Mk4 Octavia Infotainment System
Probably there will be new 16xx version for the A,B,C hardware revision that will solve all current issues, but you must understand that this car has several CAN modules besides infotainment, each with his own software version. Maybe some of issues people are having are not strictly related to just infotainment unit. 1803 version mentioned above comes with the new cars and probably all other CAN modules have the latest software versions. It would be interesting to extract CAN module version using obdtool/VCDS/obdeleven and compare cars that have issues and cars that don't. My car is from May 2021 with 1803. I don't have any issues whatsoever. Only irritating thing is slow infotainment boot (I have to wait almost a minute to disable start/stop) and skoda connect statistics and information doesn't update every time. But everything else is working great.

Yes, D and E versions if I'm not mistaken.

Mk4 Octavia Infotainment System
As I read on the German forum, latest version 1803 is the only version without any issues. Unfortunately, 1803 will not be part of the OTA update, it is only installed by the dealer if you have "know issues" that are solved with this version.

SW version on reporting bugs
AFAIK no. Apparently only dealers have option to download firmware directly to USB and initiate update. OTA upgrades can be related to the region also. Maybe you version is the latest version for Israel.

Navigation map update over USB worked (probably)
Reading on the forum about possibility to upgrade navigation maps using USB stick (somebody mentioned that cars in Russia without data package on the eSIM are using USB to update maps) I decided to try this procedure. My initial driver was that a large roundabout near me was reconstructed (a year ago) with a tunnel underneath and maps that came with the car showed old information that was used during roundabout reconstruction. First, I tried the online update. After I installed Skoda connect app, registered and declared my user as primary, infotainment updated navigational database from 20.3 to 21.3. But unfortunately that didn't solve my problem with the map, my roundabout stayed the same with old roads around him. After driving couple of days irritated how can a year old change still not be updated in the current navigation data, I tried the USB procedure: From the https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/ I downloaded 25GB of ECE 2020/2021 maps As I didn't have 32GB USB stick I used old 2.5" HDD in external enclosure with USB-C cable. This proved very useful because this enclosure has activity LED so you can see if something is happening with the disk I used MiniTool Partition wizard under windows to format my 80GB HDD with FAT32 4k cluster size as per instruction on update portal I extracted the zip file on the the drive I started the ignition, waited for infotainment to boot and plugged the USB disk to the socket closer to the gear selector The LED on the HDD started blinking, you can defensively see when disk is mounted and than infotainment started reading and copying data from the disk. This lasted about 10-20min. It is hard to say exactly how long because i was mounting fire extinguisher under the driver seat. When LED stop blinking I unplugged the disk. After the procedure was done I powered down the infotainment by long pressing the power button. After the infotainment booted again I immediately checked the navigation databases version and to my surprise it showed the exact same number 21.3. Disappointed, I turned of the car and went home. The next morning on my way to work I noticed that roads around my roundabout were showing correctly with the new tunnel underneath. Now the navigation didn't go mad when I went through the tunnel. After arriving to work I checked the navigation database and it still showed the same old version number 21.3. Now I was confused. The maps definitely changed but the version under System Information remained the same. It remains mystery what information is pushed over the OTA update and what information was copied from the USB disk. If somebody also has some know road that is missing on the map you can try this procedure and check if this helps.

No internet connection.
Same problem, last sync 7:40 in the morning. I tried internet sharing over iphone but without success. Probably some roaming issues with the mobile data provider. It would be nice if there was a custom app to test Esim connectivity.

Travel Mode
Maybe this is the cause of problems with RHD cars and high-beam assist and matrix lights.
-
Travel Mode
RHT is right-hand traffic, meaning you drive on the right side of the road. If you buy a car in the country with right-hand traffic (EU), you would buy LHD (left hand drive) car. If you would buy a car in the UK, it would be RHD (right hand car) and in the UK there is LHT (left-thand traffic) meaning you drive on the left side of the road. Light configuration is related to the traffic flow. So in the EU you will use RHT regardless if your car is LHD or RHD.

ACC misbehaving
Maybe it is another UK glitch related with you driving on the wrong side of the road (this is after all a german car :-) ) and the car didn't think you were overtaking and got confused...

Available coding/adaptation mods
Until SFD problem is solved I think we can only code unlocked modules (memory function for the lane assist).

Browsing how to enable rear DRL lights on Octavia Mk IV I found this Slovenian car tuner claiming that he can code following options: car alarm activation - Car alarm uses normal horn and functions via door, hood and trunk switches and does not use interior motion sensors and tilt sensor, since they are not installed activation of additional VRS view rear LED DRL lights activation - Factory configuration doesn’t allow rear parking lights to function as day-time-running (DRL) lights. This can be a big problems for vehicles that are not equipped with rain-light sensor, since rear parking lights are not turned on in dark places (for example, tunnels; etc), if the driver forgets to manually turn them on. Also on vehicles with rain-light sensor in some specific conditions sensor does not turn on low beams on time, for example in fog during daytime. With activation of rear parking lights as DRL lights this safety threat is avoided. cornering lights activation - Cornering lights are especially useful in twisted narrow roads or city streets because they illuminate space in front of the car that headlights do not reach. Cornering lights function is active only with dipped beam active and will not work with day time running lights on. memory function activation for Lane Assist- From factory Lane Assist is always activated when starting the car. After activation of memory function for Lane Assist system, Lane Assist will automatically activate if it was activated, when the car was turned off. If Lane Assist was not activated when turning off the car, it will stay deactivated with the next start. Additional option is that Lane Assist is always deactivated when starting the car. automatic Light Assist activation - From factory Light Assist is always disabled when starting the car. After activation of memory function for Light Assist, Light Assist will automatically activate if it was activated when turning off the car. If Light Assist was not activated when turning of the car, it will stay deactivated with next start. engine power display activation - activation of current engine power display gives us an exact information how much power our engine currently develops mirror folding modus change - From factory mirrors fold with every locking of the car. This can be changed so that mirrors will fold only with a long press of the locking button on remote controller or via long press on the door handle button for a car with Kessy system. lock/unlock beep confirmation activation fog lights on with reverse gear - automatic activation of front fog lights with reverse gear, which ensures good visibility on the front of the car, when parking in small places. driving school mode activation - auto school mode activation: added display shows current speed and turn signal. It is intended for driving schools, but it is very useful also if you have a young driver, so you can check the speed on central screen instead of on instrument cluster. sound deactivation for trunk opening/closing - From factory warning sound is active when opening/closing the trunk from remote or button inside the car. The sound can be deactivated, but the driver MUST check that there is noone near the trunk, so that he/she does not get injured. temperature display activation - activation of automatic transmission oil, engine oil and coolant temperature display gives provides exact information of different temperatures in our car and offers easier control and overview of the state of the car engine torque display activation - activation of engine torque display gives us an exact information how much torque our engine currently develops Here is the youtube playlist with all the features listed above:

First Mod on my vRS
Unfortunately module 09 "Central Electronics" is protected by SFD and without online or offline SFD tokens nothing can be configured. Only one trying to achieve some kind of partnership with VAG group for SFD integration is OBDelevn, currently without any results. Quote from OBDeleven: As an official Volkswagen partner, we can confirm that conversation regarding 2020 vehicle support is in progress and we are waiting for the documentation from Volkswagen AG. We can not commit to a formal release date, as this depends on a third party - Volkswagen AG. As soon as we will get any documentation we will officially inform all our community members. Stay tuned!

Please give us update if you manage to enable rear DRL lights.

First Mod on my vRS
Be aware that most of the modules are locked with SFD and require token from the Skoda to chnage and write settings. OBDeleven currently can't generate needed SFD tokens.

TPMS - Real one or monitor wheel turning speed like in MK2 vRS?
Only thing I will miss from Renault. Renault has TPMS sensors in each tire that are very accurate. Only downside is if you have second set of tires, you need to buy additional valves and pair them with the car (100 euro for 4 tire set). Renault TPMS sensors are very useful if you have low profile tires which are more sensitive to outside temperature changes. This way you can have detailed pressure information for each tire on the dash.

Octavia Mk4 aftermarket towbar
Westfalia kit: Tow Bar, to work correctly, requires a VW module. This is responsible for CAN communication with other modules: Engine - when towing it works differently to cope with extra load - sometimes switches additional fan to cool ABS / ESP module - these work differently when trailer is hooked to avoid jack knifing. CECM - This power module distributes power in another way when trailer is hooked - also visually aids the driver when trailer is hooked on dashboard OPS - This is coded so when trailer is hooked up sensors do not beep CAN gateway - trailer module is coded into the gateway (main comms hub) so the car and other modules know what to do RVC - reversing camera - similar thing to parking sensors - recognises the trailer on the screen switches off dynamic lines 5F Information Electronics - ensures entertainment system displays all the trailer info correctly. LED Trailer Module 69 Some of the modules are locked with SFD

Octavia Mk4 aftermarket towbar
In theory it should be possible... First somebody needs to test: if old J345 CAN Trailer module is working with the new CAN BUS module on MBQ Evo platform or can you buy official CAN Trailer modules supplied by Octavia MK IV. If there is CAN-H and CAN-L connections prepared in the back of the Octavia where J345 module will be installed. Find what options for conding and adaptation needs to be changed based on the equipment installed in each car (ACC, Park Assist, Electric booth opening, etc...) Find if SFD protection will be an issue. Based on the video above, those modules are not protected and it should be possible to do required modification with latest VCDS. After that, every third party towbar installer will be able to do the job...

Just purchased but I miss anti fog lamps
Are the LED fog lamps from Style package physically different from the LED fog lamps "with cornering function" which are part of the upgrade or it is just software related stuff?

Octavia Mk4 aftermarket towbar
If I understand correctly for the aftermarket towbar installation, you need new CAN module number 69 (J345 or simmilar) which will be connected to the CAN bus and that module will feed the electrical wiring on the trailer. For new module to work properly, you need to enabled it in the ECU CAN gateway using VCDS/OBD11 or ODIS. With the new Octavia there could be some SFD (Vehicle Diagnostic Protection) related problems. Besides enabling this module, additional coding needs to be done so when trailer is connected to the towbar, it can disable (ACC, electronic trunk opening, etc...) or enable some additional features (enable trailer assist in park assist). Video bellow is showing VCDS capabilities and SFD limitations for trailer coding on new Octavia. Maybe this will bi helpful. Don't mind the Golf in the video name.
