  1. My dealer just emailed me to make booking for it's 2 year service and said I should change brake fluid and have Aircon serviced at the same time, while I understand the brake fluid change, (something years ago we never did at 2 years) im not sure the Aircon needs doing. What's owners views on having these done, car is only on 6k miles and Aircon works great, is it just to get more money out of owners?
  2. Why do Skoda make it so difficult to cross check the navigation data base level shown in the system information, to the one you spend hours downloading, just checked mine in the vehicle and it is showing 25.7, it must be easy for them to show it on the download then we wouldn't spend hours downloading it to find out it is the same or older...
  3. Solved....it was my IPTV connection interfering with the download, turned it off and download is ok...
  4. I have been trying to download the latest MIB 3 updates from the Skoda portal, three times now it gets to about 1 hour into the download and I get "Network error" and it stops, has anybody else got this problem or any advice..cheers
  5. Been trying to update my mib3 for weeks now, my current version is software 0442 Nav Database 24.8, I have the latest version from the Skoda site ECE 2025, Valid since CW 48/2024....... Nothing updates, is that because the two versions are the same, if so, as a non techy how would I know, as the two versions don't seem to have any logical link......
  6. I downloaded the latest ECE2025 as well and have been waiting for it to update, but my car is already at v24.8, so I guess I wasted my time....🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
  7. I used to have a 2021 Karoq that had the pads changed for squeaky brakes in reverse, now have a 2024 Karoq with exactly same problem, Skoda obviously didn't take action to correct it permanently over the intervening years, bit like they keep fitting the rubbish windscreen wipers that most owners Ditch pretty quickly, they need to up their game.....
  8. They are a right pain, when I tightened them they worked themselves off, so followed somebody's advice on this forum and left them off, now on my second Karoq and left them off this one as well
  9. Just tried on my app and found the digital certificate under, inspect , car details , scroll to bottom.....
  10. My Karoq shows navigation database version 24.8, how does that relate to the download available on the Skoda update portal, which is showing valid since 25/2024, which I guess is week 25 in 2024, or is that version 25.0 ?
  11. Got my mats and flaps from here. https://www.skoda-parts.com/
  12. Just heard from the dealer apparently it was a software update to the gearbox control unit.
  13. Just gone into my Digital certificate on the Skoda App and it says "carried out recall 37CM" have asked the dealer what it was but not had a response yet, does anybody know what that recall was?
  14. Would be great to know, how do you ensure the parking brake is off..❓
  15. If I go the charger route I guess this is the charger I Would need, CTEK CT5 START/STOP UK, does anybody use this one and do I need this to go with it CTX INDICATOR PLUG 12V....tia
  16. Guess I'm a bit paranoid I had a 2021 Karoq where the battery was always letting me down due to not much use, fingers crossed this one will be better...
  17. Thanks for all the input, a summary of the advice seems to be getting either Smart charger, CTEK or similar, suitable for stop/start battery ( no power) Solar trickle charger. ( Some are not waterproof) Battery boost pack. If In a secure garage. Leave unlocked. Pop the bonnet. Leave window partially open. Cheers bry
  18. First one is ok, but the other is so bad my vision does not match, so stuck for couple of weeks waiting for the other eye to be done....
  19. Thanks for the tips, Will be kept in the garage, but awkward to get power there, hence my question...cheers
  20. Just got my new Karoq but unfortunately will not be able to use it for a few weeks due to cateract surgery, if I start it and run it for 30 mins every two weeks do you think that will be enough to keep the battery charged, that's what nissan said in their manual for the Qashqai, but there is no mention of the same in the Karoq manual, they just say trickle charge....
  21. Thanks for the info CLB, would you say the 2024 model has got rid of your concerns about not wanting to change gear and the screaming on the 2020 model?
  22. Thinking of getting a new Karoq 1.5 DSG, up till now always had a manual car so i am a bit apprehensive about making a decision to go from manual to DSG. What are owners and previous owners views on the Skoda DSG gearbox, smooth and reliable or to be avoided at all costs + is the DSG auto and it's dual clutches fully covered in the 3 year warranty.
  23. Looks like they may have cured the gear problem I and others had + you covered enough miles to make sure the battery didn't get to low on charge, but the power cutting out is a bit concerning...
  24. Blimey I had forgotten about that SOS thing, probably because I just use to ignore it, hopefully that's fixed by now, never had an auto, just makes me think Megabucks when they go wrong.....
  25. Had a karoq se l .1.5 manual in 2021, it suffered from difficulty in going from 3 to 4 gear and the kessy key would play up not locking the car + mirrors would not close on locking, the garage told me to do more miles to charge battery as the system will shut down various other systems to compensate for low battery.. Thinking about getting another so Has anybody noticed if these concerns are still present on the latest cars.
