A question to the owners of the IV model
Just checked mine 16k miles (when did that happen?) and fronts are on 3mm

A question to the owners of the IV model
That's incredibly impressive!

A question to the owners of the IV model
I prefer to have a warm car and just accept it's less efficient than a nissan leaf 😅

A question to the owners of the IV model
Like I said, it wasn't present at all in the Passat which has identical running gear, so there's every chance I've just been unlucky!

A question to the owners of the IV model
Mine is an estate. It's a big boot, and plenty big for a dog, I have two , but the sloping back prevents some larger objects fitting as easily compared to the Passat. The shunt comes in jerky power delivery from a standstill and at slow speeds. Not enough to jump the car but it feels like it hesitates. Overall I think it's a decent car and if you're coming from an octavia it'll be familiar to you

A question to the owners of the IV model
I have a ten month old iV which replaced a Passat GTE with the same powertrain. Here are my thoughts on mine. I'll start with the negatives then end on the positives! Boot size is "big" but not as useful as some would have you believe, due to the sloping profile of the rear The radio / infotainment system is unforgivably slow when you first get into the car. It's fine after 60-ish seconds though Mine suffers from annoying driveline shunt at slow speeds. The Passat was perfect however, so perhaps I've just been unlucky with this one I see you are based in Iceland, the battery performance is quite poor in cold temperatures, even when pre-conditioned. Expect a maximum range of 16km on electric until the temperatures are above 10 degrees I find it incredibly comfortable - It's not a hydropneumatic Citroen but it's good Apart from slow speed shunt, the power delivery otherwise is good and predictable in all driving modes The matrix headlights are amazing. If you are considering one without projector LEDS, test drive it in the dark because the output from the non-projector lights may be inadequate

Faulty fuel level needle?
I'm still amazed that nobody at VAG has deduced that's it's stress inducing for their cars to use the same "bong" noise for low fuel, low washer fluid as well as more serious things like low coolant and oil levels ETA: especially when they've gone to the effort of programming the parking sensors to make a different chime when you've well and truly got the car wedged in somewhere on multiple sides

Prop shaft donut seized - £635.62!
I was warned my old B8 Passat was at risk of becoming a deathtrap due to both rear shocks leaking a significant quantity of oil. Weirdly it was only mentioned in person and not noted on the service paperwork? Yet it passed its MOT the next week with not even an advisory? If they're sorting it under warranty that's cool, I would be interested to see their faces when you ask to see the old part to explain the problem though

New FL Skoda Superb 2020 tail lights - retrofit?
I was thinking today how it's such a waste that they don't even install the "highline" lights to all facelift Superbs. If you have an SE you still get the older style lights (but with all LED?). So they have two styles of facelift headlight but three tails, lowline, highline and smoked highline. I don't see how that's actually helpful to the person buying it. Especially as the taillights are arguably the best bit of the facelift?

Headlight Washer - Keep extended?
I bought a soft toothbrush and it did the job 😁

Faulty fuel level needle?
The experiment was made less risky by having a fully charged traction battery to haul me back to the petrol station
-
Faulty fuel level needle?
I did an experiment today in the iV. I let the range drop to 0 miles. It took 53.4 litres to fill. The internet suggests the tank capacity is 53l so this one certainly isn't creating an artificial reserve capacity!

Headlight Washer - Keep extended?
I might try something like that first just to mitigate the risk of snapping something. It's really quite an arduous task but the end result is probably worth it!

Headlight Washer - Keep extended?
Not yet, I've been doing this project in stages because the car is frankly too big! Tomorrow I plan to do the remaining two panels as well as tackling the washers, so expect photos of them in pieces! On a related note, the dual action polisher has completely renewed the glossy plastic on the doors, they look brand new ☺️

Websites options to do a detailed VIN look up??
I think I'd prefer if Skoda focused on making sure some of the features I've already paid for actually work 😂

Front Bumper trim / embellishment?
Putting this here for future record in case I or anyone else needs the part number in future. Turns out they're held in purely with sticky tape, which looks like it's failed in the heat
-
Front Bumper trim / embellishment?
Yeah it is under warranty. Are trim pieces not subject to the shorter 6 month exclusion? If not, I'll give my local dealer a shout

Front Bumper trim / embellishment?
I've noticed today that one of my chrome strips has parted company with the bumper, and the second one is definitely loose. Can anyone help with the proper name for this part so I can search for and buy a set? Or a part number?

Superb L&K 272 Hatch incoming!
That looks really decent in silver! Nicely bought!

Headlight Washer - Keep extended?
I was hoping to jab a clothes peg but it sounds like a Wilko value peg will not be a match for the spring in the car. I think I'll study them in operation to suss out the best way to grab them. Thanks for the heads up about the cap being fragile!

Headlight Washer - Keep extended?
I'm part way through ceramic coating the car and I've managed to get a load of dried cutting compound and polish stuck in the aperture for the headlight washers. My question is, I assume these aren't electric and are powered by the water pressure alone? Therefore is there anything stopping me operating the washers and grabbing them whilst they're open to keep them extended whilst I clean off the hardened products in the aperture?

Faulty fuel level needle?
It does seem to me that 1Z2 relates to more juice in the tank, with that description? It would also explain why the price for 1Z2 on the Bosnian (?) build sheet is only 10 marks (£4)
-
Faulty fuel level needle?
This is actually interesting. I'll try to run the iV down to near 0 and see how much fuel it actually takes!
