Anyone dead set on Sportline estate, but then changed to an L&K and glad you did ?
It was second hand, so it was all selected for me. Business grey, black leather, 18 inch wheels. Park assist is a necessity I would say (I would also upgrade to the reversing camera too). The car is very long a I use park assist (the all-around sensors at least) on a daily basis. More details of my particular car on my project log (link under my avatar).

You get quite a few more toys on the L&K - the Sportline is a lower spec, and more expensive if you include all of the options that the L&K has as standard. The seats in the L&K are fine, but don't hug you unless you're very wide - the Sportline seats would be more supportive. The L&K is more subtle, if that's important to you. I went with the L&K (second hand) and don't regret it one bit.

Superb 280 mpg realistic
Probably about 20mpg at that speed... Not sure what that is in litres / km

What year are these from
Yep those are the official rubber mats from the Mk3 (i.e. 2015 onwards). They're pretty good - I've got the rears in my car and they fit perfectly.

Superb 280 mpg realistic
Our 280 gets mid 20 mpg in town, between 30 and 40 mpg on a longer run. I find the gearing perfectly fine in the 6-speed DSG, it's around 2500 rpm at 70mph, which is the same as the 6th gear in my other car (a hot-hatch)

A sleeper's Journey the next chapter - Homage to Darth!
Wow you're not having much luck! Good power numbers though 😃

Superb 320 PS TSi R ????
Very unlikely TBH, they're more likely to kill the 272/280 completely. VAG are fairly strict on the brand hierarchy - the Skoda product will have to be lower power than the VW equivalent.

Retrofit Heated Steering Wheel
Yes - of course it's possible. I haven't yet worked out how - but in other cars you'd typically have to replace the clock spring on the steering column, plus replace the steering wheel itself with one that has a heated element. The car would also have to be re-programmed using VCDS. No other buttons should be required as it's activated via a menu on the infotainment screen.

Sasha’s Superb SportLine Plus Facelift
How has such a new car got such a high mileage! Good choice on the Mk7.5 Golf - much better than the Mk8. Hope it treats you well

The new (resurrected) family wagon - project log
Can't believe it took me a year to notice... after the crash repair there was no L&K emblem / badge on the left hand side of the car. Carefully aligned using my phone as a measurement point to the bonnet (good enough for me - I can't be bothered to measure it properly!) Now sorted 😁

Winter wheels for Skoda Superb mkIII 4x4 sportline
if you've got them already, why not just see if they fit? I wouldn't buy them new, but they might fit. I've got 215/55 R17 wheels on mine for Winter (standard Skoda SE Spec alloys)

What happened? Did you bottom out on the exhaust somewhere?

Wow, that's a healthy increase in power!

Camera
It is possible to retrofit, but it will be difficult to add front sensors. The rear camera can be retrofitted as well, but requires the camera plus wiring all the way through the car to the head unit (i.e. radio). Both will be a pain.

flappy paddles
I wouldn't worry about it. If your car doesn't have the paddles, you can just change the steering wheel to one with paddles and they'll work out of the box, with no software coding changes on the car needed.

That's the most unsuspecting car for meth injection! 😄 How's the sound deadening working out for you? Does it make it noticeably quieter, or muffle the sound of the new custom exhaust?

The new (resurrected) family wagon - project log
Another year, another service and MOT completed, all the standard air, oil filters etc replaced and new spark plugs. No other issues to report - although once in a blue moon the boot refuses to close. It works 99% of the time, so no new boot struts required (yet!). Now at 47,000 miles.

Any photos? Why tint the windows - surely the glass behind the B pillar is already tinted?

Power Tailgate Fault
I've had this error a few times (boot is open, press button to close then it beeps a few times without moving), and it is intermittent. Always seems to go away eventually - sometimes after an ignition cycle, or otherwise once I've manually forced the boot to be closed. Hopefully I won't have to buy new struts anytime soon. Anyone know the part numbers?

Still looks a bit low at the back in my view - but it's your car. Yes I sent off the glove-box unit to pab567 in Poland to upgrade and return, he also supplied the screen (and I sold my old screen). It's a great upgrade.

A sleeper's Journey the next chapter - Homage to Darth!
Very nice - watching this with interest! Are you going to keep it looking standard from the outside or are you going to make it look more aggressive? My 2016 L&K is staying standard (I have another car to modify) - but great to see what you're doing P.S. Are you going to be upgrading the Infotainment? You can upgrade to the 2017+ MIB 2.5 system (with the larger screen) fairly easily (see my build log for more info)

What do 280/272 owners think of sport mode?
I usually put the car in Sport mode (steering, DCC etc), then immediately pull the DSG lever back to put the gearbox back in normal (drive). If I want manual control - just push the lever across and you can play with the gears manually - or use the paddles for short-term changes. For my own use this works great - I have no desire to re-map the DSG - I'd rather have longevity!

Wheels help please
I use 17 inch winter wheels, and 18 inch summer wheels - both are OEM. There's not a great deal in it comfort wise - my car does have DCC though. The 18 inch wheels look good and they ride well too - probably the best compromise in size for the Superb - but they are much easier to kerb than the 17 inch wheels. The 19 inch wheels look even better - but they're more expensive. One final point to note - the 17 inch wheels are much cheaper to get tyres for!
