I reached out to Skoda folks. They are aware of the issues and are working on resolving them. Soon there will be an update and all of the issues with Skoda Connect will be resolved. That is what I have been promised from Skoda Europe HQ.

An update for the updates. 😄 I reached out to Skoda directly folks. By directly, I mean DIRECTLY in the Czech Republic. I have listed all of the annoying things about the car including Skoda Connect and so on.. They are well aware of the issues we are experiencing. They promised me they will get to the bottom of everything and will deliver and update soon.

Actually with the whole COVID19 going on, I couldn't actually see and feel the new Octavia so me and my wife looked at the Mk3. We were a bit disappointed. We already have a Skoda Rapid 2017 in the family and it was not miles off that car, just a bit bigger and basically the same. Then a week before I bought mine, they brought the very first Lava Blue mk4. The quality of the materials and the difference is mind boggling. You can go in the showroom and see for yourself. As for road noise they have added one more rubber stripping in the doors (like in the Passat) to make it quieter. All in all I think money wise you cannot get better than this. That's IMHO. My second/third choice would be a Hybrid Toyota Corolla Wagon or my wife's favorite Tuscon.

I have a Skoda Rapid as well, and I cannot agree with you. The Octavia is much much quieter 😎

Believe or not that was one of the main reasons why I opted for the smaller screen. I have physical buttons and touch at the same time. Navigation? Nothing beats Google Maps hence Android Auto. The things that start to annoy me with the car is purely mechanical. The engineering on the Tsi. It is a great engine, but you feel it that it has been rushed to production. They haven't tested it properly. I know it is a quick fix for Dieselgate, and a response to Toyotas Hybrid system, but I read tons and tons of annoying things and I experience them first hand, and they are so obvious but you get the feeling that they were just brushed aside. The worrying part is that, there are no updates on the complaints. Skoda is aware of what we talk here. I even instructed Skoda UK to follow this forum and this thread.

Hey folks I have noticed that after a two hour motorway drive, when I park the car and let it idle for a bit, and turn the car off, there is a loud popping noise. The only explanation I have is possibly a residual gas in the exhaust, and since the exhaust is hot, it ignites it. Has anyone experienced this. This is not happening when I drive in the city.

I have the physical knobs on mine. I hold it pressed and it restarts and it worked.

Yesterday I have checked. In Updates there was an update recently about the WLAN or something. Still I cannot connect to my Xiaomi Note 10. Cable works. Tbh I get my phone charged and plus I am using Android Auto with Hey Google 😎

Actually yesterday I have checked and there was an update for the Wifi.

I did a test today mate with a power hose. Gushed tons of water on the car, waited 1-2 minutes to stop dripping, opened the doors,no water was coming out. But I have the chrome trim if that makes a difference

Hm, I haven't noticed this on my car. I will give it a go when I do the car wash tomorrow. Tbh I haven't seen or noticed a gushing water when opening the door. I do wash the car by myself using a powerhose.

It turns out it depends in which country you are in. 😒 This is an official reply from Skoda. Mine doesn't work at all. I have them as an option to click upon, but it gives out a random error.

I have Ambient light as standard. I have the 8'5 inch screen so Android Auto for me 😄 But the lights...I want those now.

Scrolling indicators are different, but for this light bar. Ha! I think there are a lot more options turned off. VAG for you. Jesus.
