When we got our 4x4 150 and it seems rather flat after the 170 we had before. We bought it with about 20k on the clock, it now has 40k. It felt slower than our 110 Fabia. In the last few weeks it has felt more responsive. Is it my head or do ECUs learn your driving style? Can engines free off? Does a good thrashing clear out the emission system? Thoughts?

On manual 150tdi, not sure I'm noticing much difference in the modes? Thoughts?

Tyres are the OE Kuhmos.

I recently bought a 110tsi 1.0 estate. It pulls really well, but felt a bit like it was taking bends at any speed like a 50p coin, understeering . The tyres were at 28psi. I blew them up to about 34, the fully laden figure and it feels better, but it may all be in my head?. I've not driven in poor weather yet through surface water so don't know . I wondered what other people's experience is? The tyres are 185/60/15.

Out of interest, what is the cost of sorting out your engine?

The 110 TSI performance figures are about the same as a MK2 fiesta xr2. I expect the appeal of a fabia to boy racers and the improved safety features may have helped.

Fabia Estate - 95 vs 110 psi?
Shaw8670 replied to Mattdanielc's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
110 great. I've just moved to one from a 140bhptdi Octavia and there isn't much difference in performance. In a small car 110bhp makes it nippy. I'm hoping changing from the 15 inch 185/60 tyres to put a bit more rubber on the road will be good. -
Fabia 1.0 TSI 110hp - What are they like to live with?
Shaw8670 replied to MATT0693's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
I've had a 110tsi for 2 weeks. After a 140tdi Octavia it is not much slower. Punchy revvy engine, returning low 50s to the gallon. Accelerates from 60-90mph briskly. When you look at the performance figures they're about the same as an 80s xr2.... As I understand it, the 110 is the only 1.0litre that has a 6 speed box, which quietens things down. I've bought a set of 16 inch alloys and will put 205 tyres on as I feel it doesn't out enough rubber on the road on 60 profile 15s. -
In fact our fabia 1.0tsi 110 feels like it pulls quicker, but it may be perception as it is smaller and louder.....

Ours is 2018 with adblu. What do folk think, chip or remap?
-
Hi All, we changed from a Mk2 170tdi, to a mk 3 150tdi 4x4. An Octavia 4x4 didn't lose power to a 4x2 in my opinion. I find the Superb 2.0 a bit sluggish and 8-10mpg down on the mk2 170. Time for a remap? I thought the drop to 150 would be compensated for a bit by the mk3 being a bit lighter. Does the Mk3 diesel adblue system strangle it? Thoughts re making this car a bit punchier?

Can you fit the whirly plastic screw to screw the wheel down? -
Spare Wheel for Super 2018, 18" Wheels

Thanks for the replies so far! A -
I have a 2018 estate which has no spare and a polystyrene holder of a shape that won't take a wheel. Is there another polystyrene fitting that I need to get hold of and how much does it matter if there is a slight diameter difference on the spare? The difference would be about 1cm?
