  1. Hello again chaps so with what little time in the evenings I’ve had, still cannot find the wiper stalk controls within vagcom/vcds.( Don’t really know what to do with it) Think I will take the rear window door card off the Mk2 Vrs estate again and see if I can chase the wiring back. Thank you very much for your help.
  2. That’s fantastic Thank you guys. I will get out tonight with vcds, after putting babies to bed. I think it might be worth my while finding out how to use it more than my basic Autoscan and clear or basic settings and clear faults that I have been using. Will deffo post results Thanks again
  3. Oh.That’s strange. As far as I know, there is nothing I’ve done within vcds to get it to this state. Maybe the previous owner?? At least I know it works niw.So I’m guessing there is no signal from stalk to rear washer. Would you be able to guide me how to correct this issue with vcds please? Really appreciate your help and knowledge
  4. Hi Nige its a ccza engine code - late 2010 Thanks so much Also understood about the battery management 👍
  5. Many Thanks chaps for the help thus far,i have just had a spurt of water from the rear washer on the estate for the 1st time since owning the car!! I went out with the torch and vcds and following nige8021’s guidance I went in this path…. Installed 09- Central Electrics Output Tests -03 Select a Test Windscreen Washer Rear And it worked! Although not a fan shaped blast of washer fluid but the motor sounded strong. Now going back within vcds I checked fault codes in central electrics and 2 came up that will not stay cleared/erase. The photos are below J605 is Rear Lid Control Module Not sure what the other code is Any ideas what these are and where and how to replace the Rear Lid Control Module please folks? Or maybe I have to do an adaption with vcds?? I did, some months ago, replace the rear wiper motor and arm as that only ever seems to work once when I reverse the car. Maybe I have upset the system and would be great if I don’t have to keep throwing parts at the car too…. Please let me know your thoughts and I will deffo keep updating so as to hopefully help someone in future. Thanks very much
  6. That’s a fantastic, straight forward, easy to understand answer. Thank you everyone for your knowledge. I will get vcds on her tonight and I will send my results on here either way, hoping it will help someone in future.
  7. Well another update. There is no relay board on passenger side under the glove box. Went back to the relays under the steering wheel and swapped the 2 small 646 relays at the top on my photograph. Still no different. The front washer works but the rear screen washer does not. Any help or guidance how to find this with vcds would be great. Thanks everyone
  8. Thank you very much MicMac. The rear wiper which I changed the motor out on a few months ago, does indeed work when I reverse but not the actual water jet at all,no noise, nothing. I swapped the pump out last night as well. Just taken the lower steering wheel dash apart to get to the relays abs they are not the cluster of relays I need. Now I’ll have to take apart the under glove box fascia off to get to the relay cluster I have shown in my above diagram. Aaarggh! Would be good if someone could guide me through using vcds to check the rear wiper if possible please. Thanks again,I will keep you all updated
  9. I’m Still looking for some help but may I add this too as I Found this relay layout for my vehicle FL Mk2 …. Either B7 or B8 relay? hope that helps someone in future
  10. Good morning folks I hope you are all well. Just like to say this has been the most helpful car forum I have joined btw. So as above,I have replaced the dual front/rear washer pump last night but as I move the steering washer stalk forwards to activate the rear washer on my vrs estate, nothing happens. No noise.Front works fine and tracing the pipe work in the rear left footwell,no un-connection there. Im hoping it is a relay issue.(Under the drivers dash?) Does anybody know the correct relay or how to meter a relay? Also I do have vcds but do not know how to find this rear washer coding within it.Any help would be great please. Thank you in advance.
  11. Found the oil pressure switch on the ccza engine guys. It is really easily accessible just underneath the oil filter,a brown colour switch/sensor which is above a blue one,but needs a deep 24mm socket which I’ve ordered. There was no oil leak present on mine,I’m a bit disappointed to be honest as I was hoping this was the cause of the oil leak on top of the turbo oil inlet.Like I say,I’ve just changed out the gasket for that so I will monitor it plus plug vcds into the car every few days plus keep an eye on oil levels. Thanks again and I hope this may help someone in future.
  12. This has got me wondering now…. The oil leak further up and not a gearbox seal/flange at all……. The other day I was spiritedly putting the boot down as just coming into a dual carriageway. The car seemed to safety lunge slow down and go into a limp mode of sorts. I pulled in straight away and stuck vcds on it.It showed P164B-Oil Pressure switch-intermittent.Cleared the code and carried on. Friday morning I changed out the weeping with oil, turbo inlet gasket and car does seem to be better.Gasket was quite rusty/rotten. I now have a new genuine 038919081H(C or K) oil pressure switch.I have been reading a lot on this today and it could actually be the culprit.even spraying oil down as far as the driveshaft/gearbox area that has oil on it….. What do you think? I will change it out tomorrow morning anyway as it was only £7 odd.Apparently these are prone to leak either in the thread to engine join or inside the actual sensor wire region also. Today Just for luck I put a new Maan oil filter in,my previous Bosch had only done 3000 odd miles but it gave me some peace of mind and I also replaced the fuel tank area inline fuel filter as I’d only changed the engine fuel filter when I bought the car. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you for your help and I will post my results after swapping out the oil pressure sensor tomorrow. (It is located under the air intake pipes on the back of the engine right??)
  13. Been back under the car,it’s deffo a T30. I put my bit in again to give it an extra raunch. Heres a photo I just took. Also the XZN bolts photo I ordered these to replace the originals if too rounded off(Eyesights not so great close up,you have to approach these bolts head on straight or they will round off) Thanks everyone. Original gasket was rotten and car feels as if has lost a slight misfire now too after replacing.I first replaced all spark plugs and coil packs! This misfire became much more noticeable after the new stainless steel exhaust
  14. That’s brilliant advice Thank You MicMac I will check that out before proceeding for sure
  15. I’ll be going back under there in the next few days,I’ll get a photo. I was sure it was the XZN m8 but no dice.Paid £9.99 for fedex next day delivery of the 2x@33p each bolts too! My little Bahco mini ratchet set had the bit that fit-actually looks like a T30
  16. An update here again. Those XZN bits are not needed for the bolts which hold the turbo oil return after all. They are regular Torx-I think T25? So now I have the XZN bit kit anyway,I’m sure will come in handy in future for our cars. Thanks again for all of your help chaos and ladies.
  17. I have ordered from gsf a manual transmission flange seal-my right side driveshaft tha goes into the gearbox is weeping,as shown in my photo. Although now it’s just arrived in the post-part number 002301189c, it looks like it is a lot smaller than the part I need. Is there anything special I will need to do this job myself? Do I need more gaskets when I open her up?? Thanks so much for your help, this is the best auto forum I have used.
  18. Thanks Wino im sure these bits will come in handy elsewhere on our cars in future,Driveshafts etc etc. This kit was £13.95 on the big A
  19. Also for anyones interest, the EA888 engines turbo oil feed pipe(circled in yellow above) uses a simple round copper washer rather than a gasket that is needed in the Return pipe. Cheers.
  20. Hmm the vag -4 triple square kit,all are too big for these turbo oil bolts which are either M8 or M9. Now another kit is on the way from Amazon. Wish this VAG group kept things simple with sockets and the odd Allen key fittings!
  21. Anyone that is interested, these turbo oil return bolts are indeed XZN type,I bought 2 at 33p each from all car parts fast uk The XZN bits for VAG,I bought a kit of 4 bits,Us Pro on Amazon for under a tenner.
  22. Ah Wino to the rescue again! Thank you for your quick, detailed reply and as always,a wealth of knowledge Regards
  23. Hello to you all and I hope you are well CCZA engine 1z5 vrs octavia estate 2010 model. Does anybody know what this weeping turbo oil feed? Gasket is please? I already have the gasket 06F145757L for the turbo oil return to replace which is quite bad indeed but think the one underneath it with the banjo? Fitting should also be replaced.Want to do this asap before I blow the turbo!! I’ve taken some photos,1st one with yellow crayon is the one I’m quizzing about,2nd photo (Oil return)is the part number I already have. P.S I think I will renew the torx? Bolts for the oil return if anyone knows their size please, they seem a bit soft when I put a socket in there ….. Thank You very much for your help
  24. I’m under there now,it’s reversed up on to the ramps. It totally looks do able by only removing the inner bush bolts on the rear control arms….. will it go wrong? Thank you MicMac,you are a legend
