  2. Well then I’m back to square one then MicMac.Only works when I put into reverse gear and also zero sound or screenwash -nothing from the rear washer jet. I have driven this car about 500 miles since buying it mid November. Broken wiring for sure ecu to coolant temp sensor - tonight resigned to get an auto electrician to do it- I give up. Complete wrong front springs after getting new front struts fitted. it’s been up n down on axle stands more than a whores knickers. I just really want to drive it!!!
  3. Thank you Russ. I did actually do the same strip down myself before buying a new motor. The old one now works after testing- exactly the same as the new one! On doing some more reading on here tonight on posts going back some years,it seems that the rear wiper ONLY works when in reverse gear on the mk2 Octavia!! Doh!! Anyway it seems the motors are prone to failure so all is not lost,I’ve a spare for if it happens Thank you everyone for your help. This is the best motoring forum I’ve joined over various marques of car ownership in the past.
  4. Well that excellent answer has saved me about £70 for a new battery this morning so I Thank You very much for that. Magic eye is green,no problem starting at all and it reads 12.3v after a good few days no use apart from Carista on/off tests. Will be doing your suggested procedure in the next couple of hours fingers crossed too and I will report back. Have a great day one and all.
  5. Hi MicMac.Ok great I will deffo do that. I did take the battery out to recharge twice as some gremlin fans problem I had drained the battery flat. Ive had the rear wiper problem since buying the car 2 months ago.So far it’s been on the drive more than on the road due to a suspension overhaul and coolant sensor wiring issue that’s scared me from blowing the engine. Will try your suggestion tomorrow but also considering buying a new 096 batteryanyway, you think that would be money well spent? Thanks again.
  6. Hello to you all and I hope you are well. Today I fitted the brand new rear wiper motor which only works when I put the car into reverse, after me stripping down and greasing up the old motor and getting zero. Ive since re-fitted the old motor today just to test and that now works! but also only in reverse gear!! Changed drivers side fuse 41 twice for the motor. Put a fuse in slot 42 for the washer even though it says empty slot in my Skoda manual. Ive also stripped back the interior carpet/cd stack area at the back and the washer pipe is still intact and joined. No noise at all from rear washer motor when I push forward on the right steering wheel stalk. Sprayed electrical contact cleaner in the stalk. Im flummoxed. Don’t really want to blank it off as it’s a Vrs estate 2010 tfsi and I’ve already spent money on a new motor I didn’t need. Changed all fuses today in the engine fuse box. Also tried all ways in adaptions re wipers in Carista App.Also no problem code showing for this. Any ideas please folks? Thank you very much

  8. Brilliant info Thank You.Yes I know what you mean- the suspension parts are a minefield of lots of different variations. I’ve gone ahead and ordered Vogtland 35mm lowering springs for all 4 corners, seeing as I have to do the whole job all over again. Thanks again.
  9. Sorry just seen end of your post Carlston,I meant B4 struts and shocks I’ve been looking at suspension part numbers for way too long!!
  10. Bloody gutted the new mechanic I paid £365 for labour only to fit my new front Bilstein B3 struts and top mount/bearing kit plus Whiteline Rarb didn’t point this out, before I myself fitted the rear B3’s and new springs then a 4 wheel alignment and it STILL looking like a tractor!! Just hoping this helps some other folk in the future
  11. 1K0411105DB front coil spring Is for an automatic estate as heavier front end 1K0411105DA is for a manual estate As I say I’ve just found your info but I am baffled as of the correct dot colours on there and what I actually need ...... Also 1K0411105DA is saying incorrect/won’t fit my vrs estate Very weird indeed
  12. Yes sir, that’s what came on the car.I am baffled too! Been looking for hours.Just seen your post reference part number for petrol manual estate vrs mk2 200bhp (1z5) but I am still confused as when I input that part number, says not compatible for my car!
  13. Ahhh legend.Thank you so much for your help Wino and J.R I will report back with fingers crossed, positive results Have a great day to All
  14. Bloody brilliant idea! I will deffo do that first Many Thanks
  15. I can’t wait to have a fiddle with that same, easy to find sensor again and hopefully fix and clear that bloody code tomorrow morning!
  16. Granted,They are weak looking Vag connectors throughout- brittle looking. I do have a good meter so that would be most helpful Thank You. I managed to get to the bottom of the radiator fans going mental and draining my battery tho. Today i took the “E box” fuse box inside the engine bay, next to the battery apart .One of the maxi Fuses- A 40amp one had some condensation in its little window. Although the top part of the fuse box looked bone dry,on taking apart I found a small amount about 2 tablespoons of water across all of the contacts. Bring on the wife’s hairdryer-gave it a good 10 minute blast and then some electrical contact cleaner, put it back together, scanned/erased codes and not a peep from the fans since. Battery still reads 12.6v some 8 hours later so happy with that.
  17. That.Is just what I wanted to hear. You’re a God Send Wino. Thanks again
  18. Hello all car is 2010 ccza engine code mk2 octavia vrs 2.0 Tfsi I have spent ages now looking into and under the car trying to find and replace this #1 of 2 of these sensors on my car. Ive replaced one new one already at the bottom of the radiator/passenger side but with a torch in every nook and cranny,I cannot for the life of me find the Primary? One. Conflicting diagrams tell me it’s either behind the inlet manifold or if I pull the fuel filter housing out of the way. This should be a 2 minute job of pull the electrical connector off, pull with pliers the U shaped clip, replace the O ring with a new one, reconnect and clear the code. Code P2185 Engine coolant temperature sensor 2 (G83)Circuit High on Carista refuses to clear and symptoms are white smoke from exhaust and I think high mpg. Any definitive help would be greatly received Thanks so much.
  19. Ok sir will do Thank You. I have one in the boot to swap out - a genuine 2 pin coolant temperature sensor part number 06A919501A
  20. Hello Wino, geez you are like lightning!! Been reading on net all day-forums etc (various Vag) and the 2 items that kept jumping out at me that seemed to solve this cooling fans issue going crazy ( plus the cheapest solution!) was that “100” relay and also the Engine Temperature sensor. You may well remember you helped me out a coupe of months back with the location of the one I didn’t change that I certainly will be tomorrow. Lockdown is great for tinkering with cars!
  21. Hello chaps and ladies also I’m sure. Now the electrical gremlins after totally renewing the cars suspension. Cooling fans are draining the battery. Have ordered 1x 70amp relay”100” as I’m going to take apart and hair drier the what looks like bone dry under bonnet fuse box anyway. Thought this the cheapest option 1st. Will also replace one of the 2 engine temperature sensors-only changed 1 out a few months back..... Only thing is there are 2x70amp relay ”100” which are side by side in the under bonnet fuse box. Cannot find a correct schematic on the web for my 1Z5 CCZA 2010 Vrs Estate Tfsi. Any help is always appreciated. Thank You.
  22. Thanks again Carlston. So I have taken your advice and went ahead and fitted the other new rear kyb 7021 coil spring (although the originals looked fine) when fitting the new rear Bilstein B4’s. The car now sits very solidly and the ride height has evened out.Still a little high but not Tractor high! I have taken the car for a 50 mile mostly motorway drive today. It feels planted, no squeaks or groans at all. I have read it good to leave new suspension to settle for approx 300 miles/1 week until getting it 4 wheel aligned so looking forward to that with the Whiteline rear Arb also fitted and car is remapped to a modest 220 bhp. Many many Thanks for your knowledge and replies to me and I wish all on here a Happy New Year.
  23. Tho I understand it should be a stock ride height of 370mm front and 365mm ish back so it has a lot to drop to do for a vrs estate mk2 from my 400mm + ......
