DPF regens too often
Yes. That's a common behavior.

2014 Octavia VRS 2.0TDI CUPA Several problems I fear.
It is not an engine out job. You need to move the steering rack out of the way. If the filter canister can be removed (it is clamped and not welded) you can find a replacement part for around 600euros. Otherwise it's around 2k. This would be a clamped DPF canister.

MIB 2.5 Retrofit minor issues
Fixed these issues by upgrading the gateway module to 3Q0.. and correctly coding the climatronic unit. Turn out that the hacky vcds I've had was too old and the climatronic unit was not getting coded actually.

2014 Octavia VRS 2.0TDI CUPA Several problems I fear.
The high oil consumption is definitely not a myth. Mine got from 1L / 2000km to 1L/600km. Had the piston rings changed this February and it got waaaay better. Still uses some, but it might be due to the fact they're not yet seated. Added like 500ml / 4500km. The consumption and fans running, is due to DPF regen being always on. If you drive more than 90 min without shutting down the engine, the DPF light will come on your dash. The limp mode can also be caused by the clogged DPS. This also used to happen to me, under heavy acceleration. If you are lucky enough to have a 'good' DPF part number, you can only replace the filter part, and not the whole assembly, why is way cheaper (https://www.autodoc24.ro/as/18989355 something like this, it is basically clamped and can be removed. Mine is welded in and it cannot be changed like this).

DPF issue or something else
What are you suspecting that might be the issue? The issue can range from faulty pressure / temperature sensors, to the DPF actually being clogged and needing a clean, or being melted/shattered and needing a total replacement.

@pab567any idea?

MIB 2.5 Retrofit minor issues
Hello. I have upgraded from MIB 1 to MIB 2.5 and I have 2 small issues that need solving. 1. In the sport information menu (or whatever it's called), the boost and temperature gauges are not displaying anything. 2. The clima menu is completely not functional. It doesn't display anything and the menu button from climatronic panel also doesn't do anything anymore. Does anyone have any experience with what needs coding?

Replacing only DPF canister
Is it possible to replace only the DPF canister part, from the after treatment system? From pictures it looks like it's hold in place by a clamp, and now welded in, thus making replacement possible. Does anyone have any experience with this?

DPF Compatibility
Any idea what might be different? I have found a really low mileage one from a a 2017 Jetta that I would fancy getting as replacement.

DPF Compatibility
Is the DPF compatible across all diesel engine codes (1.6 TDI - 2.0 TDI)?

Removing the DSG Gear Shift Knob
I am aware that there are, but I did not find anything specific to O3 and I do not know if the same applies to all.

Does anyone know the steps involved into removing the dsg gear shift knob?

Skoda recall in Israel
That checker is a bit strange. My car was purchased in Germany, but driven in Romania. If I set the country where the car is driven to Germany, all good. If I switch to Romania, it says it should be inspected. Same VIN on both checks.

Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0TDI (CUPA EA288) high oil consumption
As far as I know, CUNA also has 2 EGRS. Both low and high pressure.

Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0TDI (CUPA EA288) high oil consumption
I have changed only the piston rings ( and all the other 'serviceable' parts involved ) and so far, the oil level seems to not be dropping anymore. (550km done) Will update this post after around 2000-3000km done.

Can you vent EGR gasses out of engine rather then recirculating them and clogging up the Head?
What's the difference between the EU6 EA288 without AdBlue and EU5 EA288 ?

The EGR on this car is a low pressure one. It sits after the DPF so it doesn't recirculate the soot too, which would be the case for high pressure EGRs sitting just after the exhaust manifold.

Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0TDI (CUPA EA288) high oil consumption
Thanks a lot! Is there any availability on those pistons in the UK? I have been searching for a set for a month so far 😞 The last question wasn't to question your knowledge 😀. I just wanted to know if there is any channel that I can find this kind of information myself.

Skoda Octavia VRS 2.0TDI (CUPA EA288) high oil consumption
Do you have a part number on that? Ar the aftermarket pistons sold my MAHLE a good replacement? Also, where do you get that kind of information?

Please post a pic of the car before & after. I can't decide between eibach pro kit and h&r.

Replacement shocks
Do you remember the part code for the B4s? I see multiple part numbers for O3.

Is my DPF regen too often?
So, I had my DPF cleaned TWICE, because of the oil consumption. It works well for around 3-4 months, then it starts 'degrading' again. The burned oil doesn't produce the same type of soot that can be burned off ( as I'm told by the cleaning shop ). It's more like 'tar'. So, cleaning the DPF will be beneficial in the short run, but getting the oil consumption issue fixed should be a priority. I was booked in for piston changes this week, but all shops are out of stock for kolbenschmidt pistons. I will be able to give a more valuable input after I replace the pistons and clean the dpf for a third time and a few months will pass by.

Do the B6s go well with eibach sportline lowering springs?
