  1. Successfully updated from 1896 -> 1941. My reboots were not that bad, every two/three weeks (but sometimes 3 times in a day). After that I updated maps to 2022.12 using skoda update portal. I took couple of hours with the USB-C stick plugged in.
  2. Can this behaviour be changed using coding?
  3. Hi @UrgyMcKnispelI need 1941 firmware also. Thanks.
  4. Hi @varooom. Can you please send me 1941 version. I'm on the 1896. Thanks
  5. Does anyone know how to code cornering lights using fog lights with VCDS or VCTOOL? Thanks
  6. I solved my problem with saving navigation and AC settings. Steering wheel was replaced under warranty and new software was installed 1803 -> 1896. Now all settings are saved correctly.
  7. My problems with saving settings started with Emergency/Travel Assist errors that started to appear. If I i had to guess I would say that faulty sensor in steering wheel caused Emergency/Travel Assist errors that somehow filled (with error logs) or somehow damaged the internal storage on 5F module causing the problems with saving different configuration options, mainly navigation settings. I also regularly lose AC settings and I get "Changing your vehicle settings" message. Or it could be that internal storage on 5F module has some kind of hardware error that seems to appear after certain amount of time.
  8. Try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIGkqmkI6fg&t=149s
  9. After 6 months of flawless usage, I hit a "not saving settings bug on built-in navigation" bug. Don't know what triggered this but the car was not driven for almost 3 weeks (it was at dealers for bodywork and paint). The symptoms are the same as reported here on a couple of topics, satnav loses all settings (favorites, history, configuration) after you shut down the car. I tried manually to turn off the infotainment and the same thing happens, all data and configuration is lost. I tried with both the Guest account and the new account, the same result. My version is 18.03, E at the end of a part number. As there is no way you can connect to an Infotainment system or use some kind of debug mode there is not much I can try. To me the problem looks like the internal storage that is used for saving settings is full or damaged but of course, there is no way to check this. I guess visiting the dealer is my only option. I somebody has some ideas, please let me know. I will try one more thing, disable the e-sim connection to make sure that settings are not overwritten from the cloud somehow, but I doubt it.
  10. You didn't need SFD token for this setting, that module is unlocked together with climate control module.
  11. You are correct. I have no plan, just free account but most of the adaptations are free. Just Video in Motion and Emergency Assist are 10 and 5 euros but I didn't needed them. https://vctool.app/available-presets/?model=Skoda Octavia A8&culture=en-US
  12. Tried coding with VCTool using cheap $3 adpater LM327 V1.5 and it worked great: Bought 3 SFD tokens for 28€ + tax, try entering address not in EU maybe it will not charge you additional 21% tax For test I unlocked only module 9 You will need Internet connection during coding SFD token is not real time, it is near real time. You will receive email updated about queuing your request and you will receive an email when token is generated. It is very fast 1-2min max. Don't panic and try to unlock the module, you will receive CRC error. After you unlock a specific module you can run all adaptions for that module Modules stay unlocked for about 90min, during that time you can use other coding software like VCDS or OBDeleven I used VCDS trying to enable cornering lights with fog lights without success because I don't know which channel to use. Golf 7 and Octavia mk3 channels didn't work. I also tried lowering right mirror when in reverese but I don't have memory seats and this feature is not working correctly. All other adaptations are free in VCTool for module 9. My priority were "rear DRL lights" and "enable/disabe DRL in menus". I also enabled other available options for module 9. I have two tokens left, next I will code Dashboard to show gearbox temp and other stuff but I'm waiting for VCDS firmware update for 21.9 version so I can check what else can be modified. This bundle of 3 tokens can be used on different VINs, if you have three cars this can be useful Maybe competition will force lower prices for SFD tokens soon, If you are not in a hurry wait and see
  13. Stupid question. Can you easily remove mudflaps during summer season?
  14. If you have PACC capable car it will up-shift from coasting when near intersection or approaching speed limit lower than current speed.
  15. Good news, for single 35€ to this. It is going cheaper..
  16. Windows should detect USB-to-Serial device. Check the device manager for incomplete driver installation. Be aware there are two version of ELM 327, version 1.5 (original clone) and new Chinese version 2.1. There are completely different hardware and have different AT commands. I used 1.5 with VCTool. Check with VCTool support which firmware they support. But from your output I would say you are missing drivers for your dongle.
  17. Hm.... it would be very strange that there is Travel Assist button on the wheel but the feature is not there. Make a photo of "Menu" - > "Assist Systems" > "List". Maybe it is just disabled.
  18. I never had any issues with Lane Assist but my car is LHD version, I guess VW tests LHD cars with more attention, after all EU market is much bigger than UK. I disabled wheel vibration in the infotainment and using VCDS configured to remember last settings. It even doesn't make any mistakes when there is road work on the highway and white lanes change to yellow but I have traffic sign recognition maybe that is also part of whole package.
  19. AFAIK the feature is called Travel Assist LOW, which enables ACC and Lane Assist to work on speeds below 60km/h. If you have DSG it means that during traffic jams or slow riding condition, the car will stop if necessary and continue to drive if car in front also starts moving. Without Travel Assist LOW if you have ACC and drive above 60km/h everything should work as you described. Regarding additional coding I’m not sure but in theory it should be possible. Older model required specific auto hold module for this feature to work but if I’m not mistaken all MK IV are equipped with auto hold function.
  20. I think rear TOP LED lights are different hardware than normal rear LED lights but maybe I'm wrong.
  21. Find any 1.5 version of ELM327 on aliexpress like: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001287644836.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.c94538971b9i3z&algo_pvid=0f9b6567-14e0-4f49-b543-e12b5ead7193&algo_exp_id=0f9b6567-14e0-4f49-b543-e12b5ead7193-3 Regarding beep sound problem I don't think VW group will ever allow to disable this safety feature. Maybe timer can be extended but that is it. If I found something I will let you know.
  22. There is physical protection when changing coding parameters, you will not be able to write any options with hood closed. You will get write error.
