise the seatbelt height adjuster isn't held in place properly. All done and re-assembled in around an hour and a half.
  5. I bought this part and it looks correct - as far as I can see the left and right parts are the same (the seal doesn't actually have the last 3 characters printed on it). I haven't fitted yet - but as far as I can see it is press fit (not glued), but it is trapped behind numerous bits of plastic trim that hold it in place - so it's going to be a fiddly piece to change!
  6. Looks good. The wheels are aftermarket, but other than that it looks ok. It has a heated windscreen which I find very useful. It's a great size for carrying children - as you can see in the photos. Check that it's been serviced and that the DSG oil filter and oil has been changed if it's done over 40,000 miles (65,000 km)
  7. Looks nice! A few touches there which are a bit much for me (mostly the splitters), but overall it looks great.
  8. Hi all, I'm looking for some advice - the drivers side door inner rubber seal is quite worn (and has partially split) on my 2016 Superb. Does anyone know the correct part number and have any tips for how to remove the existing seal and replace? This is the best part I've managed to find - is this right? Does it need to be glued or is it just a press fit? Thanks! Chris
  9. Looks great! If you plan to do much in the way of tinkering it may be worth creating a build or project thread
  10. No idea on DSG servicing costs - it's pretty simple - just a filter and fluid change so shouldn't cost a great deal. The fluid (6L) and filter costs around £90 in total, so anything up to around £150 is reasonable.
  11. Try to check that all the toys work - the L&K should have most things installed as standard (as it's the highest trim level). Make sure you get a test drive. The DSG should have had it's oil filter changed and oil replaced at 40,000 miles so check that it's been done Looks like a good car.
  12. I agree. I bought mine second hand from a dealer in Liverpool in March 2020. I paid a £300 deposit (refundable) and paid for the car to be shipped closer to where I live (one of their other dealerships) for £90 (non-refundable) to inspect the car properly and then finalise the deal. The car was immediately marked as 'sold' on their website and was mine unless I refused it. A week or so earlier (Feb 2020) I saw a L&K appear at a Skoda main dealer near me - it was on their website but had sold before I could go and see it in person (and before the photos had been uploaded). It turned out to have a cream interior, which I didn't want - so it wasn't meant to be. Long story short - they sell very quickly - but be patient and you'll find the right one. When you do find one, don't be afraid of moving quickly with a (refundable) deposit. The 280 L&K (or a well equipped Sportline) is definitely worth waiting for
  13. 1.8 TSI? I haven't seen that engine before, I wonder if it's unique to the Indian market? Looks good
  14. The photos have now been uploaded - it looks like a great spec (almost identical to mine, but with the 19 inch wheels). If I didn't have one already - I'd get a deposit down ASAP
  15. Going back to the point of this thread, this has just popped up on AutoTrader. Worth a look 2016 (66) 280 L&K Estate, 29,000 miles - £17,495.
  16. It's petrol - therefore it won't have been a taxi (it would be financially stupid). Make sure you take a thorough look at it. I think you're referring to this advert. A couple of points I've noticed: Looks like a privately owned car It has MIB 2.5, which is good (the larger touch screen without physical buttons) Unfortunately there's no heated windscreen (which is an essential option for me) Inside looks a bit dirty and well used in places (i.e. worn), but may come across better in person rather than photos Personally, I think this car (£15k) looks in better condition and better equipped with key options such as heated windscreen and all-round parking sensors (2016 L&K). It also has less miles. You can easily update the infotainment to MIB 2.5 (from 2.0) if you want the larger screen.
  17. What an odd spec! You would think they'd just mirror the Euro spec for Australia rather than coming up with a new standard. You've got a mix of 2016 and 2021 in one car. The DQ250 gearbox is superb in my 2016 car. Thanks for sharing
  18. If you just want the DSG paddles you just need to swap the wheel over to one with paddles, no other changes required (no software and no hardware changes). I'm sure I've seen new wheels being sold on eBay.de with heated elements and paddles for around 200 euros
  19. DSG service is easy - new filter and new gearbox oil. Standard for this to be done at 40,000 miles. More details on DIY on my build log.
  20. As standard it comes with 18 inch wheels in the UK. 19 inch wheels are an upgrade. I'd have thought the aero difference would be fairly negligible - your driving style will have a bigger difference. The 18 inch wheels should be better on fuel economy than the heavier 19 inch wheels.
  21. Circa £600 for the new screen and re-programming your glove-box head unit.
  22. No - look at the photos on the original advert. Looks like a very late MIB2 car (early 2017). Later 2017 cars had the MIB2.5 9.2" Columbus screen (rather than the earlier 8" Columbus MIB2)
  23. Took off the wheels with all-season tyres and put the summer wheels & tyres back on last weekend. I took the opportunity to put the newest tyres on the front. Decided not to buy any new summer tyres yet - but once these have worn down will get some better quality rubber on (rather than the bargain-basement tyres that the dealer fitted).
  24. Looks great! I hope it goes through. Just for info, if you want to upgrade the infotainment to the later MIB2.5 touch screens (as on newer Superbs) it's possible. Details on my build thread (linked on my left).
