  1. Yep happened to me too. Free service and MOT as compensation for the incident.
  2. RGM still do not make a protector for the vrs. Has anyone tried the non vrs one on a vrs hatch? Struggling to see why it wouldn't fit!
  3. I had this lie from one dealer. When I told them many other dealers had provided the update manually, they magically managed to find "a usb" stick with it on. By then I had taken it to another dealer who just did it without any fuss during a routine service. Try to find a better dealer.
  4. I went in with the same information, gave then the tpi code, and when I collected it they told me it had been done. Switched on the car, and it was still on 1896. They basically lied and said they had done it, when they hadn't. When I pointed this out they tried to say it might have downgraded while I was waiting to collect it (another lie). Then they said the update can't be done by the garage anymore and had to be over the air (another lie). I hope your dealer is better than the Letchworth marshals branch.
  5. Quick question. My car was in for another issue last week (selection lever), and while it was in I asked them to update the SW to 1941. When I picked up the car, this had not been done and the dealer tried to tell me these updates are now all OTA and cannot be done directly. I think this is highly unlikely but wanted to check if other folks had managed to get their dealer to do this update recently? Cheers for any help. This is in the UK.
  6. Hi @varooom, I am on 1896 (UK) and if possible would like a link to the 1941 fw. I thought I could live with the reboots but it's every day now....
  7. Yep, even on the phone in the settings for Android auto it says it's wireless enabled. It just be a hardware setting that I can't access, but dealers can of they know what they are doing.
  8. Thanks, but they are all on. The mystery continues!
  9. Thanks. I think mine must be switched off in the manufacturer settings, I have read on the seat forums that some mib3 units have it set to usb only (even on latest software). Of course, the local dealer won't have a clue how you change it 😀
  10. Ok this is the last thing that I can't get to work on my vrs. It's not the end of the world, but it's bugging me that I can't get the wireless aa to work. I have 1896 software. I have Android 13 on a pixel 6. I never get there option to switch to a wireless connection. Is there anything silly I could be missing? I've tried forgetting phone and reconnecting.
  11. Just to add it's not all about hardware version. My vRS was one of the first, is still on 1668 software, and has not had any issues other than I'd like wireless Android auto to work but can't be bothered to book it in for the upgrade....
  12. As I do less than 10k a year the petrol vRS is a clear winner. If I drive smoothly on the motorway it hits 50mpg. If I want a bit of fun it can give me that too. The case for diesel is diminishing.
  13. When my MK4 was in for a service I had a Sportline Superb estate courtesy car. For me the interior and info system in the Superb was a huge step backwards. Felt like a 20 year old car, rubbish info screen, sat Nov,etc. There is additional space for sure but it's not significant and the hatch vRS is more than big enough for four adults to go away on holiday for a couple of weeks very comfortably. When I looked up the list price of the Superb over the vRS I couldn't believe it was nearly 10k more for the superb. I appreciated some people have had issues with the info system in the mk4 (I haven't) but not withstanding this there is no comparison, get the MK4 it's a huge step forward imo and cheaper too.
  14. For what it's worth, the ride in my vrs petrol with no DCC is fine on normal on crap UK roads... But only once I removed the transport blocks!
