Heated front windscreen
Hard to say. This one feels just less powerful. I've had heating with wires and without wires and both made ice turn to water quickly. This one takes minutes to see any effect.

Heated front windscreen
I find it like you do, underwhelming. It's much slower than in my previous car, which was a octavia 3 estate. It's still moderately useful but i feel a bit cheated.

Delivery times?
I had similar on my 2016 Octavia and it was fine. But on my 2021 Octavia it is not so. It takes up to 5 minutes to soften the ice on a frozen windscreen and even then it needs to be scraped off.

Delivery times?
I wondered about the same thing. It's a film /membrane kind of a thing and it is just not very powerful.

Delivery times?
No TSI 2.0 RS 4X4 available in Finland and i don't recall seeing one. You can see the brochure here https://www.skoda.fi/vertaile-ja-osta/hinnastot-ja-esitteet#octavia (OCTAVIA hinnasto).

Octavia PHEV and the "rough road package"
Thanks for your answers! I drive mostly on good roads, but some of the country roads i use frequently are in a poor state most of the time. With the PHEV battery being so expensive i thought i could use some extra protection against rocks. https://www.skoda-auto.com/world/rough-road-package Here it says that the kit includes 15 mm of additional height, protective plates and new springs and shocks. Atleast here in Finland you can order a PHEV with 17 inch rims, which is what i plan to do.

Octavia PHEV and the "rough road package"
Hello! I'm wondering about how the so called rough road kit affects the ride on a PHEV? I've tried searching multiple forums and came up with nothing regarding the current model. I understand the package includes bottom armour, new springs and perhaps adjusted shocks (?), depending on the source. Does anyone have a PHEV model with the packege? My current 1.5 tsi 2020 Octavia has quite a soft chasis and i'm considering upgrading to a PHEV with the RR kit, but i'm concerned that the added weight with longer springs makes the car feel like a boat. I've read some accounts about the earlier octavia models that the RR kit makes the suspension stiffer, which would be nice.

EPB & Auto Hold Not Releasing Issue - Again.
Sorry, i have no reference or campaign number for the fix.

EPB & Auto Hold Not Releasing Issue - Again.
I had the autohold not releasing the brakes issue on a 2021 octavia combi manual. First i had a clutch pedal position sensor (?) replaced, but that did not help. Later in june -21 a software patch was issued and i haven't had any problems since. So there should be a fix available.

1st Gear Troubles Gearbox
I've had a similar problem occasionally. The stick goes in but the gear does not quite engage, so i need to try few times. This happened with reverse and 1st gear. I have not encountered it recently and it was more frequent during the first 5 000 km or so. I also feel that it was more frequent when S/S was on. I always switch it off during winter time so can't if it really is so.

Auto Hold Not Releasing
Hello, i had a similar problem and i was initially told that this was due to a faulty glutch pedal sensor (no idea what the official term would be). It was replaced but that did not help. Then in June (or april) a software fix was installed to my car and it sorted the problem. Haven't had any issues since.

Anyone actually happy with their MK4? 😂
Can i ask what kind of noises was the gearbox making?
-
Auto Hold Not Releasing
That is strange. I had an identical issue and i was told by the dealer that it is a known issue and that there would be a software fix for it. The fix came eventually and was applied to my car and i haven't had the issue since.

Eco mode throttle blip
On my car the eco-icon is seen on the speed-o-meter when the ACT kicks in, regardless of the driving mode.

octavia 2018 1.4 vs 2021 1.5
With manual gearbox i think the sport mode just makes the gas pedal more responsive. My previous car (octavia 3) had the same 110 kW. I don't feel that i'm missing much power. I just had to adjust the way i drive little bit, downshifting more often. Also i think the new car is much nicer to drive in traffic and at slow speed. It has nice torque on low RPM. On a level road 5th gear works nicely at 50 km/h and it gives good fuel economy. I use 5th gear on country roads (50 - 80 km/h) and leave the 6th for the highways.

octavia 2018 1.4 vs 2021 1.5
@SiWaiting I feel the same. I have a similar situation, coming from a 1.4 tsi manual to a 1.5 manual. My previous car did react to gas pedal on 6th gear at 80 km/h but this one does nothing. So i just accelerate on smaller gears and also downshift more often when passing. The new gearbox must be a big player here but also the 1.5 tsi feels bit less powerful. I've been told that the new 1.5 comes with some emission reducing tech (like GPF), which affects the engine power. Looking at the chart, i think there must be something else different between the old car and new car, since for example, with the old car on second gear i often accelerated to about 80 km/h but with new car i get pretty close to max rpm before 80 km/h so i upshift earlier. So maybe there's a difference in final drive or something? The new gearbox MQ281 is "based on a 2.5 shaft concept". I wonder what that means?

Skoda 1.5 TSI ACT
I chose manual mainly because i like it. And it's fine on this car apart from the occasional jumpyness on the 1st gear. I've driven dsg equipped VAG cars now and then and while they are nice in traffic, i hate the feeling of not being in control.
-
Skoda 1.5 TSI ACT
While the ACT causes some vibrations, i feel the "jumpy" 1st gear is the bigger problem. I will talk about both again with the retailer next time i contact them, since there are some other smaller issues (mostly infotainment related) still with the car.

Skoda 1.5 TSI ACT
Hi, it's little better or i've just gotten used to it. It's still very noticeable in some situations, say 4th gear at 1500 rpm. 1st gear is prone to leaping or stalling when launching (if that's the kangarooing). I need to be quite careful to get a smooth launch. I talked to the retailer about it but was told it's a feature of the motor, especially when cold. The 1.4 tsi i had before was smoother and also felt more powerful (might be due to gearing of the new gearbox too).
-
Skoda 1.5 TSI ACT
Mine is not very smooth. ACT is noticeable when it activates and deactivates and there are vibrations especially on certain RPM / gear. This is a tsi 1.5 with manual gearbox. But i've gotten used to it, so not a big bother. Also i should mention that i am quite sensitive to extra sounds and vibrations while driving, so someone else might not be bothered at all.

Auto Hold Not Releasing
I had the problem come and go until they finally fixed it. So it can start functioning for a while and the come back.

Auto Hold Not Releasing
I had a similar problem with my 2021 estate octavia. A software fix took care of the problem. The fix has been available from early summer i think.

Brake pedal feel - 1.5 manual
I got similar experiences with my 1.5 tsi manual. Pedal is noisy and i need to press it quite firmly. Slows ok though.

Appreciate Advice - Octavia vRS Estate & Options
I've got the HUD on my estate octavia and i like it very much. As it shows most of the relevant data (speed, speed limit, acc, lane assist, navigation, traffic signs and some warnings) so i seldom have the need to lower my gaze from the road. Only downside is the price.
