L&K Contrast Stitching Leather Seats
It's not something that you can spec, so I think it's just down to what was built by Skoda at the time of assembly. Just keep your eyes open for what you want

Superb Sportline Engine options in Ireland
Surely this is just an Irish tax issue? Is there a way to buy in NI and import over? (although I imagine that has been covered off / banned by legislation)

Superb 272 Sportline vs Golf R Estate
The leather issue may be the sticking point here, I don't think it's possible to get a 280 / 272 Superb without leather... so you'll have to get the Golf R with it's standard seats. I don't really understand why leather would be a bad thing though - much better to have wipe clean seats with children - food, vomit etc. can all be wiped off. Much more sensible than any other material. If she's worried about leather being too hot or cold then ventilated seats is the answer.

Superb 272 Sportline vs Golf R Estate
I have a Focus RS for fun and the Superb 280 estate (which I bought 2nd hand). The Superb obviously isn't as quick, nor as sharp in corners (than the Focus) but it's pretty good for such a massive car. My car is a L&K 280 with DCC (DCC makes a big difference). I did consider the Golf R Estate but the Superb was a better option for me given that: - it's more practical for children / car seats (mostly due to sheer size) - it's less nickable (and therefore much cheaper insurance) - it's also slightly cheaper and much easier to find with heated windscreen (finding a Golf R with the windscreen is hard). I think this is an essential option for the UK. I'm delighted with my purchase. For reference I'm in my low 30s with 2 children and the space in the Superb is wonderful for massive car seats! Some good thoughts above!

What have they done to this superb?
I would guess that car has also been tuned - highly likely given the aftermarket air intake. Worth keeping an eye on this one although bear in mind that you may need a new engine... You're looking at £18k+ for a standard 280 so this could be a bargain... But be careful!

The new (resurrected) family wagon - project log
Quick update - bought some new official Skoda rubber floor mats and a tunnel protector to protect the back from the kids: http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Floor-mats-Carpets/ I think they look great.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
'Fitted' the official Skoda rear rubber mats and tunnel cover today from SuperSkoda: http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Floor-mats-Carpets/ Very pleased with the results, they fit perfectly (unsurprisingly) and should further child-proof the car!

Power tailgate malfunction
sounds like a sensor issue to me (not being able to tell if it's open / closed) - but best take it to the dealer to investigate.

2018 Superb 280 - Foglight moisture - normal ???
Mine too, but only apparent on close inspection. No moss on my window seals though! (I try to keep those clean)

Head unit-radio etc...
Best speak to pab567, you'll need your head unit (glove box) reprogrammed if it's MIB2

Superb trim considerations 2018/19
With that kind of mileage surely petrol would be better suited? (Than diesel)

The Killer Rabbit of Carbanog
Looks nice, any more info on the car? Looks like a good family wagon! 😃

The new (resurrected) family wagon - project log
Best to contact pab567, he sourced the screen for me and completed the re-programming and did a good job. 😃

The new (resurrected) family wagon - project log
Yes you need to send the glove box unit away for re-programming (from MIB2 to 2.5) and a new screen.

The 280PS Thread
I've got a 280 and I changed the oil on the DSG and Haldex at 40,000 miles myself (as I wasn't sure whether anyone had done it). Further info here:

Petrol Vapour Collection System
That looks like oil / petrol leaking in your photo (given the rainbow effect on the ground). This is all I know (which I expect you've found already). I'd get your dealer to investigate / replace the evap canister if your car is still in warranty.

Why no variable load bay?
TBH I'd rather have the extra space (and save the weight), I don't care about loading stuff over a load-lip. Who cares if there's a ridge when the rear seats are folder down!?

I collected my Sportline this week.
Looks nice! Those LED headlights look great. Enjoy 😀

Carplay song info in virtual cocpit
Yes, but normally this is outside of Carplay / Android Auto. Try connecting your phone just via Bluetooth (i.e. don't open CarPlay), you should be able to play music just fine and see the track information on the virtual cockpit.

How to tell if you have DCC
Hi all, Stupid question - how do you tell if you've got DCC? I've got a Superb 3 280 L&K (66 plate). I have drive modes, but not sure if this affects the suspension. Thanks

Adding USB ports in armrest?
Has anyone managed to install further USB ports in the Mk3 Superb? My 2016 car only has one USB port by the climate control buttons and it's frustrating. I'd love to install further ports in the cubby under the drivers' arm rest - which I believe has been installed in later cars. Has anyone attempted the retrofit?

The new (resurrected) family wagon - project log
Hello all, Just before lockdown, I picked purchased a 2016 Superb L&K 280 from Arnold Clark. It's a much needed size upgrade on our 2009 Fiesta (part exchanged) and is our new family barge - mostly for short trips but occasionally for longer ones (hence why it's not a diesel). The car had covered 40,000 miles and had a very patchy service history. But it did have the spec I wanted plus it was cheap enough to bring it (just) into budget. Plus as my wife's car / the family car it's good if it's had some good use already - so I'm not too precious about it. My plan for the car is to tidy it up a little and to give it some much needed TLC - it's only ever been serviced twice as far as I can see... Collection day: My wife's bear immediately placed (don't ask): Child seats installed (hence the need for a big car!): Dash cam installed (and hard wired into fuse box): Engine bay (with plastic cover temporarily removed): EA888 engine code: Evidence of patchy service history (as well as a few other stickers) removed from drivers door frame: Dodgy wiring for an old dash-cam on the drivers side removed (yes that is a cigarette lighter! ) : MIB 2 unit removed (to be sent off for re-programming as MIB 2.5): New Columbus 9.2" screen during testing (hasn't arrived yet - thanks to pab567 ) The next job is to replace the oil on the Haldex pump and clean the filter myself (fairly sure that it's never been done) and to replace the DSG gearbox oil (again, I'm fairly sure this hasn't been done but I may get a garage to do it once lockdown has lifted). I sourced the boot liner second-hand for circa £5 on eBay, which I'm delighted with as it's like new: Interior shot: The steering wheel has a large imprint of where the steering wheel controls were, but if you can overlook that, it does mean that the rest of the wheel is like new (as it's barely been used). I've also disabled KESSY using VCDS, which is much better for peace of mind and isn't too annoying for daily use. More to come - thanks for looking. Chris

How to disable KESSY with VCDS
Hello all, I've recently bought a 2016 Skoda Superb L&K and I'm trying to disable KESSY using VCDS. I bought VCDS from Gendan. I've been following the instructions below, but VCDS doesn't ask for a security key. Instead if gives me an error when I try to make the change. Any ideas? Thanks!
